Perfetta in tutto: vocalità superba, tecnica di fiati con un controllo da manuale e domina la scena anche con un solo sguardo..... Una Norma cosí ci sará ancora.... ? Chissá......
While nothing tops her 1974 Paris, “Orange Norma,” I dare say Montserrat’s acting in this production is her very best, and some of the best in all of opera. Without going overboard here’s such realism, expressive physicality, good use of space, and genius use of props! Dramatically, she’s on fire, in the zone, living and breathing Norma. Brilliant and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️
Principe Turandot , you are a true artist to notice all the detail you listed. You see the entire picture, not only her glorious singing. And yes, what a production this was! This costume in the 1st act is beautifully designed and suits her so well . It is easier to see than all of the black costumes which are also beautiful. It’s just the light grey is easier to see. She truly was the Norma of the 70’s, and very likely of all time. Principe Turandot, your comments are always spot on!!! Thank you!!!

La voz de Pedro Lavirgen siempre increíble, valiente ,sin reservas ,un lujo su gran interpretación. De la grandísima Monserrat Caballé seguramente ya se ha dicho todo. La mejor Norma de todos los tiempos y su voz inigualable,irrepetible
Caballe voice is not as good as it was four years earlier in 1974, but she’s still the second best Norma after Callas in the post war period. I listened to Sutherland’s Norma from 1978 and hers is not a Norma where I felt moved. She presented Norma not as Callas and Caballe, but more of a vehicle to show off her coloratura capabilities. Norma is much more than that! Yes, Norma requires dramatic coloratura, but coloratura combined with real gut wrenching pasos.
