This enigmatic, dandyish, chain-smoking, reserved little man, what beauty he gave us! The Quartetto Italiano certainly made a reference recording of this masterpiece in 1965, it has always been my favourite version, I am surprised that this video has so little views.
Quartetto Italiano.. A great quartet performing a masterpiece! This quartet had very unique concept about the music they played...Their rendering of Ravel string quartet is so breathtaking.. They really captured the essence of this music ( among many beautiful moments, I think the ens of first movement is absolutely sublime...). Thank you so much for uploading this beautiful recording.
