Well done for standing your ground and trying to educate them. Tough encounter for anyone but especially for a volunteer Thank you for protecting the river
You shouldn't be bailiffing alone . There should always be two of you just incase circumstances like this arise . By filming and being alone you've left yourself wide open to all kinds of accusations and threats and possible physical violence . Also do you think the angling trust will pay your bills and court fees if you end up in hospital or worse . We pay a licence fee to cover bailiffs and enforcement . You're doing the EAs job for free and will get left high and dry if things turn bad . I admire your courage and loyalty and obvious passion for your local river but keep things in perspective 👍😊🎣🎣🎣
Guy needs a lesson on concealment. Doing something illegal in broad daylight right next to a road. A self respecting poacher might be doing that at 4 am . Also if you get caught be nice to the person who caught you as you might get a sympathy vote
Well done they know exactly what they are doing we have the same issue on my local rivers. It's not hard to follow the rules and the different seasons for fishing.
The loophole in a closed season is you can fish with a bottom bait with a 2 oz lead weight and a hook no smaller than a size six the idea of that is you can only fish for eels but all fish eat bottom baits, I haven’t fished for about 5 years so it may have changed since then. Did they get a fine in the end ✌️
Be careful pal not worth it especially being a volunteer give the advice rightly so but when threats start just walk away best option when your single handed
After an encounter like this when my young daughter was with me, I just discreetly call the proper authorities and wait for them to deal with it. Then leave with a smile.
I actually am happy when my licence is checked (was checked last week by a lovely chap). Most anglers are, it's the ones who clearly are in the wrong who are the most aggressive. I do worry though given the people who are being dealt with may get extremely violent towards an EA bailiff. Whilst it means checking half the number of venues, maybe pairs of EA officers might be needed for their safety.
Guy also needs a lesson on dental care. Although it’s a little bit too late now. There’s no point in brushing one tooth! The one tooth wonderer needs to pipe down.
Originally, I was going to side with these two because I hate bailiffs, but to be fair you was more than nice to them, just giving advice and a chance to move to a place that's legal. As for the violence (rock throwing), the police should have been called, and you should have pressed charges. Plus, to be called a paedophile is absolutely disgusting on their part. If someone can name and shame these two morons it might help stop people acting in this way.
Disgraceful behaviour by these two poachers. If that is a club water they are trespassing. Just returned to england after a weeks holiday in northern ireland. Not a bailiff in sight and dubious anglers fishing with hand lines lighting fires on the bank and letting fish flip around on the stones of the bank. Not a landing net in sight either. Suppose you don't need one if you don't return the fish!!! Experienced this on the river quoile and river erne. As a holiday angler i think i was the only one to have a licence too!
You have to feel sorry for the kids he mentions. Clearly he has mental issues but is also an embarrassment to his children. I can’t image having a father like that, the poor sods.
There were other serious offences reported at the time, those rocks nearly hit a passing primary school and they were throwing racist remarks at the young Muslim girls before I arrived on the scene.
It’s not that they didn’t know about closed season and it was a club run water it’s the fact they don’t care and think they can do what they want and that your wrong for telling them ⚓️s
That the trouble in the UK always some rule or another saying you can't do this you can do that people have been fishing for thousands of years but now rules rules rules I could understand it if they had big net's across the river you can see people like this have a hard time in life and just want a bit of fun fishing some people should just concentrate on their own life instead of everyone else's
Pick your battles pal. It's not like you walked across them with a bag full of fish. I get that technically you're in the right, but filming this and putting it on UA-cam, I personally think was inciting and technically wrong.
He’s kicking off because he knows he’s guilty. What a scumbag.
Fair play for standing your ground buddy, doing a great job for the community.
Well done for standing your ground and trying to educate them. Tough encounter for anyone but especially for a volunteer
Thank you for protecting the river
He's got kids? Jesus. Imagine what his Mrs looks like. Judging by the state of him she must be a right dog.
they should be banned for life they know what there doing well done for standing up to them mate there annoyed becaus you caught them poaching.
It’s always the people with no teeth that start the most shit.
why does the asylum let these people out unsupervised.
What a lovely example he's setting for the kids. I'm sure they will grow up to be well rounded individuals 😂
Needs to be jailed for 18 months

Oh Ian, you are so brave. Be careful, people can be so aggressive.
Identify, name and shame!

Well done you for standing up to him. Hope it spoilt his day. He hopefully had another opportunity to show his ‘Good Parenting’ skills to the police!
They seemed smart LOL
Beavis n Butthead.Look at the underbite😆😆
Get them nicked. Well done Ian. 👊🏼🤝
Well done bud people like this hate getting caught stealing
Everyone else has to wait out the 3 months close season . They are no different .
Not one brain cell between the two of them.
See why the mouthy one in the Blue T-Shirt had No Teeth 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
What has this country come to you were so polite poaching is rife and needs to stopped
The older guy was a goon he was bright as a 40w bulb
Well done they know exactly what they are doing we have the same issue on my local rivers. It's not hard to follow the rules and the different seasons for fishing.
A volunteer bailiff 😂😂
Looks like he been chewing rocks.😂😂😂😂
What a lovely young man

Well done for standing your ground. Shame they started throwing their ground at you. Lunatics!

He’s only got enough teeth to send a pickled onion dizzy 👀
No fish on the caravan table that night 😂
More teeth or brain cells , thats a hard question ! 🤣
They're having a day off of pikying.
life has gone bad this sort of behaviour is common
can't even fish in peace these days
Imagine the lack of respect these clowns have for any fish they might be lucky enough to catch.
Another example of the sewage to be found on the banks of our rivers these days
Be careful pal not worth it especially being a volunteer give the advice rightly so but when threats start just walk away best option when your single handed

I am also a VBS we don't have any enforcement powers but data gather and report, ring the police, by the way I work in South Manchester
I'm guessing the police didn't respond as this sort of "crime" is hardly high on their priority list.
It’s the fish that gives them brains 🧠
Guy also needs a lesson on dental care. Although it’s a little bit too late now. There’s no point in brushing one tooth! The one tooth wonderer needs to pipe down.
To many on that river needs a good long term plan / enforcement ea need more resources

Multiple charges can be brought here ,gummy bear the freak
Who missed out on an education, then? 🤔
They know they are in the wrong. So abusive 😕
All he had to say is that he was fishing for trout 🤷🏻
Jesus, you couldn’t have been more fair than you were and they respond like that! Cretins!
They are so thick
just needed the barking dog to male a full house

There are much worse things going on than a couple of lads fishing with there kids correct me if i am wrong?
You have to feel sorry for the kids he mentions. Clearly he has mental issues but is also an embarrassment to his children. I can’t image having a father like that, the poor sods.
Got your rod license chaps ???pmsl
Caravan enthusiast.
Please tell me the police showed up?
There were other serious offences reported at the time, those rocks nearly hit a passing primary school and they were throwing racist remarks at the young Muslim girls before I arrived on the scene.
And no, I didn’t get any follow up from Lancashire police
Pee doh poa cheers,taf Tawton.
Well if they can't catch him they ain't trying
Ignorance does not excuse you breaking the law, they know what they are doing, hope they were reported to EA and get banned
I don’t think that guy is very well
Absolutely disgusting should be banned for life. U was absolutely in your rights
I'm fishing for the gd locnest monster, if I catch a trout it's not my fault they don't know nessie bait when they see it..
It’s not that they didn’t know about closed season and it was a club run water it’s the fact they don’t care and think they can do what they want and that your wrong for telling them ⚓️s
