I've never made a coconut oil soap only as I always thought they would be super drying until Patrick gifted me one with an order I placed with him and the bar was amazing to shower with and not drying at all.
Gorgeous ocean colors!🌊 I got my order this weekend and I love them all!!! My hubby’s B’day is soon and he loves good fruity soaps so I’ll wrap a couple up for him. He’s gonna love them!❤️Thank you so much!🌺
The video saved my day today 😁. It was so exhausting today and hot on top of that - only from watching it I feel cooled and relaxed 😁. Thanks for this 😍
@@EllenRuthSoap It is summer and that is nice, but I am a winter person 😁. Also, we would have to cancel our holiday in Greece because of Corona - that's why I don't like 😔 so much this summer.
Hi Ellen, thanks for another great video, I love to watch you soap you do an amazing job. I have a few batches done but not as good as you yet! I hope you and your family are safe, big hello from New Zealand
Good afternoon, I’ve never made a all coconut soap. For me this should be interesting. I have to give it a try. I think I can, I think I can. You won’t believe what I did today. I’m now trying candle wax. Yep, did everything right until I filled my container to overflow.. Yes on the kitchen table, dripping all down the sides of the little can. Sitting in a pool of wax. So I must get this can out of this. I picked it up of course it spilled. So I put them on a piece of cardboard and yes how Do I clean these up? No really how? After all this the candles are not full. Even the ones I didn’t spill. Back to the drawing board. Be safe and have an awesome day
Oh bless your heart! What a bummer... I've made some colossal messes in my studio before🤣 I'm sorry you had such a challenging day. For spilled candle wax, I've found that letting it cool (even putting ice on it) then it chips off easily...
Ellen made a batch of Coconut oil soap and I think my temperature was a too hot, what is a good temperature to make coconut soap at. Still turned out amazing. Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us all.
Yes, coconut soap can get super hot... I usually soap it at about 80 degrees, and I don't insulate the mold after. If you still have heating issues, you can always put it in the fridge right after you mold it.
@@EllenRuthSoap Thank you for the information Ellen I really do appreciate all the help. I will be sure to make notes as to the temperature for the future batches I plan on making.
They're very reminiscent of the beach, which I won't be seeing this year (thanks COVID-19!) and you can't go wrong with 100% coconut oil. It's the only recipe I use when I make soap for myself and family.
Hi Ellen . May I ask what chelator agent you used in your soap to prevent soap scum in hard water. Please help me with this thank you. You are always kind and generous in sharing your recipes.
Beautiful soap and color. Thank you for another great video. You mentioned your age in another video and I was wondering what your secret is to be so wrinkle free? I am your age and have many wrinkles.
I’m not a CP Soaper but i enjoy watching CP Soap Videos & to me it looked like it Riced & Thickened Up Fast, so be handy to note that down for next time you use that fragrance - I’m a MP Artist + Other Natural Products. Thank you for sharing, it turned out beautiful.
Madame i love all your soap made. Classy and i know the smell is good willing to pay. I made my pure coconut all but always im having a Volcado and its brittle. Do u mind any suggestion Madame. Thanks
Thank you! Yes, the coconut oil soap can get very hot. I recommend soaping at cooler temperatures, and you can even put it in the refrigerator after molding to keep it from overheating, if it continues to be an issue...
Hi Ellen Didi you not place them in the fridge or freezer for a while? Just asking cos my 100% coconut oil soap made in a loaf mould, cracks as it heats up so I place it for an hour in the freezer after pouring and then it's good to go.
Ellen, it is always relaxing and inspirational watching your videos. 100% coconut oils soaps tend to harden fast. I was told we have to cut within 4 hours of molding. Is that true?
Thanks! It does harden up faster than a typical soap would, but not as much as salt soap... That being said, I usually unmold my coconut soaps after 12-24 hours and it's fine...
Hey Ellen..when i run the 100% coconut oil through soapcalc i get really weird numbers? So what is your skins experoence with this kind of recipe? Thanks!🤗🌻🌹
Hi! Love your soaps....! Esp the colour..😁 I wanted to know when is the best time to stamp soap after de-moulding and cutting...can it be stamped after few days or immediately is best?
Thanks! I usually stamp within a few hours of unmolding, up to a day later. For me, that's the best time... It really depends on how hard your bars are, right out of the mold...
Hello Ellen, beautiful as always 😍. Thank you for another great video. I've read that 100% coconut oil needs to cure on a well-ventilated shelf for 6 to 12 months? Is this true? Also, can 100% olive oil (20% super fat) be used instead of coconut oil in this recipe?
Hi, the soaps that u do add colloidal oats too, are they “bumpy?” I ask because I’ve been adding oats for about a month and my bars have tiny oat bits that are great for an exfoliating bar, but I’m not always wanting that...lol I was wondering also if it’s maybe the quality of colloidal oats that I’m getting? Should bars with oats be smooth or is it completely normal to have the bits? Thank you for the great video. I just got that scent in my Gold mystery box from bescented. Love it!
Thanks! It's a great scent! I do think it might be your oats, I've had colloidal oats that are so finely ground they actually melt into the oils, that's the way I like them. If you think you have a rough batch, try running it thru a coffee grinder and see if you can powder it up a bit better....
Ellen, Your videos are amazing! You make it look so easy! Would love to know how you learned soapmaking. Do you follow someone in particular? Thank you for any help you can give. Mary Beth

Another beautiful soap! I’ve just run the recipe through soapcalc and the soap is only 10% conditioning, is that normal for this recipe or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks! I think because it's only coconut oil, it throws soap calc off?? the research I've done, and my experience is that with a 20% super fat, it's actually quite moisturizing.. You're not doing anything wrong, at the end of the day, coconut oil in soap is a cleansing oil....

Could you tell me which mold you are using for this from workshop heritage, it's an amazing size and I love the tall skinny bars when cut since I have no tall skinny mold yet. Thanks.
Wow, that thickened up way quicker that I would have expected for coconut oil soap. Very pretty though! Love it!

Hi Ellen, git any tips for holding the fragrance in cp soap? I used the kaolin clay but I still think it's not really helpful.

could you dissolve salt instead of sugar in the aloe to make it more like a brine soap?
Yes, brine soap is wonderful
