      BTW, my organization skills are like your husband's. Luckily my wife is quite adept at organizing, but that said I'm a bit better at spatial reasoning so together we can get some things to work in places you wouldn't otherwise think. Good video, thanks for sharing!

    Hi Michelle - you tell Michael that there are many men and women like him. My daughters husband is a jewel and is so good to her and to my granddaughter but she has been trying to keep his stuff together for years. She has set up all kind of systems and bought all kind of things to keep his tools organized etc. So far it hasn’t worked but she concentrates on all his wonderful qualities and not the ones that causing trouble. Michael seems very handy with getting things done and helping you with projects. That’s a blessing. Your garage looks great. It’s really stormy here this afternoon. I got out of church before it started too bad but I was glad I took my umbrella. Thanks for the great video. Love in Christ

      For sure Donna. He is good with projects and good at keeping things organized but becomes very overwhelmed with clutter so he freezes. I’m kinda like that too to be honest.
      It’s pretty cold here today but so far no more rain. Hope you have a great week. ❤️❤️❤️

    Michelle!! My husband is a garage hoarder and I am absolutely struggling to get him to organize or do anything to clean it up. It's a 4 stall with only room for one vehicle. I'm watching videos to help me, that's how I stumbled upon this video! Thank you.

      Hello my friend. It’s so difficult when one person has a tendency to hold onto everything. Especially when all the things are laying around. Maybe if you can get him to move it closer to “his side” so that you can have at least 1 bay organized or free of clutter so you can park your car if you wish. 🚗🚘

    Nice job. I appreciate that it's "good enough" and not going for picture perfect. Love the tips on product especially for small tools.

    When you showed hanging your tools on the wall, it reminded me of part of my loft in the garage where I shove my mops and broom. Maybe I can do some of my tools that way. I also want to use the GIANT cabinet to put as many things in as I can. When they're organized, maybe I won't need as many shelving units, or I can use them for items in the backyard storage building, saving that for summer things. The only issue I have is that I need to do this myself because my husband died 7 years ago. But, I'm gonna prove I can do it.

      I would love to have closed cabinets in my garage. It sure would feel nice to not have to see all the visual clutter. I’m sure you understand what I mean. I bet you when you put your mind to it you’ll prove to yourself that you can do it. 👍🏼

    💐 Hi my dear Michelle! Your organizing is really really great!😊. You’re so right in getting everything up off the floor. You had a real challenge with all the tools etc. Michael was really nice about your organizing ideas. I have a challenge with my husband about the kitchen table. He wants to use it for much mail and papers that in my opinion should be upstairs on his desk but in his opinion he wants it handy downstairs! 😏. UGH! Oh well, every couple has to have their little battles 😜. I’m sorry my comment is so late, but I suffer off and on with depression, so I would very much appreciate if you would include me in your prayers. I hope your week goes well and thank you again for your encouraging videos! 🤗❤️👍🌸

      Hello Charby. I’m so sorry you’re struggling. Please try to remember that this will pass just as it has in the past. And speaking of the past, keep it there, you’ve already done all you can do and moving forward is ok to do. You don’t need to stay back there my friend.
      I’m praying that God will deliver you completely from this struggle.
      Sending you love my friend! You know where to find me if you need to talk. ❤️❤️❤️

    Nice work. For the nice wreaths, those can be stored in those large clear storage vacuum bags to keep them dust free. For some of the tools, a peg board above the work bench would help. God Bless!

      @@michellelowe-getinspired I have still yet to tackle or even try to tackle my spare room that has all of my old daycare stuff in it! It is your garage on steroids!! I’m afraid I’m gonna have to pay somebody when I have some extra pennies to come and help me get through it, lol

      I know that is so stressful. The garage was was a thorn in my side. It got where I avoided going out there, leaving in the laundry room whatever I needed to go out there and having Michael take it out there.
      Feels better now that it’s finally done.😁

    I am working in my garage too lately! I am trying to go in there weekly and clean it up and do a little decluttering each week. I’ve realized I need to put garage in my weekly cleaning list so it does not get such a disaster. I no longer have the energy ( I’m 58) to do a spring complete cleanout so I deducted I need to do it weekly like my bathrooms or other areas in my house.

    • @michellelowe-getinspired
      @michellelowe-getinspired  Рік тому

      YES! Me too. I saw this every time I do these deep cleans but never follow through. It’s certainly not my favorite area but maybe if I keep it tidy it won’t feel you daunting to me. 😬

    I’m reminded of Julia Child’s famous pegboard for her cooking pots & pans. Her husband actually drew the outline of each utensil - everything would be returned to its proper place! Gosh I need that in my garage! When I moved into this home 12 years ago, I had NO idea how my life would change and require garage updates. I need to pull it together….might be nice to store a car in there 🚗🚙

    We so need to do this! Also the shop and attic… we are working on an inventory of our stuff. Off the floor is the way to go! Where is your lawn mower? Did I miss it?

    • @michellelowe-getinspired
      @michellelowe-getinspired  Рік тому

      Hi Avee. Our lawnmower is in an outside shed on the side of our house. I’m trying to convince Michael to either put the wood chipper and pressure washer in their too or move out the lawn mower back into the garage and put all pool related things in the shed. It’s very small so doesn’t fit much but I think the three lawn things could, but Michael isn’t convinced. 🤷🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

    Maybe look at Peel-n-stick vinyl tiles for the floor. Much easier and cheaper to install and if it gets damaged you can replace individual tiles, which you can't do with a coated floor. The tiles come in lots of different colors and styles so you can do patterns or create "zones" in the floor, etc. There's a few videos on UA-cam about it, plus elsewhere on the web.
