- Rawhide is performed on American Music Shop by the 1992 instrumental winners at IBMA plus fiddle player Mark O'Connor. Banjo--Tom Adams, Guitar--David Grier, Mandolin--Sam Bush, Bass--Roy Huskey, Dobro--Jerry Douglas.
David Grier is such an amazing player!!! What a unique style.
Sam was killing it on this one.
Insane, wildly fantastic! Thanks for posting these experts doing their craft!!
Great musicianship all around but you will seldom if ever hear a Dobro solo played like Jerry Douglas did in this song. That guy is just on a different level.
Rob Ickes is better lol
@@lucasposillico765 Can't agree with you on this one. Ickes is undoubtedly
one of the best but technically I believe Douglas has the edge. For an upcoming dobro player check out Justin Moses playing "she's crazy"
@@lucasposillico765 Ickes is good, but Jerry is the King. Not even close.
Ickes is one of the greats but Jerry Douglas is from an entirely different planet ! Without question the best I have ever heard in my 72 years.
It looks like Tom Adams won quite a few Banjo of the Year awards back in the day. I wonder why we don’t hear from him as much anymore? I wish guys like him and Jim Mills were still touring and frequenters in the awards platforms, but I know that kind of life gets old, and after a while, you just need to retire and be with your family.
He was diagnosed with focal dystonia in his middle finger. Such a shame. His Adams County Banjo album was amazing.
Yeah, that's Rawhide!
Sam Bush... every note clean and nary a muffed note in the whole performance. How is that possible at those speeds ? And the other players as well ? Impossible I say :)
Good mandolin player. Not in same league with Ronnie McCoury and Chris Thile others but super talented
Yea, just brilliant.
I like Rawhide🎵 !
Where’s Stuart Duncan?? He was fiddle player of year in 92’?
