I have had a guitar for about 3 years, I was just not connecting with it and playing like a month every year and not really knowing what I am doing, then I decided it is that time again but this time I would follow along with the justin guitar lessons, and I feel so proud of myself especially with this lesson. I got 29 firstly and then 36 on my third try and I think I can with much confidence say that I will be playing guitar for a long while so thank you so much Justin :)
Got 35 the first time, now up to 49 - really pleased to have found this excellent resource; I cut my fingernails today so I'm pitting the quality improvement done to that! I'm 66 and now have the time to do this, maybe my 5th time of setting out on this learning journey (first time with JustinGuitar though!) ☺
I'm one of those "never quite learned properly," or "fell of the wagon," players, but admittedly my trying to learn songs on guitar in high school and then again for the past year or two 20-ish years later (here and there) has really been useful getting me through these beginner videos comfortably. 64 chord changes, first time ever trying to time that. Fingers froze up and got awkward a few times for sure, but then I did some fast ones to catch up lol. Kind of meant to get serious last year, but... starting yesterday, I think I'm actually doing it. Gonna see how far I can go... if I can actually call myself a guitarist by 2024. Setting an hour aside daily (prob Saturdays off), though I might have to shrink that to 30 minutes if my other goals are suffering. What I'm really hoping to gain from these lessons is... some knowledge of music theory... through guitar playing. I want to know how to write a song and why certain things work and other things don't. Scales... that kind of thing. I have a long way to go, so I really appreciate going through all the basics again to prepare me for the scary stuff... heh.
I’ve been practicing for a month but just got started with JustinGuitar today. This lesson was great. I did about 55 good chord changes using the classic 1-2-3 finger placement on the A. Then 29 on the way he said to play the A. I’ll keep practicing it to get the new way up to 60 changes per min. Looking forward the journey. I want to get good enough to justify getting a really nice American strat!
19 changes in 1 minute after 3 days of not so consistent practice still proud of it tho. Update it’s now day 4 and I got to 29 changes in a minute after 2 attempts.
My son is 7 (nearly 8) and he did 9 changes the first time we tried this exercise. Thanks to Justin for the idea. He has also invented new chords; L, M and H!

@uttam9090 61 on A to D, 52 on E to A, 42 on E to D, 35 on Am to E, 42 on Em to D, 34 on Am to Em. Learning a simplified version of i walk the line and the intro of should i stay or should i go and trying 2 simple strumming patterns on different beats per minute. And i "learned" the seven nation army and peter gunn riff (not sure if its 100% clean but i am getting there) Currently struggling on getting 30 changes on Dm to Am and the Dm chord in general. so yeah i would say i am pretty good its still frustrating but atleast i have some "stress relief" songs and i am having fun and seeing progress.

Thank you so much for making this course fun, and free!.
Thanks for all your free videos Justin. I feel like all you need to learn how to play guitar is his videos and your ambition. As long as you've got these, you will get better. Just started today and I'm doing this practice I can already see my progress.
34 in 1 minute and while not great was surprisingly clean for how fast i was trying to go
Wow, this was helpful actually! 20 changes in the first day and it's helpful to practice those and also have a target to beat...and the advice about not worrying overly much about perfection is nice too. 😊
Hi, Justin. I managed to 18 changes in 1st take, 25 in the second.
Best guitar teacher ever. Hello from Slovenia (my father posted my first lesson on Instagram a few days back).
That's my kid! ;) 💪 🎸
That's great Lovro! keep up the practice and if you keep progressing like that, you'll be jamming with your dad in no time! Can you share the link to the instagram with me? (mail it to lieven ***at*** justinguitar ---dot--- com) | LievenDV | JustinGuitar Official Assistant
Did three attempts earlier 😊
1st = 14 after a few minutes tried it again and got 16 then finally 20 😊😊
On day 1 I was on 20 changes per minute and till day 4 i reached 50 changes. It is a great exercise and truly the best one for beginners
Great lesson. Wich i had those 20 years ago! i would be a killer guitar player now
Hi Justin I have started this course a few days back. I got 13 chord changes at the beginning and improved to 17 or so by that day's practice. Now I'm stalled at 20.Still practicing. Thanks for this wonderful course
first day : 11 changes
3rd day : 25 changes
Haven't played since I was like 9 or something. Now 25y finally got back into it....surprised myself that I even got 26 chord changes even though if they were sloppy. Kinda proud that I still somehow got it even if it's just a little bit.
Started off with 17 changes per minute. Gonna try to get up to 30 within an hour.
Same
First timer here! This exercise really did help!! Changed 10 times the first minute and then 17 times the second minutes (without strumming). Anchoring the first finger was a task but eventually I was doing it without my mind knowing!
10 on my first try (I forgot I wasn’t supposed to strum more than once so I repeated the first few), 17 on the second
I got 24 on my first try!
Your courses are just amazing, they are the best courses available online.
17 chord changes in 1 minute.
2nd day of learning.
Ditto, got into a habit of strumming twice on each change...not sure why!!
@@BugPowderDust 18, first time.
then 23, then 30
Same! Second day too!
First attempt. Literally just got the guitar, tuned it, followed your course to this point and made a go for it. Managed 17 changes.
Second attempt after some noodling and messing around. 25 changes.
Third attempt. Second day. 38 changes.
Sooo much easier on the second day, despite fingers hurting A LOT. This really is a motivating and fun way to track progress. :)

@@justinguitar Thanks Justin! I'm following along the beginner course. It's really great so far. I like how you've structured it, with a clear path to follow, practice routines and gauging progress.
I see Justin now has an app for this exercise.
Love your attitude and demeanor in these videos. Helps to relax me and not press so hard.
This is a good tip for practicing! Thank you!
14 changes my first day with a guitar in my hands.
I tried learning like 15 years ago, but this channel wasn't around then. You're an amazing teacher and I feel like I'll be able to really get somewhere watching your video! Thank you!!!
Firts day of learning. I got 26 cord changes in a minute the second try I got 30. I have been playing the piano for 20 years and I just gor my first guitar
Moved from 18 changes in the first attempt to 42 attempts today. It took me 9 days.
Hang in there.
You are gonna make it!

