1:36 well, you can access internet with a dumbphone. I have a Samsung SGH-C207L from 2004 with internet browser (can’t load anything today, but worked back in the day). I also have more Nokia phones with S40 OS and internet browser (some of them even come with Opera mini pre-installed). 5:16 nokia s40 phones from 2010 come with OVI maps preinstalled (Nokia 2730 classic is an example). 3:43 Nokia s40 phones also have an App Store (called OVI store). Honestly, I wish "dumb phones" came with a striped down version of android. Some countries are completely reliant on whatsapp for communication and regular text messages have been phased out (we use them only to get login codes now), so true dumb phones are basically useless around here because the only thing they can do is calls. I still see some listed as "for old people", but most old people already know how to use whatsapp, they're just confused by the rest of the phone, so restricting them to calls only as a default is a bit too much. But yeah, the cat s22 is more of a "work phone". It's very useful if you want the feel, durability and price of a dumb phone, but still need access to essential or useful modern phone features like maps, banking apps, uber/lyft, etc. And maybe have some music or simple games just in case. Gaming on this phone feels like the definition of "you can, but why would you?", it seems very uncomfortable
There are application to force rotate the screen but I'm not sure emulators can detect the buttons or not but I think they might because these emulators detect volume buttons on "normal" smartphones.
Oh I was looking for a similar phone for my grandad, I wish this was available in the Czech Republic (with Czech language on it) as he doesn't speak English - he wouldn't have to learn how ro use a digital keyboard on a smartohone 🙈 What a nice device!

The phone has a pre-installed "Kika" T9 keyboard to be used with the keypad. In order to switch to it, you need to pull down the quick settings menu and select "Choose keyboard". I would not recommend using Kika, but, instead, getting the "Old T9 Keyboard" as it has many more features and even has a fix for a multiple key press bug that many CAT S22 Flips develop (I have had 2 CAT S22 Flip phones and both of them got it, the third one will probably get it during its life time when I switch to it in the unfortunate event my current CAT S22 Flip flips out :D).
@@reda-exe Nah, I got 3 because they were on sale super cheap. I didn't have to replace my 1st phone as this keyboard bug is present in all of them and it is an easy fix with the Old T9 keyboard.
I get what you mean but, the fact that it's a flip phone should deter you from trying to download these typpa games on that phone. Are they playable? Yes. Is it the best experience? No, for most people getting a cat 22, they probably already have a smart phone (which they can use to play these games). I get it, the point of a dumb phone is to get rid of these fancy features and dumb it down to the most essential ones. Like by example, I started using my blackberry classic as a work phone (emails and all that). I do have the playstore downloaded it and you'd be surprised at the number of apps you can download because of the android 4.3 run time on BBos 10. But for the most part the apps downloaded from the playstore or the ones that I sideloaded just have a subpar experience, it's so slow and janky. Many of the old "dumbphones" could indeed access the internet, the better ones had something called WAP an internet protocol , and could surf the net, but slow compared to todays electronics
in '87 i was using a brick at work for a few years. 10 years later a candybar or two and a few flips for 10 more years, then the LG GU 230 Dimsun (lol) slide phone. best phone ever. so then i went for the Nokia 2720. loved that also, but not sure if its hardware or software that would turn the phone off at random. i saw the cat s22 a couple years ago but was too much $. i noticed now price is half what it used to be. got mine from amazon today. chonkier and heavier than expected, but so far loving it. i dont mind that its not dumb, i can still use it as if so. my 2720 would have been retarded with its kaiOS. its mainly for phone and maybe some text. i DL'd the "old T9" app so i can use the keypad without skipping a beat from my older phone and skip the touch screen keyboard. ugh.
It good for people going to 3rd world countries and and wanting all the accessibilities of modern cell phones without the fear of getting robbed for one

Hey, very nice video!!!!! I was looking so long and I was FRUSTRATED. All the negative resumees, nokia 6300 4g and 8000 4g being out of stock and so on. Now I am very happy they are, BECAUSE LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY. It can do everything, looks cool as hell and the screen size is just perfect. Imma go ahead and watch the last minute of the video, one last question tho. Is this a dumbphone? 😉
so much potential, limited by its ram at only 2gb i think it bottlenecks it more than the processor but im not sure, thats why its running androidgo. not trying to unplug just like the design and size. would be nice to compile revanced on it but the 2gb might mean the patcher will fail, at that point you have music, gps, text, call, email, remappable buttons, physical buttons for those that like that sort of thing, not a blackberry style keyboard but thats fine too, its not a deal breaker to type using these styles of numberpads.
