Cleared it up so much for me with ur amazing teaching method mate ❤ 🤙. I dont find tones difficult to speak but learning to listen and recognize is what I need.
if you're indian - it's easy to remember the names of these tones. In hindi the numbers are "ek", "do (dho)", "theen"..I guess all indo-aryan language speakers will find it easy "dho is like two, tri is like three"). Also, the number's kind of resemble 1,2,3 (like 3 fallen horizontally by -90 degrees)
only now i hv more confidence after watching ur videos one by one. almost three years learning phasa thai in malaysia on part time basis i still got BLURR on tones mark. tq khu kruu. ur video's motivate me now with confidents
They kind of remind me of the 5 Chinese tones: Thai flat tone = More like the 5th tone/neutral tone. Thai low tone = Chinese 4th tone but less intense Thai falling = No direct Chinese counterpart Thai high = Chinese 2nd tone. Thai rising = Chinese 3rd tone but on a higher scale.
Thank you for your lesson. I found your channel by chance. Your lesson is clear to understand and well organized. Easy to learn even for me, non-native EN speaker.
Wait let me jump off a hill so I can speak the right Ah tone, I could never speak in tone, too many tones and so confusing, it's something that is out of this world for me.
Wow ...difficult but if we think...we have ( I' m Italian) similar ways to express : I see , here we go , oh noo and more ...simply changing the tune of a long or short A ...
Estou aqui, mas falo apenas um pouco de inglês Posso entender outros vídeos, mas neste vídeo não entendi uma coisa Por que as consoantes estão divididas ali em "Middle Class"?
เขา is pronounced as ข + ะ + ว (short sound) ขาว is pronounced as ข + า + ว (long sound) both are 5th tone (จัตวา , ๋ ) The rule is rather complicated. May be should use Tonal Table for learn.
I can’t remember all the tonalities of words. But I know how to conjugate tones so it helps me to know the tonal of words. Thai language has rules about tones, it will help you to understand Thai tones.
So I wasn’t crazy to be using my finger to help with the tones. Good to know
After years, this was the video that finally made me learn the 4 tonalities. Khop khun Khrap!

In Greek, we have five (5) tones too.
• flat tone/absence of tone [τι, ἐν, εἰς, ὡς]
• grave accent [τὶς, τοὺς, τὸν]
• accute accent [τί, τάξις, ἕως, ἔλα]
• circumflex [τῶν, τοῦ, τῷ, τῇ]
• inverted circumflex [‹Ποῦ;›, ‹Πῶς;›]
Very helpful. Until now i can only do ๋ correctly 😢. Good thing I have Thai friends who corrects me when i pronounce it wrongly .Thanks มากๆ

Wait let me jump off a hill so I can speak the right Ah tone, I could never speak in tone, too many tones and so confusing, it's something that is out of this world for me.

Por que as consoantes estão divididas ali em "Middle Class"?
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 awesome
make more thai phrases vdo please...
helpful!
Ainda não consigo sem usar a mão. Hahahahaha. Ou imaginar isso na minha mente.
Do you have a on line class
Thanks. Does a word have to have a tone symbol for you to know the tone? ie. if it doesn't have a symbol is it always the level/flat tone?
how to pronounce กวย that famous monk?
Southern Thai (Pak Tai) has 7 tones.😅
Another interesting lesson. How about making a tone test video. Where you say a word and we have 5 seconds to guess the tone before you tell us
That's a great idea! I will do that. 😃
Is there a difference in tone pronunciation if the same syllable is long or short? like เขา and ขาว
เขา is pronounced as ข + ะ + ว (short sound)
ขาว is pronounced as ข + า + ว (long sound)
both are 5th tone (จัตวา , ๋ )
The rule is rather complicated. May be should use Tonal Table for learn.
This chart applies to a middle class leading consonant, a long vowel and no ending consonant.
Come on now!!
As a french man, help.
How to remember the tones of every Thai word?
I can’t remember all the tonalities of words. But I know how to conjugate tones so it helps me to know the tonal of words. Thai language has rules about tones, it will help you to understand Thai tones.
The uphill and downhill tones are confusing if you first learned chinese 😢
