Brother I dont know your background, but you got the NPU wrong completely. It is not low power efficient core, it is part of the CPU tile only, while NPU is a seperate tile altogether, it contains the FP32 Multiplication in hardware pipeline. It is very different than the CPU or GPU micro architecture.

Thinkpad is mainly focused to business users. Companies provide ThinkPad to emplyess due their long life. But ThinkPad comes with U series processor generally & costly compared to IdeaPad.
IdeaPad series comes with U, P, H series processors. Better for daily use, general uses like web browsing, easy level coding, easy editing, ppt & report making etc depending upon processor category( U/P/H)

Still there is not any update from Intel, but there is no need to run core series after ultra series launching.