I consider it a dumb phone and the real dumb phones stupid phones for a specific reason. The S22 Flip comes with Android 20, but due to the annoyingly small size and the ability to disable on screen keyboards, it can make web browsing feel like hell, but you can use google assistant to use stuff like google maps and such similar to a Nokia 2780. It's in no way a dumb phone but a midpoint between smartphones ad dumb phones.
And this is exactly why i want to buy it. First, it looks like a dumb phone but runs like a smartphone. That's pretty cool to me. Second, i still messenger, whatsapp, teams , moodle for school. Third, the screen being not too big will have me spending much less time with it and it might end my smartphone addiction
Looking at this phone for loud and clear calls only. iPhones are mini computers that happen to make calls. It’s not sustainable for me anymore. Keeping the iPad mini for videos, etc.
It would be even less like a dumb phone if it allowed for an actual Ps1 controller to be plugged into the phone for playing roms. I do that with my A53 phone.

Many of the old "dumbphones" could indeed access the internet, the better ones had something called WAP an internet protocol , and could surf the net, but slow compared to todays electronics
How is the call/speaker clarity?
speaker audio has a bad echo on the other persons end, regular calling is fine
in '87 i was using a brick at work for a few years. 10 years later a candybar or two and a few flips for 10 more years, then the LG GU 230 Dimsun (lol) slide phone. best phone ever. so then i went for the Nokia 2720. loved that also, but not sure if its hardware or software that would turn the phone off at random. i saw the cat s22 a couple years ago but was too much $. i noticed now price is half what it used to be. got mine from amazon today. chonkier and heavier than expected, but so far loving it. i dont mind that its not dumb, i can still use it as if so. my 2720 would have been retarded with its kaiOS. its mainly for phone and maybe some text. i DL'd the "old T9" app so i can use the keypad without skipping a beat from my older phone and skip the touch screen keyboard. ugh.
8:06 thats the dumbest thing why would they put the alpabet on the phones keyboard and only use it for numbers (guess thats why it is a dumbphone xD)
dude its so frustrating! yeh that makes it a pretty stupid phone 😄
It good for people going to 3rd world countries and and wanting all the accessibilities of modern cell phones without the fear of getting robbed for one
Does it run Minetest
Does it support android auto?
I dont hate smart phones per se i just love flip phones and physical keyboards. Might think about getting this phone when my current phone caputs on me its almost there haha. I do love the touch screen festure here though.
4:36 ANDROID 11 !!! Wt my s7 is running 8.0 💀
Hmm next future phone? 😂😂
How can I buy it ? 🙂
sorry for late reply. Search S22 Flip on Amazon or see my link in description. The link is an affiliate so disclaimer: if you use that I make a commission.. I think 5-10%?
Me watching this on my cat s22 flip
Does the iPhone 2G count as a dumbphone
I don’t think so but.. I want it 🥹
@@johnzoid74 oh
I have one
Hey, very nice video!!!!! I was looking so long and I was FRUSTRATED. All the negative resumees, nokia 6300 4g and 8000 4g being out of stock and so on. Now I am very happy they are, BECAUSE LOOK AT THAT BEAUTY. It can do everything, looks cool as hell and the screen size is just perfect. Imma go ahead and watch the last minute of the video, one last question tho. Is this a dumbphone? 😉
Yes, but does it play doom?
Of course 😏
does this phone support slack app?
Dude where is your new video, ?
I post Saturdays. This is the new video
@@johnzoid74 ill wait 😶
I think this video just told me 10 reasons my Android Opel Touch Flip 4G is not a dumbphone
so much potential, limited by its ram at only 2gb i think it bottlenecks it more than the processor but im not sure, thats why its running androidgo. not trying to unplug just like the design and size.
would be nice to compile revanced on it but the 2gb might mean the patcher will fail, at that point you have music, gps, text, call, email, remappable buttons, physical buttons for those that like that sort of thing, not a blackberry style keyboard but thats fine too, its not a deal breaker to type using these styles of numberpads.
