Honestly I like the bells and the birds. Around here I just get traffic and construction noise, and people shouting. Thank you for taking us to Malta 🙏
I've probably watched this video at least 3 times, maybe 4. Mostly because I admire the Kheshig, but also because your reaction towards. It's such genuine excitement for a master crafted bow. Wonder who the 3 people are that disliked the video. It's mind boggling to think anyone would dislike not only a beautiful Bow, but also a great review by someone who really loves the bow itself.
mine arrived yesterday. oh my god! its soooo nice. black belly, clear back, shoots like a dream. feels like i have power in my hands. 50# @32". i'm in love. thanks for your reviews because i would probably have never led myself to this bow. im in awe
The best archery channel ever! I'm an avid Asian archer thanks to this channel, and I've purchased several bows from the reviews. My next bow is the Alibow Keshig, my favorite bow I currently own is my AF Archery Kadesh triangular bow; ancient Egyptian weapons are my favorite, and I own a steel Khopesh and plan to commission a bronze Khopesh soon. From an archery view, the Mongol horse bows are my main focus. Before I die I hope to commission a traditional Mongolian bow maker to make a traditional bow for me, unfortunately I live in a very humid coastal area. Armin Hamer is the best on youtube, thank you for all you do!
I love the go pro camera angles in this review. It really shows how arrows are flying. Pretty pretty bow! Syaihs coloring blending into the limbs is absolutely gorgeous. I'm so glad to see you got your very own keshig. You are correct some bows take a little but when you get it you get it. Good to see that smile! Thank you very much my friend for these excellent reviews and tutorials. Shoot straight my friend and teacher.
Totally agree with you. Those new points of view made me realize some of my flaws, also was a really unique thing to see, made the review more special :)
Very difficult to string. Shoot best with heavier arrows (Easton xx75 2315, 11.7gpi), even at 40#. Alibow sent first bow but USPS broke it and they sent another. Beautiful piece of work. Your review (both) were the reason I purchased this bow. Spur of the moment...my wife looked over at me as I contacted China! She understands the addiction. Thanks again.
I can absolutely confirm that it takes a while "until the bow loves you". It almost bought me to desperation, because I was unable to shot a single straight arrow. On that journey I also discovered that it is easier with heavy arrows (10gpp) and higher brace heights. and at one point in time the bow suddenly decided to like me, and now we are friends forever. It now shoots any arrow of any weight straight, on target, in the Parcours, or from horse back! Great bow!
I used the discount code and purchased one. It takes between 8 to 12 weeks to be delivered (mine came after 8 weeks). Thank you for the review, it is a wonderful bow.
I purchases a Kheshig just after Christmas. It is truly an amazing piece of art and quite a joy to shoot. I have had surgery to cancer, so have to go with a #25 or lower. Alibow made one for me at #22 and it is my 'little beast'. Thank you, Armin, for doing these reviews. Everyone should support Armin on Patreon for the wonderful work that he does. I like the church bells.
Am I alone in finding it outrageously funny when a bow is so fine that my favorite bow reviewer turns into Golem before my very eyes? Gorgeous bow, and something else that I can dream about in the quiet of the evening. Thanks for a great review.
Maestro!🙏 I feel very happy for you. Enjoy your Awesome Bow. Looks very Elegant bow, but in your hands I know you will make a great friendship with that bow. As always the super Pro camera angles.👊🤠 Enjoy Master Armin. Someday I can visit you, you let me do even a shot😁
Great video and a couple of new camera angles very good. Looks like a great second bow to add to my list. Glad to see Alibow got the bow to you as my advanced Mongolian hasn't come through yet but it will be worth the wait I am sure. Cheers Mark
I am new to asiatic archery and am learning much from your videos, so thank you! I just ordered this as my first REAL asiatic bow. (I have been using a very cheap fiberglass bow).
I watched this video a dozen times, I love the Kheshig - I bought mine thanks to your first video, I could see it on your face :) the smile said it all :P Great video, great viewpoints and great info. Thank you again for another beautiful review.
