I did this to my R56 MINI, no need to mask the chrome surround, just lift the bonnet.👍
Excellent. This is the best video I've seen on headlight restoration.
I think it would have been great to compare the end result with the Headlight that has not been resurfaced.
Awesome video, will be giving it ago on my partners mini. 👍
Nice process!
Now that's how it's done!
Glad you like it!
Super job thanks for taking the time to do this I will do mine
great process, could this same process be made on the tail lights ? I will be ordering my kit to start it, thank for sharing your video
Sorry for the delay in responding. The process can be the same for tail lights, but they are a different type of plastic. You may not be able to resurface for clarity, but you should be able to resurface for shine.
great video.. save the taping and open the hood.. the ring is attached to that.
Nice presentation! Did you jump from 1000 to 2500? or are there steps on between? such as 1500, 2000...
Thanks! Sorry for the late reply. There's no need to do such small incremental steps on lenses. 1000 then 2500 (then the 3500) followed by two stages of polishing is fine.
Great video for every car. Hope you get more views
Thanks for taking the time to tell us you liked it!
Let us know if there's any other videos you'd like to have us create.
Would you mind going over the reasons why the headlight might be flickering? The brightwork find the blinker works fine in the parking light works fine, but from time to time my headlight will flicker off.
There's a few reasons, depending on what type of lights you have. It could be as simple as a bulb burning out, or as much as a ballast problem. Post your problem on www.northamericanmotoring.com and the users may be able to help you diagnose it.
Hello I will be doing this soon on my Mini 2006. Her name is Vikktoria. How much is the whole kit please?
Thanks for the video very interesting
Question, you have 6.5" polishing pads listed, but in the video, they look much smaller (the ones on the drill). Are they the 4" pads by chance? Thanks!
Yes, any size pad will work, I think those are 4" on a 3" backing plate for the drill.
@@R53Productions Thank you for the video! I just did my headlights this past weekend using your techniques and products listed and they came out looking brand new!
Thank you for this video. Wish I had seen it last month. I had vinyl on my headlights for 4years and tried to take it off. It was such a mess. Couldn't get residue off and fried everything from AutoZone and O'Reilly's. Nothing worked. I sanded it and sealed with clear coat but still not clear. I will have to try this.
omg
LMFAO
You can get same result by cutting foam pad on cordless drill and something like schol s3 gold paste or any metal polish paste :)))) 1 step and you done. 5 minutes job for both lights.
if there be cracks, chips and burns in clearcoat then your p1000 wont help you changing anything
Nice work but ...... why dont you lift the hood before doing the job !
In the first generation BMW MINI's (in this case an R53) the lights are connected to the bonnet. Subsequent generations have cut-outs in the bonnet for the lens.
@@R53Productions can you list where to buy product.?
wldrose23 the products are all listed in the comments. They can all be purchased online at your local Chemical Guys
