True. Lol. But then NDSU snatched up all their confidence in the playoffs. Then it was a Dakota matchup last year with SDSU finally getting the better of NDSU.
Still crazy to me they “called up” SHSU and didn’t call NDSU and SDSU. Literally the premier program in both states both with phenomenal programs. NDSU literally dominates FCS to the point where it’s not even fun for the rest of them half the time. They need to go up.

@@MagicUser12345 I know they say that but Idaho’s population isn’t much better and Boise State is doing fine. I mean they’ll never be a P5 school or anything but I feel like they could definitely compete in the Mountain West. I mean they could at least try. Idaho went up and came back down after it didn’t work out. 🤷🏻♂️

They're both new to the FBS. I watched the second half and Sam Houston looked like they were playing preventative offense. They didn't want to score, they just wanted to let the clock run out. Then they got desperate and started lobbing balls.
@@baileymoore5435 Jax State is 4-1 and has the opportunity to finish first in their conference should they beat Liberty. For a first year FBS team, what that program is doing is nothing short of impressive.

It made no sense to me when SHSU didn't go for two, when they scored the TD w/ 75 seconds to play. If they converted, it's a two-score game, and if they failed, they're still up by seven. Especially after going for it on fourth down, it made no sense not to go for two. They literally cost themselves the game. On a side note, I hope the woman on the sideline is all right. It looked like she got her ankle rolled up.
Edit: For those of you getting so hostile about why this line of thinking is wrong, you're missing the logic in this. SHSU clearly thought that a four-point lead would cost them the game. That's why they went for the TD on fourth down. They were essentially saying, 'After getting the ball back, we think that JSU will drive the length of the field and score.' But, they stopped short in their rationale, and instead of putting the game away, they put JSU in a situation, where they assumed that they'd have a good chance to tie the game. Even if they missed the two-point conversion, they still have a seven-point lead. There's no real logic in JSU driving the length of the field, scoring a TD, then going for the win. They'd almost assuredly play for OT. That's why these two value propositions aren't inherently equal. SHSU going for two and a chance at the win, while assuring themselves of no less than a seven-point lead had much greater value than JSU scoring a TD at the end of the game and trying to convert a two-point conversion for the win.
Nobody does that because if you go for two and don't make it the other team can tie with just an extra point. At least now the other team has to make a two point conversion which is obviously harder to make than an extra point
They banked on the defense to do the job and it didn't pay off.
No it’s good to not go for two. Because that makes the other team have to go for Two. Learn football.
On an additional side note I laid a 16 leg parlay and hit 1/4 of them tonight with JAxville st moneyline being the last 😂 fingers crossed for tomorrow
I agree with you. It's a win/win. Either they can't win, or at worst, you tie. By going for XP, you aren't putting the game away.
This is the second time this year that a maroon-colored team beat an orange-colored team with a feline nickname on the road in overtime in a conference game at the American South. Coincidences are fun.

@@saintbrownthetrojan The first game I thought of was the South Carolina game, because I made the gamecock connection, but that was last year and it didn't go into overtime. It also hasn't been a conference game for the last 50 years, so there's that.

This is almost exactly what happened in my dynasty with Sam Houston in week 11 vs Jville State.
Not quite as big a win as when J'ville knocked off FSU two years ago, but still very impressive.

SHSU snapped the ball on 4th and goal with 23 seconds left on the play clock and a running game clock. Jacksonville St downed the ball to stop the game clock at 18 seconds before scoring on the next play. Tough break.
