Im sorry that i need to say this but you should never release the bar fully this wil make the kite steer bad especially on c-kites. And also you should always do the downloop behind 12 so u won’t gain speed butt just have a smooth lift also never steer 100% this wil make the kite turn to fast and it wont give a nice stable lift it will just yank hard. If you do a downloop like this in very strong wind you’re only gonna crash or just land with a shit load of speed
Nice video Willem nicely explained! My q is about the bar. You mention that the bar gradually goes almost on top (no pressure-after reaching the highest point of your jump. Then steering left(front head) we execute the loop. Today i was watching a fresh video of Sam Light abt downloops and he keeps the bar fully sited- full pressure- while pulling the bar to initiate the loop. Could you comment please. I guess both methods work as i can see but..
@@willembeltman W. thanks for your time At the moment i am comfortable with downloop jibes and its time to move forward. For normal jumps do you sheet out the bar gradually before landings?? Sam and Lewis Cathern and other kiters suggest to keep the bar fully sheeted in throughout the whole jump. Doing that often my kite stays behind me probably coz i often sheet in the barafter the kite past 12. Can you comment plz??
@@fysalides1 I’m no PRO, but my jumps are right now about 12-13 meters and after lots of crashes in landings, and must say I’m nowadays landing them property always releasing the bar when I pass the pick point of the jumps, so I sit the kite in a better position to start the final steering (which goes also with a sheet in to increase the help and get softer landings)
