Bambu Lab Breaks It (and how to fix it) SVG issues.
Hello everyone. I have a bunch of videos on my channel that show how to use an SVG file to create your own models for printing
This worked fine until recently. The latest Bambu studio update breaks the old functionality and is a less useful as a result. Here is a video on how to get that feature back.

Smallest Text using .2mm nozzle.
Переглядів 6 тис.7 місяців тому
Greetings, everyone. In 90% of my videos, I have been using the stock 0.4mm nozzle. However, even with adjustments, there are limits to the level of detail I can achieve with a model. Today, I am evaluating the 0.2mm nozzle to determine how small I can make text. By combining the nozzle with the line width, I can extrude a minute amount of filament to produce legible text.

First, thank you for the very helpful videos. But... As a couple others have pointed out, an update to BS/OS has changed the text dialog and doing curved text seems impossible. 'Use surface' is there, but no 'Horizontal' option and 'Per glyph' doesn't produce the desired results. Help! I'm teaching a class in 3D and will use a X1C to print models but I want to include BS/OS tips in the class. With this functionality missing, it will pretty much destroy creating a maker chip in the slicer using curved text. Help? Insights? (I can clearly create curved text in any solids modeler I use, but thought this would be a useful exercise.) Thanks!!
Hello. Thank you for the question. That video is about a year old (Jan 2024) and the version used was Bambu Studio 1.8. My only solution is to run an older version when creating curved text. There is a way to run old and new versions concurrently by installing them in different folders. Bambu studio 1.8.3 found here github.com/bambulab/BambuStudio/releases/tag/v01.08.03.89 Running more than 1 version on the same computer. ua-cam.com/video/N_2I7VBu8lo/v-deo.html So while not an elegant solution from orca or bambu it is a solution for now.
At last, a faster startup. I wonder if this works for the A1 too.
Awesome.👍
whats the smallest line width a .4 nozzel can do?
Hi, I don't have an AMS (yet) but want to use a different filament for only the logo. Do I need to code this so the print stops after printing my logo allowing me to change filament and continue or can I manually pause the print then change the filament? Hope you can help, Great video by the way thank you.-
Hi, do you know how do I remove a text already coming to a project? Your video was very helpful, thanks 😊
Thank you for the question. There can be a few ways to do it depending on if it is flush, debossed(sunk), embossed (raised) This video touches on the technique. ua-cam.com/video/e146NGNfhr0/v-deo.html
just getting into 3d printing, next time show us how to make a keychain where hello kitty is a character statue 1.5 inches tall standing up. Also maybe how we could make a statue key chain from a family photo to give to a family member for a birthday. Great job well done I suscribed and thumbs up
This worked on my A1 Mini but I had to use port 990 (discovered by nmap)
Thank you for this. I don't have an A1 series so feedback from the community is essential.
This is super neat and easy. Any Idea of how to make a text version of this easily? Say with a black outline and white text on this inside? You've gained a sub!

You rock! Thank you very much.
Nice that bambu has this feature. I like tinkercad for these simple parts and processes
Tinkercad is awesome to learn and create in. I think I got a bit lazy trying to do everything in slicer but I do need to go over there from time to time.
Thank you
Thank you for watching and commenting
Thanks for all the incredibly helpful videos Ashley.
Thank you very much. You rock. 😁
Have to comment yet again, Ashley. Your videos are so damn helpful, man. Every time I'm having issues with slicerCAD (hehe), I come to your videos and get the answer I need.
Mine just crashes every time I try to import a SVG Version1.10.1.50
I haven't gone into the crashes in detail. If could be a few reasons. 1. Broken SVG files. 2. Files that have a bunch of lines, strokes parts. 3. Manipulation of the SVG file with errors.
Thanks so much!! I was so frustrated. Glad you clarified.
You are so welcome! It was a shock seeing all my previous videos become next to useless. Thank you for watching and commenting.
I have tried this about 30 times. I think Vectorizer AI changed something when they went off beta. My JPG files comes out as a solid block. In my objects window, I only see one object.
It's not you. It's most likely the slicer. Bambu studio's latest version changed how SVG files are handled This video covers it. ua-cam.com/video/N_2I7VBu8lo/v-deo.html
I’ll work this tomorrow. Thanks so much. Love your videos!!
@ That almost worked for me. Much better. When I transfer to the slicer, it doesn’t come over in neat “parts” like on your video. For example, the parts seem fragmented and way too many. Nor do they light up for me when I hover the mouse over it. I’m assuming you used the standard AI VECTORIZER settings? I’ll get it. I did the last version of 1.9. Is that what you used? Happy Holidays.
I want the G code but I get an error message 404 page not found. Please where can I find this G code?
Disclaimer: Use at your own risk While not my code I have uploaded what I used from the video to a google drive folder. I have been using this code for years. This is for X1 and P1 series printers. One for general printing and the other for Carbon filled filaments. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1lziqpspFfge2u2PNCMu0qfnCwx_13XeZ?usp=sharing There are other types too from printables( I havent tested these) www.printables.com/model/552489-bambu-lab-x1-carbon-fast-start-end-gcode/files
Congrats. I searched for adding logo, found your video where you laid it out so smooth you'd think it was a bedsheet on a high end hotel bed. Im over here following click for click with the quickness. Perfect. Thanks. got a sub and a like
Thank you very much. 😊
You are a true saint... Thank you
Thank you very much. 😁
Your videos are sooo good. I do a part time class for Bambu beginners for a local Bambu reseller. I always recommend your videos.
You are awesome. Thank you. 😊

