That's so interesting. I HAVE A "I MET MICHELLE OBAMA" story that I have told 1000 times since 2008 when I met her in Las Vegas! The part that makes me tell it to anyone is how SHE WENT OUT OF HER WAY to shake my hand when others had stepped in my way several times OR pulled her in for a hug AS SHE WAS REACHING TO SHAKE MY HAND. WOW! Yes, I have never forgot what she did, and I NEVER WILL.

I was never an Obama fan nokr a Michelle fan until the little girl who met her at 2 or 3 and got to meet her Ms Obama was gracious and asked what she wanted to be and the little girl said President. . Especially when she's making money to give her two daughters living in Los Angles. Oh how I wish people would stop calling them Former First Daughters. It's an insult to Chelsea Clinton, whose conduct, post White House days is par excellence.
For the record, I'm an African American mother.
I listened to her book once, but I plan to listen again. It was so cool to hear her read it to me. I felt like she was sitting in my living room with me telling me her story. IT WAS PERFECT!

My High School Counselors definitely didn't try to keep me from succeeding. I was excited about going to school every day. Mr. Gingrich, Mrs. Bernstein, Mr. Merlino, Dr. Norman Dpencer, Ricardo Martin, Mrs. Gaddon, Dr. Gaddy, Mr. Tomasco, Coach Hill, Coach Morgan (gymnastics), Coach Hamilton, JV Basketball. Dr. Benjamin Peterkin at FAMU, my Professors at Tempke, Community College (even when I was pregnant), my teachers at The Art Institute excited me every day. I felt alive. Because I used to sew my outfits every day before I went to class, they gave me fabric. When I ran out of fabric, I made clothes with my curtains. My dance teacher st Stephens School of Dance, Rhonda. You cant just have hope, and joy to make it through. You have to have Passion.

I now understand why many people from many paths of like admire Mrs. Obama. Her words are wisely chosen and when she speaks I listen, even if i am doing other things around the house I find myself pausing the fast past life i have and look at the screen and get sucked into her message. I have a short attention span and only about 5 percent of things happening in media grab my attention and she is one .
