I would be curious about the performance of the 2 new bows if you swapped the strings. Try the red string on your bow to see if the untwisted string would get you more fps and the twisted string on the other new bow to see if it degrades the fps. More fun; what can we play with next.

Maybe my two cents on the Kheshig, particularly the sound: I was also slightly annoyed by the loud kaawackkk and found that setting the brace height to 18 cm helped, but only a bit. But a new string made a huge difference. I replaced the original 14 strands dyneema string with a 16 strands high performance string (the stuff the Olympic recurve archers in our club use, which is supposed to be even faster then FF+). With the 16 strands the bow is almost silent, just a pleasant sonorous "thud" is left. And I think the speed did not change significantly.
But using a 14 strands string of the same material made the bow even noisier.
So it might be worth trying different strings if you don't like the sound.
I have the first version of the Kheshig, btw.

Very interesting lots of differences for the same bows but they do say the stranded stream is faster than a Flemish twist thanks again for another great review take care my friend God bless.

Hi! Good morning Mr.Armin!😀 A very detailed comparison. I can't contribute much because I don't have a Kheshig.
I just think the three generations have their sweetness. It is a very beautiful Mongolian Design and it has its elegance. The thing that makes me most happy is that you already have yours and you can enjoy shooting alongside the Malta Archery warriors. Cheers from your Friend and student. MV.🙏😀

When you mention twisting the string to shorten it to increase brace height, that this is not so good...
    Could you explain please?
How does your bow perform with the string untwisted at the lower brace height?
I always seem to end up twisting the string of my bows a little one way or the other to find the sweet spot with the least amount of vibration and noise, just sort of tuning to the arrows.
    Thank you.
A very interesting video as always and very good to see variations in what should be similar bows. As previously mentioned, I have been shooting the Flagella Dei Scythian for almost 10 years now and when it is time for a new one, I will often order 3 or 4 all the same and simply shoot them all to find the one which "feels" best for me and then sell on the rest.
With hand crafted products and variations in wood grain and quality of timber used these variations are to be expected.
Very curious about the lowest poundage bow with the fastest speed... string?
    Red is always faster 😜🤣

Thank you Amin ,this has made up my mind on which bow to make my own. Quality counts and the Keishig is a once in a lifetime opportunity for reliable bow ownership. Its wide and unorthodox, but that's what makes it unique ,and opens a class all of its own in traditional archery. The correct pony for this bow is my next task....maybe a Connemara..!!

I bought a kheshig after your review over a year ago. I bought a 25lb from alibow and draw it to 32". I love it. You are 100% right. They are awesome
My other bow is a 43lb Flagela Dei TAS Mongol. It's a bit to strong for me after 30 arrows but is very nice to use. It does have quite a large recoil at the end of the release. It would be nice to learn what you think about the TAS Mongol.

Recently ordered a Kheshig bc of your videos. Like with the Turkish Bow from Alibow, i come to you sir Hirmer on arrow length and spine recommendations. My Kheshig will be 40lbs at 28inches. I just wanna make sure I'm using the right things for these beautiful works of art by Alibow.

I have a 40lb at kheshig . I saw that yours fish tails so does mine no matter spine or weight of arrow but they all hit the target though mine bow stackes like crazy so not that much fun too shoot . I just ordered a 35lb at 28 will see how it is . Sounds funny but I still like the bow it is still very accurate . Thank you for the video review.

Takes a while to get that down. But once it's done, all arrows will work. Make sure your brace height is 7 or a bit more and do not force khatra . A bit string twist and let it happen

Thank Arimn is is me mark washtock incase You did not know lol
You were right about the brace height the 35lb had a 7.5 brace height I used that. String because the 40lb had 6.25 inch brace so instead of twisting like crazy I used the other .case solved
Also borrowed a scale and found that the40lb bow is actually 47lb at 28" 57 at 32"
That is why so heavy to pull lol

As a Last comparison i would Like to know how your Special bow behaves with a relaxed String.(brace height only 6,5) Is it less stiff? Is it faster?(it should) is ist smoother? And so on...

  • @gordonallison1055
    @gordonallison1055 4 роки тому +1

Batch variation, the fastest has the lowest mass- which makes sense. But I wouldnt read too much into it- you are unable to have replications, n=1, so any comparison is casual rather than analytical. Really you need several from each group, maybe at different draw weights, and compare means of speed for example, by analysis of variance. Then you would be able to detect significant differences between groups due to factors such as version, poundage etc. This tells you not that you have large differences- they may be small, but you'll know if the differences are reproducible.

Very interesting comparison. Now I'm curious as to why the speed was faster on the lowest poundage version. Could it be the twisted string?
One other difference that you cannot see because of the whipping on the old version is that the reinforcement in the handle in the new versions is shorter. The old version also has whipping underneath the leather handle which would make it slightly bulkier.
