After trying to learn how to edit audio on garageband on and off for over a year now, this has truly been the most informative and truly helpful tutorial. Thank you!!!
This is by far the best tutorial i have seen. I am just starting my podcast, and there are so many costs connected to recording, editing, hosting, so it is really nice to see that i can just use GB on my Mac.
So glad to know you find this video helpful. Thanks for checking in! In case you have other podcasting questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. 😊 Happy podcasting!
Thank you more than you will ever know! I could follow your video, in fact, I could pause and set up my template as you went along. This is the bestest of the best I've found online. I raise my cuppa in your honor!!
I followed your instructions and completed my 1st rough-draft podcast! Thank you, thank you! A lot of fun! (I was able to add sound and music with Epidemic)
I've been wanting to start a podcast for ever. But most videos over complicate things leaving me even more confused. This video helped so much. I would love a video that gets more into the weeds of uploading music for the podcast.
I have been doing my podcast for about two months and I’m 6 episodes in and the one thing that’s been a struggle for me is balancing my music and my voice!!! Thanks for an explanation on this! The It’s Just...Tait podcast appreciates it.
Finally a good video!! I've watched some videos about using GarageBand and always ended up frustrated. With this video I learned more than I was looking for (which is GREAT) and also made me interested in other videos. For sure I'll be able to save lots of time and have better podcasts. Thanks BuzzSprout!!!
Hi Travis - thank you so much my friend. The "Delete and Move" was exactly what I was looking for. And I set up the shortcut keys too to make it easier. I use FCPX for my video editing and I almost think you can't edit efficiently unless you use keyboard short cuts. Again - short, succinct, and simple video showing the basics of GB. All the very best, Cheers Rick
This video helped me so much! It is super clear and very easy to follow even if you are a complete beginner like me! :) It was my very first time cutting a podcast and I couldn't have done it without this tutorial! Thank you so much!
Thank you for the kind words, Belinda! Let us know if you have any questions and maybe we could make another video that gets a bit more into the weeds.
Thank you for this. Learning to work this always goes best when shown by someone who knows their stuff and doesn't complicate things. I can start recording! Great adventures ...
This was amazing thank you so much! I was so scared of garage band that I've been recording in the voice notes app on my phone! Now that I know how to use it I'm actually having a lot of fun with it!
Thank you so much for providing this walk-through tutorial!! It was really really helpful as I've just started my own podcast! Looking forward to watching the upcoming tutorials :)
guys wht an awesome job in this video... and the channel. Just starting my podcast, still figuring out how does tht works, and the channel has being my north guide. Keep it up!
Very helpful. Thank you. My questions are how did you add the music and may be add how you structure the podcast episode step by step. Greatly appreciated.
Your video tutorials are the best! So far I’ve watched Hindenburg and garage band. About to see if there’s one on Audacity. It’s overwhelming because I’m not techy at all! My question is, I’m GarageBand, how do you record someone remote? Do they just use their computer microphone? This is mostly what I’m going to be doing in my podcast
So glad you’re finding the video tutorials helpful, Amanda! Recording remote interviews in GarageBand can be tricky as it lacks a built-in feature. But, you can use apps like Zoom, Squadcast, or Riverside to record the interview & import the audio file into GarageBand for editing. As for the microphone, your guest can indeed use their computer microphone. However, for better audio quality, it might be worth investing in an external microphone. I hope that helps! 😊
That's awesome, thankyou. Perfect pacing covering everything I need for now (except importing which I'll look up next) while avoiding the information overload that can occur when people know a subject really well. Thanks. I'll be subscribing and using your videos as I learn Garage Band.
This is great! I do have a question- if I am interviewing someone over Zoom, and a get separate tracks to capture the audio from the speaker, how would I upload that track into GarageBand? Thanks!
This is really helpful! Thank you. One frustration I am facing with GB, that I don't face with iMovie because it is more apparent and simpler, is how to quickly edit the sound quality of the interview tracks (like quickly reducing background noise without having to play around with settings). Is there a simple fast way to do this?
I loved this video. Extremely helpful and easy to follow. Could you include a section on how to do a crossfade? Or is that the same thing as using the automation tool?
I couldn't quite get the yellow dots on the volume line to go where I wanted them. I just couldn't seem to figure out how to make several dots. Not quite sure how to explain it but if you could go through that again step by step a little slower to help me figure out how you actually were able to do that with the yellow volume line I would be so grateful. Thank you for this great video. I too have looked through so many videos and yours is the only one I found so far that I was able to follow for the most part understand what you were doing. Thank you so much
Thank you!! This helped a lot!! Because I have a upcoming Podcast talk show kind of like and This is the best Video for this!! Thanks! have a great day!
I thank you so much for the tutorial I was going to ask you you mentioned how to record if you’re recording by yourself and also if you’re recording other folks in life but what happens if you’re interviewing folks via zoom or Skype how would I implement garage band then for the best quality etc. thank you
Tip: Do a test recording for like a few seconds and listen to it back with earplugs, sometimes GarageBand selects one microphone as the left sound and one as the right sound. You will hear this instantly when you listen to it back; one track is only hearable in the left earplug, the other track in the right
OK, this is the most helpful video I’ve seen, and believe me, I’ve looked through a bunch!
Thanks, Buzzsprout
That means a lot! We're glad it helped you out

I have watched many videos on this subject. This is by far the easiest and clearest to follow, wish the cursors were a bit bigger, but great job!
This is by far the best tutorial i have seen. I am just starting my podcast, and there are so many costs connected to recording, editing, hosting, so it is really nice to see that i can just use GB on my Mac.

Your video tutorials are the best! So far I’ve watched Hindenburg and garage band. About to see if there’s one on Audacity. It’s overwhelming because I’m not techy at all! This is so helpful! Did you save your two person interview track as one track then import it as a single track when editing all together? Thanks.
Awesome video!!!! Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Omg thank-you so much for this video.
After updating my MACbook OS ... Audacity stopped working.

Really helpful - thank you. : 😊
Really good tutorial, easy and straight to the point, just what I needed it!
This is great! I do have a question- if I am interviewing someone over Zoom, and a get separate tracks to capture the audio from the speaker, how would I upload that track into GarageBand? Thanks!
I was wondering this too.
You just drag and drop the audio track into garage band track list.
The best way to crossfade in GarageBand is with the automation tool
This was super helpful!
Thank you so much
To create a yellow dot, your mouse cursor needs to be directly on top of the yellow line.
Then use a left click to create the dot.
Awesome...thank you!
Thanks! This was the only video I could find that actually answered my questions.
This video was amazing and very helpful. I appreciate this.

Super helpful! Got one question. I want to slow the pace of the audio down so I can make the right cut, how do I do this?
Thanks
