I didn't have a zipper foot, ordered it online, and meanwhile just sewed it on by hand. Took me about 5-10 and looks just as good as with the sewing machine.

I tried to attach my very first invisible zipper today as a beginner to sewing, I did manage to get it sewn in, but it wasn’t close enough to the teeth. Your method makes more sense and you use the normal zipper foot that is the default type with most sewing machines. Thank you. 😊

Your tutorial makes the most sense! I saw a 40 min one that just confused me even more. Thank you for actually having the camera in a POV where you see everything going on. Other videos only record about halfway above the invisible zipper, and I can't see what's going on at all for the entire thing.

this was the easiest tutorial ive found so far. the others are very confusing. going to try it now! hopefully it works out for me and my cute lil tennis skirt
this reply is 2 months late so hopefully that means your cute lil tennis skirt is done, and if so, how'd it go? I hope it worked out!
I use this method, and it's the best. I do use the special invisible zipper foot, though. It automatically positions the needle where it should go, so i recommend it for beginners. I also move my needle position slightly closer to the zipper teeth with my machine, as it gets better results. Another thing I do is to use a zipper that's a bit longer than the opening so the zipper slide can be slid down past the end of the garment opening so it doesn't interfere with stitching the zipper.
