I really can't believe how much better you teaching is compared to everyone else I have tried to learn from. Your explanation of the alphabet is so easy to follow and understand. Thank you so much!
I have eun an English training school for nine years. Written two in hiuse language books and developed a English phonetics course from beginners to advanced. This video is superb. I dont think you can be any clearer. Just need to practice to remember. Good teaching matters. This delivery is saving us who use it a lot of time. Its up to us if we get confused as there is nothing confusing in this content. Outstanding.
Your welcome. Great work should be recognised. I prided myself on especially on the first book I wrote for its clarity. To get the clearness you showed takes experience and a systematic mind. Its very hard to learn a language anyway. Getting unecessarily confused is unhelpful.
Khop khun na ka, Kru Smuk! Learned so much in just half an hour. You explained the MC consonants so well that made me able to read the 5 sentences at the end (tho I don't have any idea what it means except 2 sentences have the word "pen" in them.)
Congratulations for your first Thai sentences. It’s good to be able to read before digging deeper for the meanings. Once you master a basic Thai, reading skill then you can focus on vocabulary and conversational skills.
thank so much for this lesson, teacher. I have watch a lot video from other teacher and I can tell this's the best guiding lesson ever. I don't mean the other lesson is not good enough, but you guys have to admit she's prepare her lesson plan very carefully and the way she teaches so slowly, it make Thai language easy to learn and understand, also make the Thai alphabet look less scary and less difficult for foreigner students.
Wow, I am so glad you got what I am trying to make. Thai scripts are quite complicated but it's really possible to manage in a way that it's well constructed, simple, and friendly. Thank you so much for your kind words na ka :D
This video is simply amazing. I watched it many times, it helps me a lot. I follow you and I will watch and study all your videos. Thank you very much for such amazing work you do in your channel. Gretings from Chiang Mai.
i havent been studying thai for long at all but i felt like it was a lot harder for me to get started with learning without knowing at all how to read or spell. the only languages i speak fluently are languages i grew up speaking, so its always been a struggle when i want to learn one from scratch. i want to thank you so much because after this video i could finally understand a couple of words' structure. ive had other sources and practiced the consonants but didn't understand how to construct a syllable. by no means can i read or even close, but these videos have already helped me a lot to make a foundation. thank you so much for making these available for free they're such a valuable resource!!! your teaching style is also so helpful, i have ADHD and am long out of school so it feels good to be able to learn something in a structured way that makes sense 🎉 i'm not even done with the video yet, i just finally felt a light bulb go off in my head so i had to comment my thanks lol!!!
@ Kru Smuk Your approach to teaching and compiling lessons is well structured. The notes & illustrations that you add to the slides (as well as mapping/matrices/other visual aids) help reinforce the material. Your lessons guide the beginner in a way that pulls them along, with new lessons building upon the previous lessons/concepts. This is the proper way to teach a language; you possess strong teaching acumen. I am definitely signing up for your course. I hope one day I may run into you when I come back to Thailand (you're like a celebrity to your student).
Khob Khun mahk Kru Smuk! thank you so much, great video and the way you explain it is so easy to understand! i learned a lot from you, keep up the great work, i will watch all your videos! sa-wad-dee!
Just to help you guys get more motivation just remember. You can get paid to translate so not only are u learning to be able to watch some bls without subtitles but u can make money too
Hi teacher. I hope you're doing well. Thanks for uploading this video. I've learnt Thai for awhile, and not to lie, you videos is the best among the best because you explained it well and detail. Based on the video above, would like to ask a question. As for จัก, you said it was J.A.K. the last letter, was it not supposed to be G?
Thank you so much, for teaching this one. Your content is really really amazing!. It's very easy to understand what you are talking too. GOD Bless. And keep making a very nice videos.♥️♥️♥️
Hi Kru Smuk, thanks for your very useful series of videos which help me tremendously with my learning. I have two questions regarding the final consonant sound: 1.consistent use of the rule At the 20:45 mark in the video you explain the fact that for consonant jaaw jhaan (plate) the ending consonant sound changes from "j" to a "d" (in your example not "aaj" but rather "aad". However you don't apply the rule of the changing consonant sound to any other case during the video. For example at 09:12 the "d" of daaw dek (child) should be come "t" to produce "gat", "dat", "jat" instead of "gad", "dad", "jad". Could you please explain what I am not understanding correctly? Why does the final consonant sound of daaw dek (child) not change? 2. The consistent use of the sound across various sources eg for jaaw jhaan (plate) the sounds of the initial and ending consonants is vastly different: 2.1 you use "j" and "d" 2.2 Wikipedia uses "ch" and "t" Is this merely a difference in transliteration convention? Your answers will be greatly appreciated! 🙂
Hello, thank you for a great video. One question please. I see in other sources that ค is pronounced d as beginning consonant and t as final consonant which is different to what you are teaching? Also same for บ b as beginning and p as final. Please could you explain?

Kob jai kru
Why is it that you write "deg" and "jag" but you say "dek" and "jak" ? The sound is g so why k?
The sound is not specifically g or k it’s ก. Romanised transliteration is just the best approximation and better to leave those behind. The sound is ก
Next time when you read up some thai letters make sure you can spell it down so we can understand and read it.