6:03
how contradicting
🤔
you can make a good matpat impression
See if you can get video out from the usb port to connect it to a monitor.
Great content. Subscribed!
Bro this literally runs smoother then my own phone feels like my phone is dump😅😅
Does it have Bluetooth?
Yes
It would be even less like a dumb phone if it allowed for an actual Ps1 controller to be plugged into the phone for playing roms. I do that with my A53 phone.
Does a smartphone that is so old that it can't connect to the internet anymore count as a dumb phone in 2023
hah no i don’t think so at that point it just not even usable 😂 touch screen disqualifies is 🧐
The cat s22 flip we’re do you get all of theses phones and also 222k subs congratulations🥳
hey what’s up man thanks for watching 😎 I just love them so I either collect, buy, or have them sent to me. I have a video that got 117 million views and it brought over 100,000 subs.. I am learning what people would like to watch! So in the last three videos I feel I’ve made some good progress. Really, thanks so much for watching ❤️
WOW BRO THATS AWESOME
It’s a flip smartphone.
can we record a call in this phone... if yes then i would love to have this phone...
Nah, people wouldn't be able to tell you are a foreigner if you brought the latest iPhone. People here get in debt just to have the latest iPhone and "look cool"
They should make another version but replace the keypad with qwerty keyboard
yeah is not a bumbphone but in the real dumphone i can`t donwland the utilitary apps like the bank app or train ticket app that i use and life without it is too much for me because i don`t wont to search an ATM evry time that i want to see how much money i have left. i think is the perfect compromise to have a phon that i can use daily to do my daily tasks and simply dont`t install the distractors apps on it and turn neraly all the notifications off
Can I use instagram on this phone?
If you already own an Android you don't need to buy a dumb phone. If your device supports it, go for a googleless ROM an that's pretty much it.
It's literally a GameBoy phone. Play in portrait mode with the arrow keys and 1/3
Imagine saying your phone could run GTA games 15 years ago.
You can also use bereal on this
Coolest Phone Ever
this is facts :)
did you won the pubg game on the cAt PhOne
no I did not unfortunately 😂
oh another challange try to defeat ender dragon@@johnzoid74
I use mine for Pokémon go cuz it feels like a proper Pokédex lol 😆
Oh shoot. I didn't even think about this. I plan on making a list of the apps I had from my Android that I want to download on my flip phone and that's definitely going to be here.
6:04 not a smartphone
Amaizing😮❤❤
Thanks RNS 😎
@@johnzoid74 😍
Why don't you try any Nokia lumia's.
The only problem with the Android is the privacy and security reasons... except that Androids are the Monsters
You can probably put another OS on it easily ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@juste.une.mouche fr but it's too much of a headache and also it's not available here
i wish this was available in my country.
You have a really nice voice
And what is Nokia N95? That thing had wifi
I wonder if it works with Android Auto...
Its a wise phone
Not dumb not smart lol
Dude u r still uploading vid 😢 keep it up navee give up 👍 but I m very sad fir u 😔
lol why are you sad
@@johnzoid74 your channel has been dead
@@memerhood._. that is an odd comment. channel isn't dead. I regularly receive about 7k subs a month, and approx 4m views a month. mostly through shorts. long videos get views, but they get views delayed. a video posted about 12 days ago is getting picked up (will an ipad 2 work in 2023) at about 18,000 views. as well a 3 month old video called (gaming on a smartphone), with 75,000 views. It is very important to be persistent here, and enjoy the process. I enjoy doing both thank goodness.
@@johnzoid74 👍
pls try to run yugioh master duel on the phone
Can you play mobile legends on that phone?
4k flip phone touchscreen android 11 Cools
Wrong! Dumb phones are not all phones with keypad, just like smartphones are not all phones with touchscreen
You had two reason number eights
It's not dump phone because it has Android and touch screen
It can run call of duty mobile fine but can't run a PSP game huh
Does it have Bluetooth?? 😭😭
Yes, BT 4.2
it looks like a flip phone. it performs like a flip phone, but its a dumbphone? (jk)
Watch this video. It has very useful information and it's FUNNY😂😂❤❤
