    Please continue with the Bambu Lab videos, I'm trying to learn everything I can. I am new to this 3D printer and the way you teach it I understand it so easily and clearly, thank you very much for the info, don't stop.

      You got it! I do appreciate the watch and comment too. Every bit of encouragement and feedback helps me know if I am headed in the right direction for topics, content pacing and general interest. Thank you. 😁

    You make some of the most practical and informative videos for Bambu studio. Thank you for all of the invaluable teachings!

    Super video, easy to understand and very practical. Very timely for me as a friend just asked me to make a cap for a push-to-talk switch. The cap is a solid rectangle with a Cutout and a pin in the middle. It requires the CENTER OPTION to keep the pieces aligned as U build the part, just like UR video. THANKS David.

      Excellent! Funny how things workout like that.😊 I hope the project goes well..

    Excellent vid
    1. Is there anyway to Bevel Outside or Inside edges on a cube in Bambu Studio?
    2. Could you show example of adding a pin in the center of the hole created in the first cube? The pin is necessary to align/hold the cube into another object. The cube will be a cap over a push button switch.
    3. Can you show how to create a concave or convex shape on top of the cube?
    Basically I am talking about creating key tops for a special keyboard layout that I have!
    Thanks David

      Hello. You could certainly bevel an edge it would be a kludgy way of doing it in slicer. Full cad programs would give more tools and flexibility.
      You are basically using negatives/mesh boolean to make them.
      I will try to create a short video making some things in slicer. may take a bit of time as I will either need to make it from scratch, or find stl files and modify them.

    You are correct, please make this type of content for those of us new to 3d printing. I've dabbled in tinkercad and I guess fusion 360 is the way to but until I get there, these tips allow me to do the basic things I need to mod an existing stl. For instance I needed to shave off the feet of a microcontroller case and it was simple enough once I saw how you did it in bamboo studio. Yes I will eventually get around to fusion tutorials but until then these are very valuable.
    Thank you.

      Thank you very much. I have been trying to avoid going into crazy indepth videos if general modifications can be made to get the same result.

    So much easier than what I've been doin, trial and error to get tops to fit. I was doing the top with a projection into the box.

    Good stuff as usual, thanks! I love being able to do most of my work in BS. The big thing that keeps me on Fusion is I'm a sucker for fillets 😅 If BS added a way to fillet edges, I would be so happy!
    Also, making these would be a good way to calculate your machine's perfect X-Y hole compensation so that you don't have to scale down your extra pieces for the perfect fit.

      Hey hey. You comment was sitting in limbo on my side. idk why..
      A full fledged CAD program has way more tools to work with and I hope Bambu is watch,/listening and implementing some more advanced tools.
      You are correct in using these as a a quick way to check tolerances.

    I have recently subscribed to your channel. I am new to 3D printing, purchasing a new Bambu A1 a month ago. I purchased the files for a RC airplane. The airplane files are already sliced parts. I would like to re-join some of the parts to re-slice them like I would like them sliced. This would make them join easier and precise when gluing the parts together. I designed an airplane on my own and when slicing for printing, put dowel holes at the slice so they would join precisely. This worked so well I’d like to use it on the purchased airplane files. Please consider making a video addressing how to match these pre-sliced parts before assembling. Is there a precise way of doing this in Bambu Studio? Thanks

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  7 місяців тому

      Hello. Do you have a model that I could look at . (makerworld, printables) and I can see if I can make a video on joining pieces and resizing. unless it can be on any model.

    • @chucksdesk
      @chucksdesk 7 місяців тому +1

      @@ashleys3dprintshop Thanks for your reply. Any model should do. I paid for the files to print a radio controlled airplane and they came in many STL files, each a different slice of the whole model. After printing each file, they are to be glued together but because there is just a flat surface where the slice pieces join, they can easily get miss-aligned while the glue sets. With my airplane I designed, I put 4mm holes aligned with each other in the pieces so just a small piece of tubing aligns the parts again for gluing. I hope somewhere in this soup I was able to convey the right information you need. Thanks

      @ashleys3dprintshop  7 місяців тому

      @@chucksdesk I am looking for some free or near free models to test. The ones that are precut without peg holes can be manipulated in slicer and joined with a created peg. I am wondering if it would mess with the weight or integrity of the parts. I am a novice to airplane models so it will be a learning experience. I am familiar with joining pieces so the techniques should translate over.

    Can I ask how you get such a smooth top surface on the lids (or any print) What setting are you using? I assume you are using a bambu printer? Thanks in advance!

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  9 місяців тому

      Yes(you can ask) and yes(I use a bambu lab printer). 😁So I wish I can say I did anything special but this was all default settings. Thank you for the question.
      There are settings to help smooth out top surfaces called ironing. If you are running into issues.
      You can find it under the *quality settings* , *Ironing*
      top surface
      top most surface
      solid surface

    Cntrl+A select all

    • @ashleys3dprintshop
      @ashleys3dprintshop  5 місяців тому

      @@SwitchToRumble Be wary of using ctrl+a as it will select every item on every build plate including items out side of build plates. In more advanced projects using multiple plates, test iterations it's common to over select items. But for condensed projects " select all" is the way to do it.
      There is also ctrl+mouse click and select/ unselect items.
      Shift+ mouse click (first and last) work fine.
      And you can do this on the build plate or in the Process: objects area.
      All info is helpful info. 😁 Thank you, for watching, commenting and reminding of keyboard shortcuts.
