😮 I just tried this on a new cardigan I got that had rather baggy sleves...Im now feeling very accomplished as it worked a charm. While my lines weren't exactly even its not very noticeable once the cardigan is on. Thanks so much for the simple instructions 😁
You made this seam (pun intended!) so easy! Question: Could I taper from the other side, because I was thinking I might like to make a thumb hole on the inside seam where you had tapered it? Thanks!
Thank you for your video😭😭😭i bought a big sweatshirt because i gains weight during the pandemic, but its too big...i will use it for my clothes....thank you sensei👍👍
Yes and Yes! Just make sure you don't try to make the armholes *where the sleeves meets the shoulder* any smaller. Leave that the same size. Very hard to change a round part like that!
it is all good because cotton is a knit fabric, meaning it will not fray when cut. unlike something that is woven, which will come undone. you're good to go
yes, although you might need a good sharp needle to sew it with. try testing your needle to make sure it slides through easily on an inside seam or something. you can buy sharper needles at pharmacies! look for vinyl or leather needles. good luck!
Lol, this is why I'm here too. I'm about to try it soon and I'll report back. I have some vintage 70s and 80s Nike Windbreakers and the elastic is finished. It looks like a walking monster it's so wide, I'm hoping this tighents them.
Well guess what, it worked on a 100% 80s Nylon Nike Windbreaker. I think it came out better than the sleeve in the video, jkjk. Seriously it looks like it was from the factory. I don't know how I did so perfect first try. Thank you Cinderella Sew! You just earned a new subscriber!
Awesome as always, I always get sew excited to see that u have uploaded a vid....Lol! Did ya like what I did there? May Abba Father continue to Guide, Bless, Protect and Prosper u and the fam and ur channel ABUNDANTLY everyday always in Jesus Christ Almighty's name I pray, Amen=)
Thank you for posting this!! I wasn’t sure how to tighten a cuff and all of the other videos I’ve seen weren’t quite what I was looking for. 👍😀
yay that's so exciting! i had no idea if this was going to be needed! i am really happy hearing that!
Right?! The hot water way is wack

If only you showed what it looked like on! Still, great video, thanks for the info!
For that intro, you got a sub
Thank you!! . Just finished this on a jumper fantastic results. 😊👍👍
Fantastic!
Finally a video which isn’t that complicated.
Only question is would this work on fleece or and sports material hoodie?
absolutely! any sweater will do! good luck :)
hi ! love how your videos are so easy to understand. could you please tell me how can i raise armholes to get a better fit ?
armholes are so hard because they are circles.. unfortunately it is beyond my skill set. i don't even try because it is hard. good luck though!!
You made this seam (pun intended!) so easy! Question: Could I taper from the other side, because I was thinking I might like to make a thumb hole on the inside seam where you had tapered it? Thanks!
Yes great idea! Just do some back stitches on either side of the thumb hole so it doesn’t come out! I love that look. And I love your pun
Thank you so much for this! I was trying to think of a way to do this without cutting the fabric in case I wanted the original cuff again.
yeah sometimes its tough to cut, but if you will wear it more, its worth it!
Just what I needed! Thank you so much!!
Love the hand signals at the end and the Peeeeeaaace ✌️
hehe peace!!!
Awesome ! Is this also possible when you have a cotton cuff on a leather jacket?
yes!!
Thank you for your video😭😭😭i bought a big sweatshirt because i gains weight during the pandemic, but its too big...i will use it for my clothes....thank you sensei👍👍
yo yo! thanks for uploading this video! it was helpful
And yo-yo yo, thank you for the comment
I'm a man. I used your video with great results. Thankyou very much.
Fantastic! love to hear that

So simple and helpful!! Thank you!
:)
I love your nail polish, what color is that?
I love this channel so much! Thank you so much!!
aw, thank YOU so much that makes me feel really great :) i appreciate it
This is what I am looking for. Thank you :)
awesome :) sew glad it helped
Can i do this on the entire sleeve? Like up to the top? Also can i cut the excess ?
Yes and Yes! Just make sure you don't try to make the armholes *where the sleeves meets the shoulder* any smaller. Leave that the same size. Very hard to change a round part like that!
would it be okay to cut off the excess material? nothing would come undone?
it is all good because cotton is a knit fabric, meaning it will not fray when cut. unlike something that is woven, which will come undone. you're good to go
Could this work for leggings and joggers?
aboslutely! and i have a video for that: ua-cam.com/video/uzmvf0LSklI/v-deo.html
Will this also work on windbreakers? Mines too loose lol
yes but you might need a special sharp needle to sew through that kind of material :)
great tutorial!
Thank you! Cheers!
Just curious, wouldn't this theoretically work on on shirts that are too wide?
yes, exactly! they will taper in to be the same width at the armholes, but slimmer toward the bottom. hope it goes well!!
Did you use 2 threads or is it a single one, but segmented?
one thread folded in half!
fantastic video, thank you very much
thank you too :)
But that seems like it would not last? To sort this would I just repeat it
it will last! but yes, the more stitches you want to do, the stronger it is :)
would this work on hoodies?
Absolutely!
So at the end do you cut off the other side of not used shirt?
Can you rephrase that question? I’m not sure I understand but I want to help!
omg my dude you seem so chill, we should hang out
lol love your vids, just subscribed! 😊😊
haha thanks! made my day!
Thanks!
you got it!
Will it work on coat arms??
absolutely!
I love your intro lmao
By the way thank you this helped alot
haha thank you! and awesome :)
does this work for a T-shirt
yes absolutely!
Does this work on a windbreaker?
yes, although you might need a good sharp needle to sew it with. try testing your needle to make sure it slides through easily on an inside seam or something. you can buy sharper needles at pharmacies! look for vinyl or leather needles. good luck!
I need this cause I have to get bigger shirts cause my shoulders and then my sleeves are always bigger than I like
Would this work with jogger cuffs?
great question, and yes! here is a video on how to taper joggers: ua-cam.com/video/uzmvf0LSklI/v-deo.html
again a good video😊. BY the way, remember me?? how did you getting on??? how's everything??
thank you and yes i do! how are you? I am doing very well glad you are still watching and keep in touch :)
@Cinderella Sew I'm good too 😊.
Well I like your videos. Your method is so good!
Would you please show that for an elastic cuff on a winter coat? Please?
it is tough to make elastic tighter. but i will try!
Will this eventually get undone?
no, these stitches will hold really well. especially with the knots and back stitches you do, this is very secure. enjoy!
what you dont mention is the excess fabric on the inside which can be very uncomfortable. great vid tho keep it a hunnit cindarella
cut that fabric off!
Would this work with elastic windbreaker cuffs?
you would have to cut the elastic part of the sleeve off ;?
@@cinderellasewwhat if the elastic is sewn into the cuff?
Lol, this is why I'm here too. I'm about to try it soon and I'll report back. I have some vintage 70s and 80s Nike Windbreakers and the elastic is finished. It looks like a walking monster it's so wide, I'm hoping this tighents them.

@@Xtremecarfan10188 i think im gonna try it !!
I love these videos! But where did you learn to do all this?
just experimenting with scissors and thread! glad you like them!!
