If the radio only turns on with the antenna wire connected it is pulling power through that for ground. Your ground wire is not connected to the main harness, if I remember correctly you need to wire this to a ground point somewhere in the dash(any bare metal) as the stock harness does not provide a ground source. Driving around like that you are going to get alternator whine/noise aka ground loop.
Thank you. After reading this I realized I hadn’t grounded while it was sitting on the seat but when I actually installed it into the center stack I grounded it.
I am not sure what the issue could be. Does the overall system have sound, like when you click a button? You might have a loose or disconnected wire, but I am not sure.

My system came with both usb ports built in. If you have a carplay capable head unit it should come with the usb port built in. If there are none there could just be a usb port on the back of the system that you need to run a cord to. I am not sure what kind of system you have, but my system is a Boss BVCP9700A.

i did everything good but theres no sound coming from the radio

Where do I get the usb port attachment? Mine didn’t come with one
