I miss your "What People are Wearing in NYC" videos 😢
Me too
Does she not do them anymore?
Me three 😊
Same. It’s been quite some time now🥹
@@rheahalona She had Fashion Weeks in Milan, Paris, etc. in February/March. And she was ill last month.
I do think finding jeans that fit perfectly is like finding a needle in a hay stack. I alter most of my jeans to fit. Tailoring is by life , my business. I recommend finding a wonderful tailor to help look your best.❤
honestly I don't see the point of browsing that many shops, when just going to the tailor will do the trick !!
I agree, I’ve been amazed at how effectively good tailoring can improve a waistline’s fit.
I finally, finally figured out that wearing a belt really helps!
The jacket is a reinterpetation of an early 80's Guess coat that combined two different denims, stone wash and a grey denim that was called 'off the wall'.
I love watching you shop! I'm not much for buying much now since I'm retired. Karen, I look forward to an episode of Where Did You Get That! 🥰
Im Retired too but find I buy more adventurous clothes now because people have already written you off unless your clothes say ' im interesting' xxx
I suggest you go vintage shopping when it comes to Levi's. They're way better when someone has already broken them in. I love Levi jeans even the vintage ones have lasted the longest in my wardrobe.
I think I found the style you’re looking for: Zara stovepipe jeans.
They’re cropped and slightly flared at the hem.
Very reasonably priced too.
Agree. Zara is great for jeans and always on trend. I always hit Zara up first and at 5’10” size 4 I wear at Zara, I always manage to find one pair that ticks all the boxes.
So real ... hunting THE jeans is never ending. You are exactly right about the leg shape. All the straight jeans are tapered at the moment and not real straights.
So effing bad!!
Randomly, Jean culture has brought me back to department stores. It’s just the easiest most logical way because you can see all the brands denim / compare them / and even see designer denim like Acne Studios or some newer brands that you just don’t get if you go to individual boutiques. Good luck on the hunt! I just found a great pair - AG denim - but all people are so “on trend” that there were no sizes in the store 🙄 so I’ll have to suck it up and buy online even though I prefer in store shopping ❤ xoxo
I enjoy watching you shop but I want what everyone is wearing in NY always interesting and real people with unique style
Loved the video… The last shot with you standing in the garage with that red pole behind you, above your head matching your bag!!! 🥹 it’s the artistic expression for me!!! Thank you!
Over the decades I have purchased so many different jeans, some of them very highly priced. Now it ends up that the jeans that fit me the best and are actually really comfortable are from the Gap! I have since given away all the pricey ones! 😀🇨🇦
Gap, they are killing it!
I agree with you I had ones that are a tint bit short not roo short with a kick flare ever so slightly, so comfortable but unfortunately too big for me at the moment
I’ll say it again, people sleep on the Gap ! I always find mine there and I buy online. Haven’t been in the store in ages. I hate stretch so I look at non-stretch versions. J. Crew is another favorite of mine. I put that in a comment when she said she was going to make this type of video.
i loved your natural curly big hair style❤
Had a denim skirt just like that in the 70’s. Love it
Every pair of jeans will fit differently. You need to know what size waist and rising need and probably bring a measuring tape or have that measured. But they can be altered. I’m short and I need to have them altered frequently.
"Don't want jeans that stretch." I'm with you !! Karen, you related to us all in this search to try on clothes. Much love 4 documenting this. Rooting u on. Yes, old jeans were the best!
i hate jeans with stretch. yes i get the comfort but i'd rather the right cut in rigid
@@KarenBritChick SAME!!!!
All cotton jeans have the potential to become a personal work of art over time, with stretching and gentle fading. Ppl now have no idea what they’re missing.
Hi Karen! I love your hair a lot but sometimes I miss the curls :) I am with you since beginning of your channel and I am so proud of you
🎉 success you deserve ❤
I also love her curls, but I have to say this look and her wavy lob look are my faves.
I love watching your shopping process.
