My whole soap making business is based off of goat milk! I raise American Alpine goats and use their milk in my soaps. I love the properties it gives my bars but I also love how the sugar benefits the lather! So many reasons to use goat milk soap!
Love your soothing, calming voice while you’re teaching us your exceptional skills. I am attempting to make this batch today with Oat Milk trying to incorporate Castor oil in it. Thank you for sharing such a lovely recipe. Any tips would be appreciated!
I love milk soaps. I just started using buttermilk and I have had great results Thanks for your awesome videos They’re so easy to watch 😊 I love spending time with you and I’m learning a lot ❤
Helloooo ! Love your intro Sarah and I adoreyour simple soap making process. I made this recipe last weekend side by side with my 12 yr old granddaughter who adores the art. I did add castor oil by reducing the amount of palm oil to 50g. I also made my own Oat Milk by soaking the rolled oat overnight (I am considering soaking for 2 hrs moving forward then blend the pulp with additional water) I then ran it through soap calc. The batch came out very soft but is hardening over time. However, I would love to see you soap with Lard in the future. Thank you for sharing !
Another awesome video that I want to make. I really like milk soaps especially goats milk. I've used the making ice cubes with with milk, but I will try this method. Sometimes the soap gets too hot or doesn't jell and has a darker color in the middle after I cut the soap. I found to soap at a lower temperature like around 90 degrees and just put a top on the mold. I will definitely try this recipe, thanks for the great video.
I made an oat milk and honey soap as one of my first attempts not knowing how badly wrong it could have gone but I LOVE it. I've still got loads to use but it is a firm favourite of mine personally.
Great video Sarah!! Nice soap! I love milk soaps for their creaminess! The milk in oil technique is so much easier than freezing milk. I like to add a little bit of white kaolin clay for a lovely silky feel. Thank you! Love your videos & your tiny little blue mold!
Yes, I love milk soap! I actually made one for my little boys out of my own breastmilk. I've used it on myself too, and it's wonderful. Edit: I added the milk to my soap after it reached trace, which worked very well I think.
Good morning Sarah. Excellent video!! One question: Do you think this would be a good recipe for an infant/baby? My granddaughter is almost 3 months old and my daughter is having a hard time finding baby soap. By the time I would get this done and ready, she'll be 5 months old, but I wanted to know (for future customers or new babies in our family) if you think this can be used for infants/babies? Thank you so much and keep up the GREAT videos!
Honestly, I don't think babies need soap but i understand that many people like to use them :) If you do use one keep it very simple and unfragranced. You can clean babies and keep them moisturised with a natural baby oil too
I always put my goats milk soap in the freezer so it doesn’t gel. I didn’t know you could insulate them, and they turned out so beautifully. I might try this and see if I like it better.
@@SoapSchoolUK I was wondering why you insulated through gel. Since it's not about color, is it for the hardness of the bars? I too usually cool my milk soaps to avoid the cracking.
I could listen to your soothing voice all day ♥️ love this! Newbie here and I want to try my first go at goats milk so this was an inspirational video! TY can you let me know where did u get ur soap cutter I see more wood than metal
Lovely video. I feel a little more confident trying this out. Where can I purchase the same scales you have? I only have a tiny kitchen scale that isn't appreciate for soap making 😬
Sadly you can't make natural soap without a strong alkali. The fats and oils are transformed into soap and no lye remains in the final product. If you do not wish to use lye, you could use a melt and pour soap base instead
I always refrigerate my milk soap or even freeze it so it doesn’t overheat during saponification, especially if I’ve used honey. But I’m not a fan of gel phase in any of my soaps, just personal choice
Thank you so much for this. Forgot to put my milk in the freezer. Im a beginner with milk. Recipe calls for 12.16 water. Im going to use 8.06 oz of water and only 4.06 oz of milk to start. Hope i do it right! Lye is 4.41 ounces. So that should be good
I always do it from frozen because u want what moisture that evaporates out to leave all the goat's milk goodness in the bar. I only put one color in a bar, if any at all, usually just a nice lavender purple and lavender essential oil. I'll try this method when I want to 'play' and see how it compares to full milk.
If I use coconut milk, will adding coconut oil make the soap super cleansing? If I want to make a moist soap, how much coconut milk is equal to its oil? Soapcalc doesn't have water replacement calculation.
why do this silly texturing after pouring into the mould? draw a flat object from one end to the other and it looks much more aesthetically pleasing- it isnt bread
I personally prefer the feel of a slightly textured top (plus it's fun to do!). Everyone has their own preferences, but I actually find it more aesthetically pleasing this way (as do many others). That's the beauty of handmade soap, you can make it how you prefer.
What was the white lumpy stuff you placed in that stainless steel container? Useless video, thumbs down. If you are using sodium hydroxide in your procedure, leaving out information makes your video dangerous. Either go step by step with complete information or go home.
I am unsure which section you are referring to. I am explaining each dsection and added captions to further assist. The full recipe is included in the description too. The lye mixing is explained step by step as we show how to mix the lye with ice as part of the liquid. Is this the white lumps you refer to? If further on, it could be the coconut oil?
I'm glad i watched this video 😊now i know what to do if my soap had crack in the future 😅
Isn't it such an easy way :)
Yes ma'am hehe ...I'm one of you're viewers here in Philippines 😊

I almost always make coconut milk soap, I really like the feel of it, especially since my skin is so sensitive and dry.
Hi Elisabet, I love making coconut milk soaps too. They have a lovely feel and tend to stay nice and pale

Hi dear Sarah, I hope you and your family are well. You did a lovely job on this soap and gave some great tips. Take care.

Love your videos and yes, I use milks but use the powders so far. I have used the coconut cream but didn’t know any difference. Love milk soaps.
Hey JoAnn, Milk powder work GREAT, Love them!
How do you use the milk powder if I may ask? Do you add it at emulsion, will it desolve then, or do you first mixed it with water?

Great video! I'm going to try it. One question, what size is the mold you use for that recipe? thanks for sharing ❤️❤️
Hi Melisa, I use a 500g mould which I find great for testing recipes and small batches for home use. It makes 5 to 6 bars

beautifull soap, may I ask what kind of olive oil that you used in this recipe? is that pomace?
I use regular olive oil or sometimes light in colour. Pomace works well if you are not doing swirls etc.

what should i use to replace palm oil ?

4 to 6 weeks usually