Just ordered mine after watching your reviews for what seems like a million times. The Armin discount sold me but I'm cheap lol.. Now just the waiting thanks to covid. Cheers Armin.
...wow, nice, can’t wait for the comparison of the three and congratulations on receiving your very own signed etched Keshig, may there be many more ☮️
Great review. Any chance we'll see a review of the Alibow Ming Emperor III or their laminated Tatar bow now that you've got your master review format down? I'd love to see a side-by-side comparison of those bows and the mighty Kheshig.
Man I watch this video way to often haha. But its mostly because my first bow ever arrived a few days ago, an AF Archery Tartar & my freaking dog ripped open the box & destroyed one of the limbs. My first bow, & it took awhile to get to me as well. But anyone with German Shepherds know how beastly they are haha. I laugh, but I was really upset... nay, furious when I came home to see what she did. But im confident that she learned her lesson if you know what I mean, anyways I ordered this mighty bow & cant wait to string it up & shoot. Thank you though brother, if not for your channel there is a good chance I would not of known of this mighty bow. You do a great job showing the details along with everything one would want to know before getting whatever bow you review. Take care
Now that you have a go to bow, perhaps you would make a video about arrow fletchings? 2, 3 or 4, what's the difference 😁 Also, you should consider making your rating 1 to 10. As most bows you rate are at the 27 points range.
Mine is a MkI 50#@28" but I suspect its a little lower than the marked weight. I draw it to 31-32" without any stack. Love it, although it was always noisy. It helped to wind up the string a little to a 7" BH. Recently I made it a new string in B50 as the original was fraying on the loops. I used the length specified on the Ali Bow web site- and its a different bow, much much more quiet with no loss in performance.
I make a lot of strings in several materials, mainly because I didn't like those i purchased- and it also means you can play about and find what works for the bow. Sring design plays a part- for these asiatic bows I use endless loop strings because they seem to work best, but I make Flemmish strings for all my recurves, they are more forgiving in the loop. Material plays a big part and dacron is very under-rated. Everyone wants fast flight, or something similar, but truth is many bows get on better with dacron, it soaks up vibration better. String silencers are also useful for some bows and there is an optimal way to mount these. Its funny because whilst I believe strings can make a big impact on how a bow feels and behaves, they are often overlooked by many bow builders.
@@esp224 Back in December, it took a little less than 2 months for me. I emailed them and received a tracking number for my order, which showed that it took more than a month to just clear customs in China. Also, (just as friendly advice) if you got a Kheshig, I would wrap the arrow pass with some kind of thin but durable fabric/material and put tape or something similar on the part of the limb where Armin showed the draw weight details. If, like me, you have arrow slap upon release, the glass chips on the arrow pass. Additionally, when I took my Kheshig out of the sleeve, once, the AliBow Chinese symbol next to the draw weight details partially peeled off.
Hi Armin, I was just wondering if you would be able to clarify why you choose the Kheshig in the 40# version, versus say a 50# (@28”). Would you say the 40# is a more usable bow if shooting for a long period of time? Also thanks for the great videos, this is one of the few channels where a 20-30 minute long clip holds my attention the entire time!
I got my Kheshig in late March after watching your earlier review of it. (I think it is the slightly older version.) As you say, it took some time till we became friends (had some problems with finding the right extent of khatra in the beginning), but I totally love it now =)
Oh man, I have so much to say 😁 First of all, finally you got your own Kheshig. I'm so happy for you 😁 I knew you would give it a 6 on the draw, but only 2 for packaging? Bow string and sleeve should be 3 points, no? I love the go pro footage, it's awesome. Best review ever, and I'm still watching the first one 😁 One thing I would not do is shoot anything bellow 11 grain. It just feels like dry firing for me. I shoot 600 grain with it and it just kicks the arrows away. As far as the weight goes, mine is 650 grams. They must have made it lighter with the new model. I'm looking forward to the comparisement with the older models. Thank you Armin for making my day 😁 I wish I can give more than one thumbs up
How often do you shoot your Kheshig? I only ask because how much you love it, I'd imagine whenever you have free time it'd be your bow of choice to just shoot for the love of it.