Yesss to a series on jeans (and or denim as a whole). You have given me renewed courage to shop for jeans again, merci beaucoup ! Btw that jacket at BG was gorgeous on you!💙
I always have good luck with GAP jeans.
I love denim, but finding the right fit and style is a real (frustrating) challenge. good luck on your perfect jeans quest.
Thank you! You too!
I love this video . Shopping is so much fun!
Alteration is key! Get the jeans that has the most potential and get it altered to your body shape. It’s a game changer for me. less stress going around shops looking for the perfect jeans when you can create one for an already existing one. ❤
Pointless, if you have to pay twice, plus headache of finding someone good to alter the clothes. I personally dont want that headache. If i walk into a shop, I expect any purchases to fit correctly, so I'm not wasting time, with returning or altering. (Which is why i dont like online shopping). Doing returns is inconvenient.
You are like an addiction. You are both absolutely gorgeous.
i thought it was just me...with the jeans thing. Being old....i now know that good jeans are like the weather....some years they are great and some years they are shitty. when i find a pair that fit I buy a bunch...cos i know the next year they're going to suck again. good luck:)
Yes! Grab more than one when you hit THE PERFECT ones
I always have same experiences, finding the right pair of jeans is the hardest thing to do! Loved the video! Thanks for taking us with you ❤️👍🙋🏻♀️
You're so welcome!
I have a kind of crazy denim collection. I purchase them all second hand and I love them. I have brand names, no names and just weird stuff. It's fun! I don't worry about the size. I eyeball everything. Each pair has a certain vibe and look great with different items of clothing I own.
I love your new hair style, so fresh and cool
I loved that jean jacket and those barrel leg jeans in Bergdorf.
Really enjoy all your NY shopping escapades-eye candy for me trapped in “mid” land w/ no inspo! I’m glad you’re feeling better as Spring is unfolding. 🌸
I recently settled on a pair of Old Navy Wow Boyfriend jeans of all things after a two-year search. I’m short-waisted, so midrise is a must for me, and I prefer the straight cut-totally agree tapered leg is an abomination 😆. At first I was motivated to shop in store, but ran out of patience and steam and turned to online.
Online is what I’ll be doing for jeans going forward-endlessly teetering on each leg in store after store isn’t my idea of a good time anymore, ya know? Looking forward to seeing what you find!
Zara, for sure, and the price point is great. I searched, “MID RISE STRAIGHT LEG CROP JEAN” and saw some good pairs. The Z1975 even flicks out at the bottom like you said.
I have good luck with Abercrombie & H&M lately also, this brand called “Closed” from Italy I am loving!
So love all your videos! Love your style. 😃😃
love that you are using a 4k camera now! so good to watch you big on the TV haha
Lovely music. The jeans with the front pockets are cute.
I love your "fashion on the street" videos. Love you all ways.
When I go shopping for jeans I always carry a thermos of martinis…
Hallelujah, amen and thank you for preaching the truth on jeans!! I struggle in finding exactly what you are looking for and have had the same thoughts !! ❤
The struggle
Love your energy and your videos Karen! Try Aussie brand Nobody Denim at The Outnet. You may like the Hardy High Rise Straight Leg which is cropped.
Love this video you going around the shop love your outfit and jacket 👏👏👏👏👏❤️🇬🇧
Thanks so much
I loved tagging along with shopping for jeans❤
Glad you do ❤
I love that skirt. I agree it's always a struggle looking for jeans.
