    So many videos only "talk " about the features instead of demonstrating. Big deal. Many store employees won't take the trouble to demo their equipment and let it sell itself either. They should be paying YOU royalties for this demo. This is a real detailed demonstration thanks.

    Thanks for the Comprehensive demo Scott. Well done. I run my guitar and vocals through the T1 Mixer and have no problem getting a great sound with the S1, it’s a winner for sure.

    Thanks for your great reviews on Bose S1 Pro. I signed up to the AGF but my account got deleted before I could comment. Thank you for sharing your experiences. I came across your videos when I searching for a decent battery powered acoustic amps. You sound great, by the way. Have a great day!

    Great review Scott. I am totally stealing your idea for setting mixer nd pedals on the music stand! Never thought of doing it that way. I run through a Bose F1 in church and Love it. I’m thinking really hard on getting the S1 also for when I play out.

      Thanks. It worked very well while we used it but shortly after these initial reviews I change my entire system to just a Boss VE-8 pedal which replaced literally everything on that music stand with on unit that runs on batteries. We still use the Bose S1 though, in fact I just ordered a second one as a backup and to use when we need more power or a monitor or a satellite. It's an extremely useful system. I've got a bunch of videos besides this one where I show the latest setups.

      I'm glad that you have been able to simplify your rig. I owned the Boss V8 last year for a while then sold it. That Emerald guitar is quite impressive. I've had a couple Rainsong guitars and enjoyed them for a while but sold them both. I'm going to check out your other videos on the Bose. I'm running my Takamine through my Bose F1 in church and I play through a Fishman Loudbox Performer at home. Keep the video coming!

      @@im58woody Thanks. I'm getting ready to possibly replace the VE-8 with the new Elite Acoustics Stomp X6 which is a powerful digital mixer that runs on an internal lithium battery. That would give us more inputs and since we no longer use the harmony of the VE-8 or the looper we can use more inputs. Speaking of reviews I literally just posted another video review of adding a second Bose S1. Check it out, I think you'll find it very informational.

    No Mids?! Bose really took the "No highs, No lows, it must be a Bose" joke seriously. LOL. I got one for my wireless micro dj ceremony setup and this thing is a beast!!! It's loud and has creeping- punchy bass at the 3oclock setting. It fills a room so well, the guests don't even know where the sound is coming from. Worth every hard earned penny.

    Appreciate this demo... just what I was looking for.. great to hear it cut through the crowd at your gig.. Did you try it on the floor in that setting (with people/audiance) .. or used stand like in this video? thx again!

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      I have only used it in front of a crowd on a stand and sitting flat on a bar. At home I generally practice with it sitting on a desk angled up and it works great but I have yet to try it in front of a crowd in either that or the monitor position.

    Heck yeah I have the compact I've been thinking about this. How would you say it compares. I subbed by the way.

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      It holds its own but the Compact is definitely going to be superior especially on the low end. If you really need something even more portable and lightweight or you just really want/need the battery power then it's worth it but if neither of things are super important for you then I'd say the Compact is the better unit for percussion.

    Great video. Few questions. Do you still like the mixer or have you upgraded and also how so you like the TC Helicon. Are you going to stay with the Bose or upgrade. THANKS aGAIN EXCELLENT Vid

      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      Thanks, glad you liked the video. I'm no longer using anything in that video except the Bose, although I still own everything in it. In our continuing effort to simplify we now use a Boss VE-8 which serves as a mixer, pre-amp, EQ, harmony pedal and looper. So basically it does everything on that music stand (and more) in one pedal that also runs on batteries. I also bought the battery for the S1. so now everything fit into the guitar gig bag and we carry that and the S1. And we don't need external power. We can play anywhere. The TC Helicon G-XT is a great pedal. Works slick.

    I should have added with regard to my general guitar tone signal manipulation that the reason my raw guitar signal sounds so muddy and I have to add in so much high while dialing out the lows and mids because I'm a fingerstyle player that plays only with the meat of my fingertips. No nails and no pics - ever. So for those that do play with a pick and/or nails the tones would likely need much less processing. I'm betting a person that plays with a pick and has a pickup system in their guitar that is an active UST-type system with onboard volume and EQ would likely be able to get a really decent tone with only their guitar.

      Howdy from Alberta Scott. Great video that helps one to decide whether or not this system is what one wants. I'm ninety percent certain I'm going to purchase the Bose S1 Pro Multi-position PA System. That is the exact name of the system. I got that from the Owner's Manual. I just had the following thought... you and whoever see this... You might want to check out an acoustic guitar amp called the ToneWood Amp. The amp attaches to the back of your guitar and your guitar internal pickup plugs into the ToneWood Amp. A Most Excellent & Cutting Edge Technology type of device for sure.

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      I owned the ToneWood Amp a year or so ago. It was a neat device but for me the only usable effect was the reverb and it worked just okay. I found it ate batteries and I had trouble controlling the feedback when I got it high enough to give any decent amount of effect unamplified. In the end while cool it eventually just became more like a toy or gimmicky to me than any real and usable piece of gear. That said, the concept is cool and if they make improvements I might give one a try down the road.

    Scott,
    Thank you for the great video!
    How do you like your wireless transmitters? Do you run both guitars on the same frequency so you can use one receiver and two transmitters? Looking for something like this to use. I’ll message you on the AGF. Keep up the great videos!