Thank you very much😊
This was EXACTLY the info I needed & really helped me. Thank you.
Thank you very much. There are some other techniques that can be helpful for you. ua-cam.com/video/DxFQfYj-baM/v-deo.html
That's a lot of tedious work to test and show us. It's nice to see your prints at the end too. Thank you for the videos, youv'e explained a lot of questions I didn't even know i had yet. :D
Thank you very much. I appreciate the watch and comment 😊
When I import any svg, I only get the outline(Sides) and no bottom. What am I doing wrong?
Thank you for the question. Yov have done nothing wrong. Unfortunately Bambu lab changed some functionality with the latest Bambu studio update. This video covers the problem with a solution by running an older version. ua-cam.com/video/N_2I7VBu8lo/v-deo.html
Thanks for this video. I've watched lots of youtube videos on using svg files with BambuLab printers, and was one of the features that encouraged me to buy my A1. I received the printer, and printed a few files yesterday, and was going to try out the use of svg's from Inkscape today. Luckily I found your video first! So it saved me hours of frustration trying to copy videos using the old version of Bambu Studio. Thanks again ... subscribed!
What about shaping the Ms. Kitty, just as you did, but THEN separating from the ball and printing separately. Once done, CA glue it to the face. I'm very new, but watching, learing and a lot of thinking, "What IF's?". Is there a reason that can't work? I feel bad for those who see the, "Just press print", and buy a printer. There's a HUGE learning curve!! Even with Bambu!
Excellent observation. There can be many ways to complete this project. Specifically this could debossed and the image printed separately, even with a different orientation, and glued in. You are a natural for asking, theorizing and experimenting different solutions. This hobby can be great for click and print folks, and for those who go a little bit under the surface a whole new world of possibilities open up.
Thank you!

What do I do when I get that error? I get it a lot and don't know how to finish my project.
@@connieclinton1456 Hello. I can try to help, which error are you seeing on your end? Or if you can point to the time stamp on my video.
@ I can’t upload a screenshot of it is there a way I can message it to you please?

great video! love the use of an actual example

Thank you so much for this. I'm new to this and didn't know about the "negative part"
Thank you very much. There are some other techniques you can do here. ua-cam.com/video/DxFQfYj-baM/v-deo.html
So how would I add this (logo) to the side of a round object? (wrap?)
You can use some SVG files to wrap images. ua-cam.com/video/_U0ptFu8Jo8/v-deo.html
You are certainly a master. Thank you. New subscriber here.....Is it possible for you to upload that final print as a model? I would like to have it for my own reference when I print things.
Welcome aboard. I humbly thank you for subscribing. I added that model to makerworld here if you wanted to have a look. makerworld.com/models/528398
It would be nice to be able to use the ‘filament menu’ to do the swap, but this does seem to work. I have an AMS but I didn’t want an unnecessary waste of a purge tower and just wanted 2 colors starting at a certain point.
That would be a fantastic option. I mainly use this this method for abrasive and tpu filament that either isn't compatible with the AMS or choose up the PTFE tubes. If I'm only doing a few color swaps the cost is less than a penny for the type of filament I use in the ams so the waste is minimal.
Thanks!
You are awesome. Thank you very much. 👍😁
Can I just say you made my life so easy with this video even though I was using Anycubic the process was close to the same!!!
I believe the anycubic slicer is based on prusa slicer or Orca so glad to hear that the steps are similar. Thank you for the comment
Sorry for an unrelated comment but I can’t find this answer anywhere. Can iron out specific layers? I see you can iron every layer or just top
Excellent question. There are 2 main answers and one situational answer, but it may be the best solution. 1.Ironing top or top most surfaces, does just that. You can iron out imperfections or make a cleaner cosmetic look. 2. Ironing solid layers. Or layers that have 100% infill or is all walls. Situational Using *modifier* . The rules above go out the window. With a modifier you can make any part of your model solid to iron or almost any variation of infill, walls fuzzy skin etc. Modifier ua-cam.com/video/FFylfvJ0Xpk/v-deo.html There is an omission in that video as you can add several height range modifiers instead of just one or just use shapes. In summary using normal methods it's all or nothing, top or topmost unless you make the while model 100% infill which can be overkill in print time. Use modifier to pick a section to adjust.
@ fantastic! I’m going through your list. Your a lot of help and I really appreciate when do something more than once to summarize. It’s very helpful in helping see the workflow all at once right after you’ve explained it.
Does the mirror work for painting? Like if I want to color the model for a second filament?
Hello. Great question. The mirror mode does not directly affect painting the model. So you can paint, then mirror or mirror than paint with similar results. The only issue I could potentially see is mirror mode may "reverse" text or writing, but painting in generally should be fine.
This was awesome thank you!!
Thank you very much for watching and the kind words😊
Where does the print-head go when the 'pause' code is executed?
, sorry about the late response. The print head goes to the back left of the printer