I knew you was going to get the skirt, is so beautiful 😍
Karen!! This video is so on point. I have the exact same experience with jeans in the Netherlands. The only way to find a really yummy pair is to hunt for them at the thrift and vintage store. Do they no longer make great jeans??🤷🏻♀️. Also I wanted to say that your what people are wearing videos are so so good!! In my book they show the real streetstyle. The so called streetstyle at fashion month is just influencers wearing outfits on loan from the brands. Yes, they pick their outfits, but still. That is not genuine streetstyle, but marketing strategy (my opinion). I love your high/low mixing and your personal style is chef's kiss❤
Live in Texas but originally from the Bronx, NY. I love to see you walk through the streets of NYC shopping. I live vicariously through you now. Toodles.
shopping live is part of the fun for me
That is a great question! And, I struggle with buying multiple online or shopping in person all the time! I really don't know which is worst. I usually just end up going shopping IRL- for economic purposes- at least initially
Thank you Karen I’ve been waiting on the perfect Jean also
❤
I would, absolutely love to see you shop vintage classics like a 101 upload including jeans☺️♥️.
I always, love your unique eye for fashion♥️☺️♥️. Very chic and beautiful✌🏼.
Thankyou fantastic volg I'm on the hunt for the perfect jeans as well It's hard work x
I have my vintage denim gored maxi skirt from the 80's in perfect dark wash condition ! Back in style i see !
Vintage Levi’s always make your behind the best!
Awesome video as ALWAYS!
Shipping for jeans can be a lot. My favorite jeans are MOUSSY VINTAGE and GRLFRND ❤
I've been eyeing that same denim skirt from Other Stories! I wish they had it in black or grey denim but I think I might just have to get it, the shape is so beautiful.
It is
the agolde 90s mid rise straight (they have them in crop too) are one of my favourites. good indigo washes too 💙
Would love to see your irl walk about stores and give us a take on the collections in store
I can but they all play music so I can’t speak while in the shop and to me that’s the way to do it. I’d have to do text overlay and wait till I’ve left which I can
Wow what an adventure keep looking you will find them 🔥🔥❤️❤️😍😍💯💯💯
Hi Karen! Love your videos! Try Abercrombie & Finch. They've really done a great job recreating their denim selection. Best of luck!
My absolute best jean finds come from my local thrift stores. My fav wide leg jeans (vintage Pepe Jeans) I scored from the men's section at Goodwill. I also found a bejeweled straight leg as well at a Goodwill. I get tons of compliments from both.
Love your hair!!!
Thanks Karen, you are fantastic, 🌟
You’re a warrior, Karen. Thank you for doing the research for us. My jeans range over 3 sizes becuz you just don’t know until you try.
I love the music, and your style
You should try G-Star Raw denim jeans. I’ve always found a pair that fits. (For wider style jeans pick one or two sizes smaller)
You are so loved! I need to come with you when you buy jeans. I work at Free People. You always take a measuring tape (I keep a tiny one in my make up case ) You should take out your favorite jeans before you leave the house measure the rise measure the length, the waist and measure the hips. This way you are armed with knowledge about your body. Before you take things off the rack, you can measure them and say no this is going to be too big or this rise is going to be higher than I want. Last, regarding the barrel jeans from Free People, if you go up a size, they have more drape and more movement. Love you.!
Excellent idea!
I love the barrel levis
Same but too short
Same-I’ve no clue how I’d style them tho. Best for heels only?
love your energy! as for straight leg jeans, my favorite are Lee jeans. Test them out! oh, and they won't break the bank😂
❤ I feel you! I amdevoted to Banana Republic jeans. They fit fantastic.
I just picked up those COS jeans that you said were too short for you and I love them x
Nice
Totally agree that the array of cuts and styles that are named similarly makes jeans shopping a nightmare. I spent hours trying on jeans at guess where? OLD NAVY the place I thought I'd never be again but they had pair after pair that were what i was looking for, just not the wash, over-distressed in that perfect fit and fabric. I ended up placing online orders and wait with bated breath that my calculations will prove successful. TRY the OG straight! Choose your length.
So what I find is a lot of jeans fit Loose at the waist but if you get it tailored because some of the jeans looked Really good on you but for the back and the gap so you could get it tailored to fit.
I have the same problem!!! Love this vídeo!!! ❤
Time for tea and a Jaffa cake ❤
Jeans are very tricky..
Hello Karen.
