Yeah, they had a special 2 for 1
Uhh no homo tho
Will just say this just in case someone cares, if you press the M key while playing (or title screen), you unlock Mathew, which has 4 choices when you start a run (I’m pretty sure it unlocks by losing or beating a run, but this is the easiest way)
1: Get 2 Uncommon Items
2: +10 Max HP
3: A Random Bow + 2 Random Arrows (It says “Become an Archer”) (The bow and both arrows will also be uncommon or common rarity)
4: Get 1 Rare Item
Edit: Text in brackets explaining more.
I will say that in game it says “become archer” however once chosen you can still use your starting items and stuff if you want.
you only get 1 random arrow i think the the other arrow depends on what bow you have
I was just going to say that
Bro I did this accidentally I thought it was normal 💀
Oh that’s how you unlock it? I thought you just got it by doing well on a previous run like the Neow stuff in Slay the Spire
HUGE tip: you can put bloons under bricks (stack two bricks replace bottom one) so you can surround bloons with bricks witch is YESCOCK
What's funny is he doesn't even try to put a balloon underneath another balloon.
Also, you can do something similar by putting a balloon above a brick and swapping them
i was looking for this comment lol
So dude is just presumably holding his sack of bricks in front of him and the enemies are just breaking their weapons on it

Here's 2 tips:
1. you can have a floating under a heavy item.
2.Bricks+archangel chestplate + haste items is extremely powerful.
what does archangel chestplate do? is it the one that gives dodge?
@@ihatelosing9508 It gives haste
How do you get the heavy item on top the floating item?
@@infiniteplanes5775 i think it has something to do with the double space heavy item
like have 1 spot on top right/left with nothing under, then put the double block I guess
You should revisit bricks sometime with a haste build (Archangel Armor, shields forged with +haste, etc) because it's ABSOLUTELY BUSTED with bricks. Every item in your inventory which adds block adds +haste amount of block, and since brick builds have a lot of separate items this adds up FAST. One of the best item combos for a haste build is Guarding Band and Tooth Necklace. Guarding Band adds haste when you take damage, and Tooth Necklace damages you each turn (and adds rage as a bonus!) Essentially you free haste each turn at the cost of 1 hp.
archangel armor I think is the name, which adds 2 haste is insane.
the problem is that you really need poison counter or you'll die fast.
"free (haste) at the cost"
Something's wrong here, I can feel it
Tooth necklace gets blocked and activates after shields rendering the second combo useless
true, there is no point in a block build if you don’t get lots of haste
@@Blueybeak not so, unless you want to get a few stages further in endless. He did beat this run regardless of haste.
27:40, could have scratched with the remaining energy and used the lucky dagger. The scratch mechanic is rarely useful apart from times like these.
Actual use for scratching, big brain
@@Patashu Unless it's been changed, Scratch also doesn't break Pacifist's Ring. The ring breaks when a weapon is used, and Scratch isn't a weapon. I used this on a cauldron build with a few paci rings for lots of energy for brewing
It all makes sense now! That's incredible lol
@@emdivine Ah, you could also use scratch in a bombstone build if you don't want to blow up a weapon right now
@@Aliensrock You can also end a turn with extra energy and accomplish the same effect (which is sometimes also necessary).
Figured out from experimentation that finding a way to place a heavy object on top of a floating object keeps them both suspended in 'mid-air'. I did this by placing (x) heavy objects on top of each other where x is how high u want the object to be, and replacing the block directly below the highest one with the floating object. Hopefully its intended and not a bug that will be patched in the next update.
Almost certainly intended. Otherwise, it would make no sense for bricks to be common and balloons to be rare.
You can do that with a single brick.
Just place it in the same collumn as baloon, then place brick over baloon (or baloon over brick) to replace it and baloon aligns itself below the brick.
If you want to change it's height, repeat the process few times. Every time I do that, baloon makes it's way one block higher.
So, fun fact: haste affects structures. I have a build going that's absolutely broken. I have a structure, and a shield that gives me +1 haste when I use it. I can get to 999 armor after ~12 turns (if I use the shield 3 times every turn). 999 armor is the also the max, you just can't go above it.
(you CAN go above 999 attack on a weapon though).
YEAH I BREAK RUNS WITH 999 ARMOR 999 HP 999 SPIKE 999 REGEN 999 HASTE
(RUNS LAST HOURS)
Every game he plays, he shows a greater understanding of how the game works.
Yes, but he uses 3 lucky rings and then wonders why are bricks getting rarer.
Kickstarter is gonna end in 33 hours, if you like the game, donate and you can get a steam key for the game after the Kickstarter ends, it'll have the latest build at all times because the itch version will eventually stop getting updates.
I highly recommend it for anyone who is interested in the game because we don't know when it'll actually be purchasable on steam. There's so much content that'll be coming to this game :D
Note to readers: “eventually” means “literally right now”. This is the last free build; all future builds are Kickstarter-exclusive. If you want to play with stuff like the planned magic rework, donate now.
@@lunascapes oh, sick. Now I'm locked out by happenstance. Dope.
This might just be my favorite series yet. It's just so fun and addicting, and there's so much potential to the game, so many fun possibilities. I love it!
I feel there is wasted potential with all the loot. like ckeeky little fusions. put a balloon under another balloon, it floats up and turns into a single square double balloon that increases the properties of it and maybe adds a new effect
so like a pseudo crafting?
that sounds amazing
maybe an item that merges 50% of the effects of items might be interesting.
@@satibel I feel like if merging was a thing, it should be tied to either a forge or shop instead, because saving space is OP and having an item that does that would show the difference between "merge" runs and "no merge" runs
would it turn into a MOAB?