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      Hi Brad. I like the Xvive U2 system a lot. I only have the one system so I don't use it with a second transmitter although I know you can buy them separately. But since you can only play one guitar at a time it's easy to just turn it off, unplug from the guitar, plug into the second guitar and turn back on. For me it's not worth buying a second transmitter. Also, I generally only bring one guitar to a gig anyway.

    • @bradrevland5451

      Excellent! Thank you for the input! I use my pedal board for both electric and acoustic for the same gig. Run an RC-3 as the last in my chain and bounce back and forth between amp and direct line to my board. Working on going to an A/B footswitch after RC-3 and either using a Rock Bug for electric or a radial box and the B line would be a direct line into my board for acoustic. Small pedal board amps and amp simulators have come a long way. Getting to old to drag a 80 lb. twin around! :) Your wireless system looked like a great way to eliminate chords and entanglements on stage. Battery life pretty good? Thank you for the help!

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  6 років тому

      Battery life is very good, relatively speaking. I've never run out on a gig, that's for sure. I generally get three days of practice at home before the receiver starts to blink. It seems the receiver runs out of juice before the transmitter. But if they are fully charged then you should be able to get through any gig easily.

    hi buddy, thank you for your video :) have you tried a bass guitar on ? like bedroom volume ? thank you !

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  5 років тому

      I have not tried bass through it as I don't play - or own - a bass guitar. It might be fine for bedroom volumes but with the relatively small speakers I doubt it would much good beyond that. But that makes for an awfully expensive bedroom practice amp!

    I’m not a fan of the K&K pickups. LR Baggs Anthem is the way to go for really great tone without all the extra gear you have to deal with on the K&K.

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  5 років тому

      It took a good amount of work to get the K&K's to sound where I wanted them especially with my latest custom Emerald guitar. I'm thinking of another custom order and I'm thinking of the full Anthem Pro which is the barn door system. A lot of people don't like that but I want something I can have full access to an active system plus EQ and notch at my fingertips right on the guitar for on-the-fly tone tweaking for open mics. But I'm on the fence as there seems to be just as many if not more people that don't like the Anthem as people that do.

    Great demo thx. I currently use the Bose L1 sys ll and was thinking of getting the S1, #1 to use as a monitor.Sometimes my gigs can be a little cramped and I need to put my Bose in front of me to avoid feedback. #2 Smaller gigs this appears to be perfect.#3 some gigs I run the output of my Bose L1 into the venues xlr jack to run thru their sound system. It would be alot mire convenient use the S1 as a monitor and plug into the venues system then lug in my L1..
    When you run the output of your mixer into the rear of the S1,what are you plugging into? The 3rd input?

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  5 років тому

      Your instincts are spot on. The S1 Pro is perfect for all those bullet point items you list. I have used mine in all three. I typically use only my S1 on a pole directly behind and between my wife (vocals) and I with no issues. I've also used it on the floor angled up behind/between us and on a bar or bar stool or chair off to the side or in front of us. As of late I'm using only on battery power even when there is power available. I have used it as a monitor with the output going to my QSC k8.2 powered speaker in front of us when we need more volume and I've also used it as a monitor in front of us with the output going to the house. This is great for open mics where there is little to no monitor for you and you can't hear yourself. Very quick to set up and with no power requirements I have yet to have anyone object to us using it this way. I am surprised to hear you say you need to sometimes put the L1 out in front of you. I thought the purpose and design of the L1 was in part to negate feedback.

      Unfortunately i have a couple places that I play that are very tight and I need to be right in front of it and have been experiencing some feedback. Both of these places have the xlr connection to plug into for me to play through their system. These would be great for the S1..I also use my Bose L1 with the TcHelicon Play Acoustic. Although I really like the Tc For the vocal effects I’m not very technical and I think it’s possible some of my feedback issues could be related to the level settings between the Bose and the Tc..My next gig is this Friday.I may just do the gig without the TC and see how the feedback issue goes.Thanks again..

      No one really knows for sure as Bose does not publish those numbers but then general consensus around the forums is it is approximately 40 watts.

    Why not just sing in Channel 1 and play guitar in Channel 2 and eliminate all the other items?

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  4 роки тому

      It's an acoustic duo so we need one guitar channel input and two mics.

    • @Methos19795001
      @Methos19795001  4 роки тому

      That said my setup has been greatly reduced from what is in this video. We now just use the two mics and one guitar into a single digital mixer and into the S1. Very small footprint.

    Bose purposely built some limitations into this PA System so that they can make a ton of extra money ! They made this unit so you can only use their extremely expensive batteries, which in return means that they have greatly inconvenienced you as a consumer! Bose could have easily built this amplifier so we could use external batteries such as lithium ion or a car battery or different power packs !
    I think we should never support companies that are constantly taking away our options and choices ! A company that cares about you and your options and not only about their greed and selfishness would have built-in the option for you to use Lithium-ion batteries or a car battery or a power pack.... xcetera !!!
    When are you consumers going to smarten up and stop putting up with anything and everything that these greedy companies are throwing at us !
    STOP BUYING PRODUCTS FROM COMPANIES THAT DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU ! Let them know that we are sick and tired of them taking our choices and options away from us, and we're no longer going to buy their products unless they start giving us what we want and what we need !!!!