It looks like you are using the Alibow wooden arrows, right? Is this your preferred arrow for the Keshig or is there another you recommend? (I am thinking about ordering one of these beautiful bows myself)
Hello Armin, very intresting bow. What I never get is, that in full draw, string and Hand are relatively far away from your face - and your aiming eye. I cannot imagine, how you aime? With the left edge of the bow?

Li Zhang suggested around 12gpp for arrow weight on the newsgroup when I was commenting on what weight I was shooting. He said my 10.5gpp arrows were too light.
@@ArminHirmer can't argue with that. I spent days removing points & punching extra lead into the points to get the weights up. The new Siya design looks a bit like the ones on my new-ish Tang Chang-an. I've gone with 12-13 gpp for that as well to avoid further corrections lol.
@@ArminHirmer I think you'll be missing out. I just finished doing myself a set of 650 grain 32.5 bamboos & it doesn't noticeably slow down lol. It is nicely quieter though so it's stressing the bow less 🙂

Very tempting. Going to go luck. And a nice video.
Should I stick with manchu style arrows for this bow, or will appropriately weighted/length carbon arrows suffice?
I would choose arrow matching my max draw length on that bow and 12gpp heavy arrows
I really like the new camera angles when shooting.
Any chance you could get a camera to show what your sight picture looks like?
only if he had robotic eyes :-)
While undergoing cybernetic augmentation would work and be cool, I was more thinking elastic banding a go-pro over his eye.
I like the cybernetic augmentation personally, I think we could have an alternative UA-cam channel being worked up here.
na, but maybe a go-pro aimed at the target so we can better see shot groups

no, mostly an unclear release casues the arrows to wobble

Hi. Im Mmment am besten direkt. Ich versuche einen Laden in Wien dafür zu begeistern :) dauert aber noch.
@@ArminHirmer danke. Der Zoll ist hier in thüringen weit weg, würde das ungern selbst importieren.
I would add silencers...otherwise seems a great bow!
Can you explain twisting of the string? Thank you.
did a video a while ago
Armin Hirmer Thank you.
Nice design of the bow
I did it, I ordered one!
How would this bow go in hot conditions, I live in asutralia
Malta is hot too :) doing fine so far
Australia**
I want this bow!
As each measurement is read… a bell tolls in the background… ominous! 😂
Li Zhang suggested around 12gpp for arrow weight on the newsgroup when I was commenting on what weight I was shooting. He said my 10.5gpp arrows were too light.
they should write it on the website
@@ArminHirmer can't argue with that. I spent days removing points & punching extra lead into the points to get the weights up. The new Siya design looks a bit like the ones on my new-ish Tang Chang-an. I've gone with 12-13 gpp for that as well to avoid further corrections lol.
@@jonc67uk I will stick to 10ish app :D I see no need for more, unlike with a Manchu bow and massive siyahs and string bridges :)
@@ArminHirmer I think you'll be missing out. I just finished doing myself a set of 650 grain 32.5 bamboos & it doesn't noticeably slow down lol. It is nicely quieter though so it's stressing the bow less 🙂
Kheshig or Raptor ? ;)
both :D Raptor is almost double price
I hope I have the bow one day 😄
I have the same type of bow, same size, but it looks a lot smaler...
Hmmm are you bigger than me?
LOL! "MY PRECIOUS!!!" Awesome!
I did not find Kheshig as exciting as you did. It feels and shoots like pretty standard asiatic bow to me.
thats good, otherwise we would have no need for all the different styles of bows
@@ArminHirmer its neither good, nor bad. just the fact of life
Ok... I'm liking this bow... Not the look as much... But the rest... I love...
Long draw... Fairly quiet. Nice poundage
Very nice bow.