great quote
27:57 shouldve taken the haste ring, haste stacks INCREDIBLY well with structures, my haste-brick build had 28 base block, but 90+ after one turn cos of the amount of haste I could build
Ha! What do you have in your bag? A pile a bricks?
Oh wait really?
I could be wrong but I believe you can put light items under heavy items and vice versa, as long as one of them is already there. So at 26:32 you might’ve been able to put the brickwall hanging off of the 2 bricks on the left and trapped a balloon between all the bricks
And then he turned himself into a brick wall, funniest shit I've ever seen
I hope that once you’ve done a lot of the current builds, you do some hybrids, it’d be real cool.
Just started watching the video, but in case you didn’t know, you can rest a heavy object on top of a floaty one. So you can put a brick on top of a balloon.
Talk about Bricking in a run! This was a pleasure to watch and I can't wait for more!
Another day, another vid! Always great getting a new video in the inbox.
I appreciate that you called out the fact that you can stack the bricks going upward, but didn't take advantage of stacking the balloons downward...
(also ty to the many commenters who mentioned suspending a heavy item on top of a floating item; TIL)
Playing Slay the Spire means I have a monkey neuron activation moment whenever I see windmill.
"OhH? EneRGy ReLIc!"
I love bricks "CRUNCH"
you can actually "arch" over with multi-space structures, so with the 2x1 brick wall you could have one side suspended in the air if the other side still follows the correct 'heavy' ruleset. this also allows you to place the balloons underneath the bricks which then will cancel each other out and allow you a floating section in the middle of your pack
idk of you will see this commend but you don't want letter below the target weapon, you want 1 space above where the letter will go. you can see when it will/won't buff with the dotted lines and your first activation with the letter below doesn't buff and you miss the last buff when it can't move up anymore
I d personally recommend fighting the fleeing opponents first as you get xp based on the enemies you kill, not on what general fights you engage in.
Those guys are so annoying, but engaging with that mechanic early on also teaches you about how to manage curses, since Honey is such a weak curse.

3.A Brick build in Backpack hero
You can put the bricks on top of the balloons and they will stay still and not sink past each other
4:25 tyler calling the balloon as bloon lol
Always amazing content, obsessed over this game!
That's some big brick energy, right there.
You can create a pocket with bricks as long as you place a wall horizontally hanging off of another brick. That way you can trap a balloon and have it touch three structures at once. It doesn't have to float to the top of the backpack.

A brick. The epidemy of exciting things. - Tyler
A brick build sounds interesting, I’ve seen the bricks around and never really payed any mind since alone they’re pretty useless, it’ll be cool to see a useful way to include them
tbh. you have to commit to the brick build as like a wall, you need more than 1 brick. or a mana vault. ontop of a good weapon with it
Honestly they're more haste than same item stacking
Its kind of hard to make brick builds due to needing large amounts of the same item, plus alot of structures, then a weapon that works well with them, Maybe earth blade since bricks can hold it up.
@@Jawsomest float items and anchored could also hold it up. you cant anchor a heavy item to stay up sadly. i tried
@@tylercunanan8255 I swear there was was some arrow called "lightning arrow", that heavy items could ride ontop of to create a platform.
By the way, floating items can hold up heavy objects! You can do it by having the floating and heavy item in the same column and swap them by dragging one over the other!
This is the only game where you actually WANT to brick.
Guess you could say that if this mouse runs from a fight, he'd _"hit the bricks."_

