I've watched several videos about the mini 4's tracking, but yours is by far the most detailed. I learned a lot (and said "wow" out loud a few times :)
Usually I find American explanations incredibly long-winded and unnecessarily repetitive but you do a great job. Therefore my congratulations, really well done. And I will not sell my Mini 3 pro but buy the Mini 4 pro with it. Greetings from the Netherlands.
I believe American videos can be long winded for you because the creator feels that you aren't smart enough to grasp the concept on the first go around.
Looking forward to receiving mine. I love the new active track. The only thing is I've never managed to find a way on my mini 3 pro to easily get the controller out of sight when doing something active. Any tips from anyone on this as I think as much as the new easily changeable flight paths are on the new active track it will always be spoilt if you can see the controller in shot, looks less natural.
@JevenDovey 10:16 you reference switching between person and vehicle. What about tracking a person riding a bicycle going about 15 mph? Any idea if it is better to use the person or vehicle setting? Person seems to give more precise control, plus the drone should still be able to make out the outline of a human figure on a bike. But not sure if the vehicle setting is better suited for faster speeds, like riding a bike.
Hopefully they bring it to the air3. One thing that I'm still confused about is that, you can already adjust the distance using joysticks, seems like dji is simplifying the steps for us pilots.
Can you set remote down and it still track you? I surf and use go pros but looking at getting a drone possibly if I can say fly it up set the tracking and it follows
Excellent video, thank you. For me the 'Subject Scanning' switch in Controls is greyed out. What makes it available? Big fan, btw - thank you for a clear and relevant tutorials. UPD: The first boss was beaten successfully - 'Subject Scanning' got enabled after an unknown combo of resolution and FPS was found. I suspect it was 1080 / 30 or 1080 / 24. UPD2: I was looking for these 3 icons in MasterShots and QuickShots modes. They are in default video mode. Problem solved.
Has anyone had any issues using the auto track and the obstacle avoidance not working. Mine ran into the side of the house while following me and the obstacle avoidance icon indicated everything was working normally. It missed a whole house and not a leafless branch as you would expect.
Will the Vehicle mode work just as well for persons? Will the drone move up, down, left, or right on its own despite my setting in order to avoid obstacles?
Can you change the gimbal position while automatically flying between circles in active tracking? And if yes, does it stay it the new position or go after time to the original one?
I am thinking about using the active track to film me while I create art. I see that 6.6 ft is the minimum height... what is the minimum distance? same 6.6 feet?
@JevenDovey I noticed in utah when I used this system filming our gladiators the drone would do very dramatic transitions from point to point. It was pretty neat!
Great cut the chase video especially for someone who has never used these functions before, QUESTION - are you recording AUDIO directly on the controller as you go ?
I have a problem with my mini pro 4 when trying to set active track. In the 'control' menu, when I switch on 'subject scanning' the "FocusTrack Settings" which is supposed to be underneath does not appear at all on the screen. Therefore I cannot access the inner and outer circles to set paraemters as they do not appear on the screen. When I go back to the main screen I see 3 icons: activetrack, spotllight and POI. When I press 'go' on activetrack there is only a single circle with front, back, etc directions but no outer circle.."Trace" and "Parallel" icons do not appear. Any ideas?
About tracking and "never running into anything" - that's so not true. There's a video where guy specifically tests active tracking in not so complex situations IMO. Managed to completely break the drone when it crashed into branches of a single tree over the road. Nearly ran over the drone with a car.. Overall whole video sounds very biased and sponsored by DJI. Especially when praising obstacle avoidance on a plain field with no obstacles in sight
How comes my DJI Mini 4 Pro is always loosing me on a bike or with my car, no obstacles around, no speed and after a while he stops tracking me. It all looks perfect but in the videos but apparantly it's not or may be I do something wrong? Do you do the active tracking in C or N mode? I'm a little bit frustrated.
Great Video. Good job explaining. One question, how to minimize or remove map in lower left corner when you are doing active track 360? Mine seems to stay in place and I can't see the icon for where to place drone as in your video.
Next check out my Complete DJI Mini 4 Pro Beginners Guide: ua-cam.com/video/2J_vW-u7idY/v-deo.html
Im from Mauritius.really appreciate what you do boss
Great video. Instructions were clear and to the point. You are a good teacher. Thanks Jeven. 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
I really like the way he explains❤He is a professional
So helpful! This made me to decide getting one for myself. Thank you so much!!
This so what I wanted in the mini 3 pro.
So excited ❤
is it available for the mini 3 pro?
I've watched several videos about the mini 4's tracking, but yours is by far the most detailed. I learned a lot (and said "wow" out loud a few times :)
Awesome, thank you!
Great video there @Diantane and good explanation!
❤❤❤
Awesome! Could you also make a video of testing obstacle avoidance system in different scenarios?

