Sam and Tag
This is a video of my friend Tag and a much younger and thinner version of me playing a medley of old timey songs on guitars at a church social in 1990. Tag plays the lead on his electric and I finger pick the accompaniment on my acoustic guitar.

What is the origin and name of it? Is it from the Civil War period, or like Ashoken Farewell does it just sound fitting to the time?

When I First Said I Loved Only You - Maura O'Connell

Maura O'Connell singing on American Music Shop in the 1990's. I think the accompaniment was at least in part done by her own performing troupe. This version comes from Irish playwright Sean O'Casey's adaption of the earlier poem/song by Canadian schoolteacher George Johnson grieving the imminent death of his young wife Margaret (Maggie). Though the couple were not to enjoy long life together, t...

Pretty song in waltz time by Kieran Kane assisted by Emmylou Harris, Barry and Holly Tashian, and Mark O'Conner on American Music Shop in the early 1990's. Video quality is poor but I think the audio is passable. Note Mark's beautiful fiddle lead at the end.

Carlene carter didn’t get the recognition she should have imo shes great and still should be singing on the opry or something.
This man is a favorite of ours
Saw her at Fanfare in Nashville back in the 90's. Loved her then, love her now, timeless voice, it doesn't get much better than this ❤️

Its 2024 and im still listen. To this beautiful. Song! I love spanish song! And this one is excelent❤❤❤
Música mais linda da Carlene Carter. Linda como ela!
Just gorgeous!
Total pros.
I heard her singing this song in Salt Lake City around 1990, or so, she was with De Danaan and it was first time I'd ever heard the song. Later I bought their LP and have enjoyed it! But, in the meantime, I've found that this is a really old song and probably should be sung by a male voice. But, where I come form, a song is a song and Miss O'Connel's voice is wonderful!
Maggie is also a male name.
it's 2024. Only Ben and T.Michael remain.. A band like this wont be seen for a long time again..if ever..
If you are speaking of Ben Eldridge, he just passed on April 14, 2024. Sorry RIP Ben !!
Ben Eldridge passed 4/14/2024
As good as it gets .. 😊
She stole my heart at Wheatland Music Festival. Performed with the psuedo-celts. When she came on Sunday morning, I was at camp. I boogied it down to main stage as fast as I could.
She's very authentic, makes her amazing.

This is her own band? I thought it was Paddy Maloney of the Chieftains on the tin whistle. But the view is not HD.
This is the first time i've heard this Lady sing . WOW simply Beautiful.
Is that Albert Lee and Mark O'Connor? Wow, I had heard she had a good band but having those guys out there is amazing. She was a class act.
yes, that's right . . . the program was the "American Music Shop" back in the 90s . . . a great, great program featuring live performances . . . . . ..
yes, Albert Lee & Mark O'Connor were part of the house band for this show "The American Music Shop" on The Nashville Network back in the l990s . . . it was a fantastic program featuring live performances by a new guest each week . . . . .
by the way, Mark O'Connor was listed in the show credits as the musical director for the show . . . so, that's why "The American Music Workshop" was so great . . . oh, Jerry Douglas was a part of that house band!
@@dpausa Wow Douglas, O'Connor and Albert Lee! Talk about your supergroups.
those house band members were and are all incredible musicians !!!!!!!!!!!

Very lovely
The violets were scenting the woods Maggie Displaying their charms to the breeze When I first said I loved only you Maggie And you said you loved only me The chestnut blooms green through the glades Maggie A robin sang aloud from the tree When I first said I loved only you Maggie And you said you loved only me A golden row of daffodils shone Maggie And danced with the leaves on the breeze When I first said I loved only you Maggie And you said you loved only me The birds in the trees sang a song Maggie Of happy a trance for us to be When I first said I loved only you Maggie And you said you loved only me Our dreams they have never come true Maggie Our hopes they never were to be When I first said I loved only you Maggie And you said you loved only me
Charming girl 😊❤
