Am back to commence the Medical Journal: Gameplay: -› 0:16 - Syncopations for this part do not line up; it fits better as a classic 7-beat. Apply to all repeating instances. -› 0:25 - Is the 4-beat really necessary? Seems like it would work better as a normal 7-beat. -› 0:44 - Would work better as a ---×--- -› 0:48 - Would work better as a -----×- (swing doesn't really fit in there?) -› 0:51 - Would work better as a -×---×- {1 tick in between} -×---×- instead -› 0:54 - X's in the first beat. Not legal. Not audio-friendly. -› 0:59 - The 3-beats would work better as a ---×---. The beats are too fast paced for the current pace of the previous beats. Apply to all repeating instances during the chorus. -› 1:00 - Would've preferred this to be a more VFX-centric part. Just a simple fade to black and then cut to white flash to make the entrance of the fairy more emphasized. -› 1:03 - The beat is just off. Also, it works better as a normal 7-beat or a ---×---. -› 1:09 - This beat just seems unnecessary. It doesn't seem to follow any beat. Also, breaks between beats are ideal; this is a somewhat slow song that is being charted, no need to rush the beats. Silence during charts is never bad. -› 1:18 - Ok, now the 7-beat can be a 3-beat. It just has way too much going on there, and the beat itself is slow-paced anyways. -› 1:21 - Swing seems off. Can't really tell how it is off because I haven't opened it in the editor yet. -› 1:49 - Not how multishots are cued nor used(?). Could go in-depth later once I see it on the editor. -› 2:18 - Missed opportunity for a Classic Row + Oneshot Row pattern wherein the classic is just a slow beat (foreshadowing for the upcoming climax of the chart). Also, you don't need CPU to cue that. Just use Nurse. -› 3:57 - Ok that part is actually cool. Great charting decision there. -› 4:09 - Last beat tho. Seems a bit unnecessary. You could have the level end there quite frankly. Visual Effects: -› First of all, great art, as per usual. -› I wished that the character interacted with the floor of the background a little in the beginning, and then gradually began floating as the song goes on, and then returned to be on the ground. It just adds a little bit of narrative flow to it, no? -› I hoped that the fairy was a tad bit transparent, not for readability mind you, but for aesthetic, that is, to show that they are a ghost. -› The camera movements and VFX Presets definitely fit in with the level. Greatly enhances the experience, if I say so myself. Summary: uh...a lotta stuff which I think could be improved on (personal opinion), and some others that have to be improved on for level fairness. The VFX is great, as usual.