1st time - 28 ; 2nd time - 25 ; third time - 31. Thank you for your lessons. 😊
This exercise used to annoy me so much when I first started learning from you, but now I am FAST, can do 140 clear chords in the minute XD I'm going back through videos to refresh myself and its amazing seeing how much I learned from your channel
thanks man
43 changes in the first minute timed! Fingers got a bit cramped from being a little tense so lost a couple seconds to readjusting! Love these lessons!
I’m able to change chords 38 times in a minute in my first try 🤘🏾🤘🏾 😍
Your lessons are absolute amazing, I'm looking forward to watching the rest of them! Just held a guitar for the first time today and now I know the D and A chord, I didn't think I'd get this far day 1 haha!
My first round of the 1 minute exercise was 9 chord changes, and tried it again after a few minutes and got 16! I'm so excited to continue!

I Got 64 the first time( Which is today)
10 chord changes in a minute. bought my guitar last night!
i tried to learn how to play back in 2006. lost interest know my young age but have been highly motivated to learn in recent years and finally decided to pick up another guitar and learn online with a little outside help. your online lessons have been so helpful my dude. My first run through on changes I got 23 changes in a fairly steady pattern. gonna keep at it and make it smoother, thanks for the help!
15 to 21 to 27 on my first day. I did a little practice between rounds and was able to get a lot faster pretty quick. They dont sound great, but i want to get to 30 so i can move on! I love this technique and your teaching style! i've tried learning many times in the past, and have long since quit by now..Thank you!
I got 16 changes for the first time in a minute. I've been practicing D for a week and getting kinda hold on it now. Thank to you.
This is the first lesson when it goes from feeling discourages to encouraged. Switching chords and then seeing it get easier makes it actually seem possible to learn.
I've just found out about this channel. I'm a beginner and those lessons are great! I especially appreciate all the comments, they are what makes your course stand out for me. The second I have a doubt in my head while playing and watching your video, you address said doubt, saying its normal, and everything will be fine. Honestly, I've been trying to pick up a guitar for years, and never could I stay consistent, but this is first time, when I've stayed with it for two weeks, without pressuring myself to be a rockstar at the end of first lesson, and it's thanks to your awesome approach. Just wanted you to know, that after three years your videos are still helping people all over the world learn how to play this beautiful instrument. Thank you so much!
Same here buddy. Picked up a guitar for the first time 4 weeks ago and im hooked. Just found this channel and its amazing. Gonna go over all the lessons he has to offer. We can do it!
First practice of chord changes and managed 17 in a minute. Feeling good now just to perfect the chords 😁
23! Been playing around for a few weeks just practicing off chord charts so I already had the chords down. Your method for A chord is much better! Just started your lessons today and greatly appreciate them.
He has also invented new chords; L, M and H!
picked up guitar for first time really aged 51 - had a little practice for 20 mins and did 38 first time, little more practice and 58 2nd try.... all inside of 1 hour. this is totally doable guys keep plugging away!
Justin, i cant seem to thank you enough! you have got me so interested in learning the guitar- you are amazing! i managed to get 19 notes in my first 60 seconds :)
I got to 22 changes the first time and im gonna keep practicing! This whole course is so great, i'm really glad i found it
I managed to do 31 chord changes in my first attempt. Wrote it down with the chords and the date. I'll keep doing other lessons but I plan on hitting that 60!
Leaving this as a reminder to future me.
6th day and 31 chord changes in a minute. (A chord to D chord.)
Just to reference for others. Got my guitar 4 days ago and was able to do 13 semi-decent changes as a complete beginner. Just keep going :)
I never knew how weak my fingers are haha! 27 changes and not stopping!
Honestly i feel really happy i found your videos. cant wait to see them all.
These course are great for this old man. Been doing the perfect chord practice for about a week. Finally hitting the sound pretty good, most of the time. This lesson I got 19 & it was fun. I'm after 60 for sure.
got my guitar 2 weeks ago and at my first attempt i did 23. thanks justin
Really appreciate your posting these videos, Justin. It's great to have goals during this lockdown. I've just tried for the first time and managed 18 changes. Not great but I'm delighted to be even able to do that. Thank you
Hey - that's actually great. Be proud of yourself and keep going. Good luck! Cheers.
After 2 months of practicing i finally got 31 changes per minute. not all are clear but i am still very proud i started at 11 in the beginning. Edit: 44 mostly clean chord changes i cant believe my work is paying off thank you Justin
how u doin now
@uttam9090 61 on A to D, 52 on E to A, 42 on E to D, 35 on Am to E, 42 on Em to D, 34 on Am to Em.
Learning a simplified version of i walk the line and the intro of should i stay or should i go and trying 2 simple strumming patterns on different beats per minute. And i "learned" the seven nation army and peter gunn riff (not sure if its 100% clean but i am getting there)
Currently struggling on getting 30 changes on Dm to Am and the Dm chord in general. so yeah i would say i am pretty good its still frustrating but atleast i have some "stress relief" songs and i am having fun and seeing progress.
started playing guitar 3 days ago, just started watching the beginner tutorials today and i got 22 chord changes.
Been playing the guitar for a few years now and surprisingly I never came across this video. Tried this exercise and reached the 60 chord changes mark within 35 secs. I feel pretty good about my progress now I guess. Thanks for this great video Justin.
