It’s a kids cartoon. It’s already a kinda dark moment to leave them in there for all those years but it’s played for comedy. Seeing a skeleton would just be disturbing to the audience and ruin the image of the main characters. It’s for one thing to play for comedy years long imprisonment by total negligence. It’s another to essentially end the show with the main character killing his grandfather by accident.

Yeah, like the more I think about it the less this bad end makes sense. The whole show up to that point made it clear that Manny would always prioritize his family first and foremost, regardless of being good or evil. The canon ending focuses on exactly that, along with Sartana's demise and Manny's family finally recognizing him as his own person.
This bad ending just seems more like a cheap gag over any sort of satisfying closure.

There was an outfit and some animations from this alternate ending that made it into Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2. This ending gives me an idea for a future Nicktoons crossover game involving heroes infected by the Evil Syndicate, and it’s not Kart Racers or All-Star Brawl if you’re wondering.

Manny really decided to speedrun his "Anakin/Vader" arc.
I remember reading the description of this ending and seeing screen shots on the wiki. I had no idea it was fully voiced and animated. Should have known it was, it was left up to a vote. They would have needed both. I'm glad good won the vote but it was cool being able to see the villain path animated.

Apparently, the creators of this show had plans to continue it into Manny and Frida's high school years. Manny would date Zoe Aves while Frida would have a few different boyfriends, most notably, Dr. Chipotle Jr. Maria would also pass her gauntlet down to Frida who'd become the new Plata Peligrosa, fighting crime for no more than one hour a day. Eventually, the two would marry and have three children: One good, one evil, and one who didn't know which side they wanted to take.
But then, Nickelodeon slated this show for execution...

Honeslty, if the Ending was just Manny taking over the world and freeing Freeda (who later betrays him by trying to overthrow him with his Dad and Granpapi) I think that would have been more intersting. Just Rebels fighting a mad teen or adult El Tigre whos using the Guitar powers for himself.

How is the grandpa still alive ?
I still think this one won and they rigged it. Like when a character in the Invisible Man TV Series had a voted on choice to join with a guy who's going insane due to brain poisons(the same stuff that lets him go invisible makes him crazy). The fans voted for him to do it, since we kind of hated everyone in the show but the Invisible Man and the one making the choice. He kept to the evil path for all of 3 minutes before he reversed his decision.

This show was great, my favorite episode will always either be the guacamole monster episode or the grave escape
I remember seeing that ending before it was crazy. But I’m glad that Manny chose to save his family other than rule the earth with Jango and Santana. Those selfless acts over the course of the series did show he was fit to be a hero. And cutting off his chain hand to stop the lava from intercepting was genius but risky. I really hoped that wasn’t his real hand yikes. Frida retrieved but it crumbled, Manny even lost the spare when the lava wave hit their house.