Just started playing this game love it so much.
21:05 confirms it, not that the jump cuts weren't obvious enough. alien savescums by closing the game and opening it back up, loading from the last save several times a video without disclosing that he does so. His previous items change into something else, as his save was before the last fight and he had different items to choose from after. Basically, you aren't seeing "godlike runs", as much as you are seeing someone reload saves when something unfortunate happens, he loses the run, or he just wants to cycle through loot items after loading several times to get what he wants.
The jump cuts are for your entertainment purposes only. Look at the experience change in the top left - all that happened was that I cut out a boring fight. The only new items were random consumables picked up at the end of that fight. You're going to look at a stupid block potion and think that I would reload the game to get THAT?!? Get real.
Pog you used the consumable/letter strat I commented on the last letter build!
Personally my favorite build in this game so far is a spikes build. You basically only have the helmet of spikes and one boss relic that makes shields add spikes, but you can stack the whole top of your inventory with the helmets and build up tons of spikes each turn, only focusing on blocking. Weak to poison though.
Nobody expects the Spanish Brickuisition!
Aliensrock:maybe I'll get something cool from the glitched potion like a brick
2:53 you can put the brick on top the balloon. or put the balloon under the brick. light and heavy items stop each other
Welcome to the Brick Gang, Tyler.
NOBODY expects the brick build...
AND NOBODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION!
you can stack heavy things on top of floating things and they cancel eachother out!
it should help next time you stumble opon a brick build
Remember , you have scratch attack for 3 damage on the top left , that way you can bring the enemy in dagger kill range.
New definition of “bricked up”
I been loving these videos cant wait to see the next one!
Getting haste pairs extremely well with structure builds. Since haste applies to each item separately
in my experience the bricks are actually pretty good depending on what other items you have, because you don’t have any of the constraints that armor has
what you can also do is stack one brick on the top of the other and then put the balloon at the bottom to replace the first brick therefore stopping the ballon from going to the top
No one expects the reddish brickquisition
My favorite way to end my day
brick, balloon, letter build = dumb fun, put the letter that the bricks next to weapon. Bricks automatically push the letter up when they drop to bottom

Dear god…now that is a beefy mouse
This got me bricked up
In a haste build of mine I found there was a max defense of 99, I think currently the best strategy is to devote your space to one shot-ing and dodging as to not lose health because eventually even that 99 might not cut it
You can use the balloons under the bricks, especially if you have two, you can catch the balloon with a brick
24:55 you can stack balloons downward the same way bricks can be stacked up
You can use the scratch ability to deal 3 dmg base to be able to get enemys into the range of the luck dagger.
The yellow stone that affects the object below it. It can be turned and it affects whatever it’s pointing at. So it doesn’t actualh have to go above the object
ive been playing this so much when im bored, im looking forward to its full release
He does realize there's more structures than just brick
26:47 I feel like going for a brick-axe build would've been better than letter + spear, plus you could sell gems in case you find something in the shop.
Brick builds get half their defense from haste
Well, he is surely bricked up now...
If you have something heavy stacked ontop of another item you can swap the bottom item with a balloon and it won't go up
The power of the supreme brick
Structure builds are like magic builds but instead of mana you're trying to find B R I C K S
And a single source of haste
Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition
25:00 i thought since bricks can be stacked that balloons should also be able to be stacked, so you could have three balloons on the rightmost column at this point
@Aliensrock would you ever make content on the binding of Isaac? You have been playing a lot of rogue like strategy build craft games lately so just thought I would suggest it
TIP: When you use a bow, it does not use the arrow.
This video got me bricked rn
Tyler's all bricked up.
I was bricked up the whole video.
I think I've identified my issue with this game
I'll always have my baseline judgement for a rogue-lite be Slay the Spire. Slay the Spire has two elements to it's design that I think make it great, 1 encounters that have excellent character and remain consistent across many playthroughs, like I can describe for you multiple non-elite encounters across every act, and they'll never be exactly the same but I can tell you *generally* what will happen in them. That's part of getting good at the game, knowing how to build decks that beat these encounters, now this often means that decks tend to be very similar (especially as you go up in ascension) but I think this is a feature not a bug, it makes the odd claw deck or shiv deck all the more memorable when they do work. And right now this game is getting there, but it's lack of variety and the fact that unless something gains spikes it's all basically just attacks or blocks, like curses aren't a real downside, it makes things less memorable while having a smaller pool of enemies, so only really the act three boss is one that sticks out in my brain.
The second feature I love of slay, is that you're never really locked into one thing, sure over time things will go a specific way but on act 3 as iron clad you could always get deadbranch and then the fairly generic corruption+block build you build you were doing gets crazy. Or silent can get shuriken+kunai and all of a sudden shivs are a faster source of scaling damage then poison, and they scale your block too. But builds in this game feel so rigid, because it's foolish to take some safety picks for if the build begins to change. Especially with whetstones, you've upgraded that weapon, now you're going to abandon it, are you a fool?
So until this game grows past what I see as those two problems it's like a 6/10 as roguelites go, (which is still like an 7.5/10 compared to mast games but hey I'm biased an I'll admit it)
This would be an awesome Nintendo DS game! With the 2 screens this would work perfectly!!!
Everyone expects the brick build
