Using Just 4 You Online Opal Flakes in ammonite moulds from Red Hot Moulds

- My very first resin video on my channel was uploaded in July 2022, and in that video I made some ammonites using the amazing moulds I bought from Red Hot Moulds. Since that video I've made numerous ammonites in many different colours. In this video I used the Lets Resin Chameleon powders in the three smallest, but for the other three I wanted to see how the Just 4 You Online opal flakes would work. I really enjoy working with these flakes because they're very different from any of the mica powders I've used previously. I initially made one of each colour with the opal flakes using black resin, but I also made a couple of others using a white resin background to see how they compare. Finally I show you what those opal flakes look like in a flat, shiny finish pendant mould - the effect is wildly different depending how you use them, so I hope you find the video helpful.

Stunning colors, I love the ammonites!
Thank you :) I love ammonites too :)
Amazing ammonites! I love the irridescence and colours, nice job again!
Thank you Peter. I have so many ammonites in my stash because I can't stop making them!
Beautiful. 👏🏻
Thank you so much Diana :)
Absolutely love them!! I collect the Ammolite gem from Canadian ammonites 💜
Thanks Maisie. I love seeing real ones and we have quite a few in our fossil cabinet at home :)
Absolutely Stunningly Gorgeous Mary 😍
Thank you so much Dale :)
I find it so very fascinating to watch the flakes shift around in colour, it's different to powders but still as good. If my physics teacher had used these to illustrate some of the finer points of optics I probably would have remembered more 35 years later!
Red hot moulds are amazing quality, sadly I can't get them here in Sweden due to the high extra costs for both him and me.
The flakes really are so different from the chameleon powders I have. I really love the different textures they give and it definitely means there is no chance of ever having two pieces that are exactly the same :)
These are very pretty, but I imagine they are prettier in person than on camera.
If you are interested, Daniel Cooper did a UA-cam tutorial #265 on a realistic ammolite resin piece, which I think would look awesome in your ammonite molds! 😊
Thank you Ellen. I love Daniels videos so I will definitely go to find that video :)
I have no idea where my moulds like that went in the move, he does such fabulous and good quality moulds doesn’t he ?
The olive is one of my favourites chameleon powder. So I love that one and the big one is sublime, they all look brilliant though Mary.
I think they are Neodymium magnets I had some they are super dooper strong.
I hope you manage to track down your moulds. I hate it when I can't find things after a move but stuff always turns up eventually!
Gorgeous
Thank you so much :)