I watched for long tedious search for a perfect jeans! Have you thought about purchasing from the men section because their jeans are sized by waist and length. That way you can find the perfect waist and cropped length for YOU! 😃 I hope this helps you end your search.❤
That had crossed my mind 😊
These day I do not have time like you mentioned, so do researching by internet on about 2:00 am and go and check those brands interesting (because materials must to be checked real one) on Thursday evening (less people) and order i them you think interesting from the online and let all arrive my home. Try them comfortably at your home with all your other to be coordinated with item and buy best one and return all back. This is most effective way as cost wise as well as best shopping method I achieved finally… you do not need what you don’t! 😊
Gap & Old Navy Jeans seem to be my go to jeans lately?
Lately I've had luck with Madewell and Gap, the high waist straight leg crop style but that was a couple of years ago now, the sky high style, which fit me perfectly in one wash and not the same at all in a different wash lol, as well we have Winners in Canada and I've lucked out there too bc they have many different brands, I have just started my spring jean search and so far nothing at all, so good luck to us all!🙌💫
Jeans are hard, R-13, Nili Lotan interesting brands for denim.
Great video.❤
The hunt for the perfect pair of jeans is PAINFUL, so I felt your frustration in the fitting rooms. I think your best bet would be vintage shops because they go back to a time where they cut clothes better and you will have so much choice at great prices! I'm sure you will find what you want... like the Camel Coat! LOL OG of this channel will remember that hunt!
I love, 1822 denim for its fit, not sure if they are on trend, but they work for me.
I would highly recommend Decade Studios jeans. They have size 25-40, fantastic cuts, and high quality denim
Hi Karen! I recommend you check out vintage Wrangler jeans- they’re a great fit, I have the ‘Texas’ they are my favourite cut! Good luck finding your favourite 😍
Hey Karren, I feel for you, I've done the same thing in London, In the end there is only one jean company that fits perfectly R13 - Expensive but premium Japanese denim . . . As you say time is money - Good Luck !!!
Agolde and Khaite may have some jeans.
Hi Karen, love your videos; have you tried the Gloria Vanderbilt brand jeans? I’ve always come back to them for a great fit (the waist ,hip fit is good along with a proper length
Not yet!
This used to be me!! I found and now loyal to Neuw denim - love the Nico Straight jeans (only 1% elastane) great price point, fit & retro wholesomeness vibe - totally recommend purchased in Australia and possibly available online globally
I loved the denim jacket and I highly recommend the Decjuba brand from Australia. I don’t know if you can get it over there.
Me too from Free People in black, off white and light blue love them!::
“ a bit of a faff”
The denim jacket comment made me giggle I’m so glad you’re still so British lots of love from the West Midlands England !! Have you watched this town yet I hope it’s on bbc America for you! X
After trying jeans at every price range I basically only get Top Shop and Good American jeans now. But I do like a little bit of stretch to my jeans mostly because it’s that stretch that makes jeans fit so well. I like the idea of non stretch denim and how it looks and feels, but ultimately fit matters most!
Rag & Bone Petyon Mid-Rise Jeans. I think they are bootcut, but they are truly not to me. They do exactly what you said, straight leg that just flick out at the end to match your hips. I love them!
I have the same problem with the waist gapping on jeans and madewell curvy jeans seem to fix that problem. They have some non-stretch fabrics too.
I loved the denim jacket
I'd hit the men's section for some Rustler/Wranglers Relaxed Straight fit jeans. I have long legs so I opt for 34 inch inseams, but they have a variety of lengths for that cropped look.
Love your videos slay sis 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗
This would be such a good marketing strategy for a new denim jeans line. lol
I need to create my bloody own
I like the vintage/preowned Levis 569 one waist size and than I crop to the length I like. They flair out just a bit to balance the hip line. Just an idea. The struggle is real.
That pair of jeans before the denim jacket looked good on you😍👏🫶
You have to try Mother and Veronica Beard!!
