  • Soo this video is a bit long, I was trying to balance the requests of "your video is too long" and "your video speeds past the details".
    So this video is a depiction of what I did to achieve a result, not saying it is the best or preferred way of doing it. Also my chest holder for the camera is still not perfect - sorry for that - I have ordered more brackets to hopefully make the camera sit at a better angle so I can get better images for you in upcoming videos.
    One of the questions that most will ask who fit these is, do I replace the S wing with a R50 or do I just leave it? I asked this question on the Pinewood video as there were examples of both at the meet. I will leave it up to you as to what you think, but for me, I am ok with the gap...but I do have a white R50 spoiler/wing, just in case!!
    The G-Wing Lite can be purchased from orranje.co.uk (I am not affiliated or being paid for this link)

    Nice, I was gonna take it off to clean around the small opening areas... not gonna now. New wing is cool

      Thanks for watching, yep pain in the proverbial to remove! You might have to find a small brush of sorts to get in the areas that need cleaning

    Looks really good that. I think I prefer the Lite version. 👍🏼

      Thank you Paul. It certainly looks the part. I think the other version has slightly better integration between the upright and the wing blade itself, but the aluminium sides look absolutely fine to me!!
      Thank you for watching

    For anyone watching the video the instructions is to build it fully off the car and then you slide it on built - makes it much easier than trying to assemble on the car ;) and when fitted the guide suggest the metal fitting sides get hand bent up to be in line with the wing

      So much for me reading the instructions! Just noted a post on FB saying the ends should be bent up! Oops!

    Good update.I did about a year ago, only one is not very sure because of the police issue and to pass the technical inspection to the Mini one must take out with that it does not happen.

      Ah yes the challenge that the rule makers apply, some make sense and others...
      Maybe just say you own a GP, they have them from factory! Or you had a factory upgrade to the GP wing?

    What exact kind of string dod you use to remove that spoiler and where can I get it at?

      I used fishing line, cannot remember the breaking strain, but the first lot was a bit lite weight!

    I wish you would have done the F56… 😅 I’m looking for a way to get just the wing of for wrapping the car

      @hyphensclassics  11 місяців тому

      Have not really looked at the f56, r56, yes. The f56 wing is quite a bit bigger I believe, so bound to have bolts holding it, can you see any obvious bolt holes?

    Don't the rear wiper cables run through the window frame you drilled through?

    • @hyphensclassics
      @hyphensclassics  2 роки тому

      Hi Mike, I assume they are in there somewhere, but I did not see them. They could be in behind the plastic covering, I will have to double check that. However, as above I did not see anything when I drilled the holes.

    Would have been a lot more informative if you had someone hold the camera for you. Too much time just seeing you hands and not what was actually being done.

      Agreed Paul, not my best work for sure! I am investing in more equipment to try and make sure viewers can see more of what I am doing in future videos.
      Appreciate the feedback

      @@hyphensclassics Did get a lot of of it though. Thinking about replacing the stock wing on my 2006 R53.

      @@paullee2177 one thing I have found is that this wing is a tight fit in between the body and rear door. As you drive down the road and the chassis flexes you get noises from the rubbing. Something I need to look into. May have to run away a bit of the plastic fittings on the car to give more room