French from France videos are the longest I know. Poorly planned, unskimmed, and endless before they get to the point. Here you have a good video.
Lol
I believe American videos can be long winded for you because the creator feels that you aren't smart enough to grasp the concept on the first go around.
This is the best explanation of how to use the tracking That I've seen thank you
You're very welcome!
Hopefully a firmware update for the air 3. Seems like a more refined tracking system and controlling features.
The active track can only be enabled when airborne. Preset of this feature is NOT possible! it is disabled again after landing. Be aware of that!
Thanks bro, I was pissed it wasn't working. Still have no idea how to get it to track a subject. Dude doesn't even tell us how to turn it on
That was the best Video about Active Tracking! Thx and greetings from Germany!!!
this video is fantastic thankyou.
very detail, thanks for the info
The best explanation on youtube. Most every other one forget to instruct you how to enable active track via the three dots.
Great and simple demo. Thank you.
Great but now also add this 360 track feature to the mavic3 pro
Yes, please!
Excellent explanation of these tracking modes. The Mini 4 Pro is an awesome drone! Thanks 🙏🏼
Great video! You covered this feature perfect thank you!
Interesting functionallity.
Great video!!! I learned a lot.
Is altitude pretty much within the user's discretion at all times?
Great vid
Very informative
You just gained another like and subscribor
Thanks!
Nice info bro thanks 🙏🏻
Wow! Thanks! That was insightful and all of the info that I wanted to know are there!

Sooo Cool!
Thank you!
🌞👍
Best active track tutorial for the Mini 4 Pro I have seen so far. Excellent presentation.

The grey radar with little person is completely gone from my screen. How can I get it to appear?
Hopefully they bring it to the air3.
One thing that I'm still confused about is that, you can already adjust the distance using joysticks, seems like dji is simplifying the steps for us pilots.
Hi! How is the shortest distance to follow you between you and Mavic?
Mine won't let me turn on Subject scanning? Any help?
Can you set remote down and it still track you? I surf and use go pros but looking at getting a drone possibly if I can say fly it up set the tracking and it follows
Nice bro
Very nice 😎🤝
How to change active track follow from.behind to follow.from Left? we use stick ?

How did you get the "Parallel" and the "Trace" options to show up? I got "Go" and don't see either.
what will be a good suggestion if you mountain biking what should be the Inner Circle the Outer Circle and the height that would be the best
When tracking jet ski mini3 loses track really easy. Do you think this can track better, or is there just these new options?
Lv to know also

@Jeven thanks for this in depth review of Active Track. I can envision super dynamic shots for footage I want to make already!!! Great stuff!!
In the control settings, is Outer and inner height adjustment simply a number or is it feet, meters?
Can you change the gimbal position while automatically flying between circles in active tracking? And if yes, does it stay it the new position or go after time to the original one?
What max fps for active track mode?
I can't seem to get the tracking wheel to appear on my mini pro4 screen,am I missing something in settings, any help would be greatly appreciated
I am thinking about using the active track to film me while I create art. I see that 6.6 ft is the minimum height... what is the minimum distance? same 6.6 feet?
mine has no focus track setting where the hell is it in my controll
Hoping this version comes to the mavic 3 pro. I like it.
Hopefully they add it to the Air 3 as well
@JevenDovey I noticed in utah when I used this system filming our gladiators the drone would do very dramatic transitions from point to point. It was pretty neat!
Can't wait to get back out to Utah and do some overlanding. Working on a trip for October!
@JevenDovey utah was the best I love it out there. I watched the heck out of your content trying to improve my own abilities for our trip. :)
will the crash sensors / obstacle detection sensors work in while tracking ?
When I use Active track the circle doesn't come out in the lower left side of screen, anyone know the reason why?
Did you click Trace? It pops up when you click active track then trace.
@@JevenDovey It's working now, I made a donation to appreciate your quick response.
Love this drone. Time to upgrade my Mini 2!
My ring isn’t showing up with the person! Please help.
I don't get that on mine I still get the map and no orientation diagram
Can i record this active track with this drone?
Great video, man.
Great cut the chase video especially for someone who has never used these functions before, QUESTION - are you recording AUDIO directly on the controller as you go ?
No I use the DJI mic as a recorder and sync up later
Better editing than I ever expect to do, thanks.@@JevenDovey
Subscribe.. good job man 🍻
Do u have to put it on record b4 this works
Postarea este interesantă, dar din păcate nu este titrată și în limba Română !.
very good explanation

Did you enable “Subject Scanning” under Control ?
Thanks for your reply. I reloaded the firmware and problem has been solved.@@wlacalle

Hi Jeven, do the new drones like Mini 4 or Air 3 unlock higher fps with Tracking like 60fps or 120fps?
Why does the drone vid quality so bad? Thought it was supposed to be 4k
It’s not what’s actually being recorded, it’s downgraded for display to reduce latency

My active track sucks, it gets confused and tracks other things
Maybe your drone doesn't like you?
Thank you! I got a lot out of this video and now I can fly my Drone with Active Track. Truly Appreciate this video!
Mini 4 pro is crazy is just got it 2 days ago, its unbelievable performance at night is amazing.
WHY IS THE ACTIVE TRACK NOT APPEARING? WHAT SHOULD I DO
Check your settings and make sure you’re on a mode that allows active track
Great video ! How do you download the screen recording ? Thanks 🙏
Thank for the video, its really well explained!😎
Awesome Instuctions........keep up the great videos
Very clear and very well explained. Thank you very much.
You're Amazing, thanks for that!!🚀🚀
gracias por tu ayuda jeven👍✌
What a great lecture, Bro. Really appreciate it.
Fantastic video and explanation. I learned alot 👍🏻
Neatly explained for rookies like me 🙏
fantastic tips thanks mate!
RC Rainmaker has a video highlighting active track while cycling. The Mini 4 Pro crashed 4 times on one ride.
I feel like you say "DGI" less than other drone creators lol
That’s because it’s D “J” I
@@JevenDovey One of the many reasons I appreciate you and your content haha
謝謝!
Well explained and I think that covered all for the Active Tracking feature of the drone.
Great Video! Thank you for your efforts sir.
