Excellent results Harry, scale modelling at it's pinnacle. I will need to order a new set of eyes and steady hands before I attempt this on my Schnellboot!
Cool..watching video now..im enjoying following the boat build..anxious ck out the other two Harry..ive been feeling better lately..yea..getting a break..
This tip maybe useful for some people. Straight brass rod of any diameter can be made from wire. Just hold both ends in a couple pairs of pliers and pull. You'll feel the wire stretch a bit and it'll be Straight.
Loving the Schnellboot Harry! The rails are an innovative and measurable improvement on the kit rails. They are going to look so much better mate. Looking forward to the next update.
Very impressive. I have an old Ubout kit I'm doing and the railings are missing.( I think I accidentally threw them out) The original railings were out of scale so this my friend could be the solution.
Its very easy to get the two holes in line for the railings, if you made a little jig for a pillar drill it would be very simple and perfact. His video and knowledge is still very good.
At that scale just get aftermarket railings in either resin or photoetch. Or you could try using metal pins with some fine cordage or Ezyline.. but it would be pretty fiddly. I have used that method on a 1/144 submarine deck railing
Great tips there Harry!!
Glad you enjoyed it Nigel
Harry looks outstanding really makes it pop do you guys have any model contest there? that build would do fantastic.
Yes, lots of Contests next year. I might enter it and see what the rivet counting judges think.

I had to use my extra strong reading glasses and only work in the morning after a hot shower so my hands did not shake.

My three way review is scheduled to shoot Sunday and be available early next week..

Thanks for the tip David

Thanks Gary.. already halfway into shooting the next video.
Looks very realistic !! Years of experience shows in your work. Keep teaching us the right way.
Thank you Lawrence. Cheers!
Yes,give you a like already. But the railing, why you not use photo etch????
Too flat and at this scale it will look wrong. In 1:72 you need the roundness of the posts and rails, or it looks cartoonish.
A great improvement over the kits railings. Will make a try on my next schnellboot build.
Hope ot works for you as well as mine did for me
Bloody genius! I went and bought squillions of brass stanchions from the model boating world. Bugger!
Now you tell me I could have bought them! LOL
Hi Harry , great gig mate , simplè , and it works 😊😊😊😊😊
The simple things are often the best!
Very inventive way of doing what you needed. Works a treat 😉
Thanks Basil.. yes it was my solution, may be an easier way.

Hope they do the trick for you Peter.. the method works if you follow all the steps
@@HarryHoudiniModels yep I'll give it a go
Damn I guessi gotta grow some fingernails, I've always kept mine cut short
You can use tweezers
@@HarryHoudiniModels i do use tweezers but sometimes i think now that fingernails may work better. Those railings are over the top.
well done harry. looksa hell of a lot better. thanks for the video cheers tom.
Thanks Tom 👍
Well done, it looks great 👍
Glad you liked it matey
Great detail.
Thanks!
Outstanding fit on you're real wire stanshions! 🧐🙄😁☝️
Thank you Mike… it was a problem I wanted to fix

Then I was sent some 3D printed stanchions and did it all over again
Great job done Harry !! This looks just spot on.
Thank you kindly Jean. I am really happy with them.
@@HarryHoudiniModels totally understand it, this really adds to the realism.
..and kept me busy for a week having fun experimenting
@@HarryHoudiniModels so that was a real win win situation :p
WOW, Harry, Seen a lots of good stuff from you but those rails where the best. Thanks for the video@
Glad you like them!
How to this for 1/150 scale.......

Amazing craftsmanship
Thanks Alan
Still like it, even with some youtube ads...🤪
