- Soulframe is an upcoming free-to-play MMO RPG developed by Digital Extremes. Set within a fantasy world, players will deploy onto the Northern Isle of Midrath to embark on a new adventure. @@YuYuMFDOOM Warframe's combat animations only work because of the speed and fluidity of it's encounters. This game clearly does not have the same approach to combat. It's much more slow and deliberate. Hell this game even has its own version on an Estus Flask and a dodge roll. It's clearly taking cues from Soulslikes. Fast and loose combat does not work with a slow and methodical combat approach. These attacks need weight and meaning behind them. They can't even get a proper backstab animation together.
@unpopular4696 you don't have to mention the Flask it's implied with the Souls part and slow or not we don't even have the game yet to see how upgrades and facilities work in game for all we know it looks slow here and they have something similar to a mod system we aren't aware let's chill wait and see for now.
@@YuYuMFDOOM Warframe came out in 2013, there is 10+ year of gaming that happened since then. They can polish the combat and make a better one. Also, the budget they had for Warframe in 2013 is clearly not the same as Soulframe in 2024. No excuses.
They gotta work on the speed of the combat and those animations. Not bad tho

Lay off the steroids and cocaine, not all combat needs to cater to impossible gamers that can react faster than a computer. The combat speed is fine, the animations need a lot of tuning.

@@fulgerion you are correct, it was claimed from the beginning, the Game is suppossed to feel slower and more heavy Düring Combat. But this right hear doesn't feel heavy, it feels stiff and they need to approach this

Not feeling it…something seems off. Atmosphere, audio and visuals are all on point. Combat just doesn’t hit for me. Still early days though
Atmosphere is samey and lacks variety, visuals aren’t artistically satisfying but maybe elden ring has spoiled me. Combat is horrible when there’s so many games to learn from now adays.

@@dawidpotega882 they started working on the game like 2 years ago, it's Digital Extreme so they put their stuff out there very early. You can already get invited now to test play it, but it's early builds like they did with warframe
People complain that things are not connecting in the combat, but that is the reason you have clarity of the combat. If combat was precise and close you would complain then how you can't see anything.

Trailers that have more walking/ standing in cool looking areas more than showing actual gameplay are always a red flag. Devs will always show off the gameplay when they've nailed it

Keep in mind this is most absolutely an alpha at this point. They are likely still working on most systems in the game. Wait until we have an actual release date to complain. (And even then, most games come together in the last few weeks if not days, it's a wild experience 😅)

The game is in its early stage of development, the animations will change and get better Jsut like they did with warframe but faster since they’ve done it before all ready, your going to eat your own words once it releases, trust me the community and the dev work together not apart

It's not 1 for 1 the same universe no. But it's DE, so some concepts are gonna be weirdly similar.
Think of Halo and Destiny 2 basically

To think people are comparing this game to Dark Souls just because of the word "Souls". This is made by the same developers of Warframe, which is why the movements and animations feels unrefined.
warframe has great movements and aniamtions though lol.
Took me a second to figure out why the animations look bad. It's because none of them lead into the next. They have to play out in their entirety, which lasts a half second too long, then they have to start a new animation, rather than chaining them together.
When a "gameplay" trailer is mostly showing areas and walking im getting nerveus.

Been playing warframe for years, this combat looks so bad. It needs more flare, adjusted speed, and visual weight like souls games.

@@Raghallach-Bell Are we watching the same video? Because this is 100% a souls-like. They have an estus flask, high risk/high reward combat, rolling; its has all of the comparisons readily available in this trailer to compare it to a souls game.

Also the developers have already stated it is not a soulslike.
People keep forgetting its in beta, last 2 yrs since the announcement and some alpha tester envoys tried it out. Its not like Darksouls, its their own spin. Give the devs some feedback if you do try it out, last thing we need are more complainers who doesnt understand at all

@@niblothecactus1735 if you don't have "mana" for skills and mobs surround you, you are dead, if you have mana you just go near and use aoe or lightnings, but most time can stay alive with dodge, and because after you die you can just go back to your body it was boring fast

Now for those who complain about the game in general please remember this is thr first game by the warframe guys that isn't warframe they are trying something new and it should be taken with that grain of salt that it is not in there main wheel house of the style of game they have worked on for years

f2p but this is from the devs of Warframe. Warframe is known for having some of the best monetization of any f2p game on the market, wherein every single thing is accessible for free, and you can trade the premium currency with other players. Not sure how monetization will work in this game, but I'd imagine the monetization model will carry over.
Its a tennocon trailer, made for fans of one of the most successful and supported f2p games of all time, of course it's free to play

Remove these random blinding lightings that feels like flashbangs. Improve combat because the animation for combat is terrible and cheap. Option to remove screen shake it is just disruptive. If these happen and the game will have amazing combat then maybe it has a chance to be successful.

This looks like the most headache inducing game you could ever play. Get rid of these 27 lens flares for every attack and ridiculous particle effects or nobody is going to be able to play this for more than a few hours at a time.
