      They are ready. I've had mine for a couple of months, but finally just installed it a couple of weeks ago.

    Getting ready to send mine to a shop for install. Now I’m going to do it myself. Thanks for the video.

    Come on, people, do it yourself! You will feel like a million dollars when you're finished and it works! I'd trust my daughter could install this and she's never worked on a car. Easy stuff!

    GREAT vid and a nice glimpse into being a shop owner that most don't want to or need to see. I have your C6 Max-Din on my shelf ready to be installed and I can't wait to install it MYSELF. Had shoulder surgery so that is putting me behind on life but soon I am going to be back up to speed and I have no concerns about getting it done. Quite frankly, based on this video alone, I am more concerned about learning how to configure it than anything else...which is a non-issue. Keep killin' it!

    Mine has worked amazing since day one. I have never installed a radio, double din, max din etc etc before until this and i did it by looking at two photos to make sure i had stuff plugged in correctly. It was the easiest thing i have ever installed. It just takes about an hour to take the old one out, put the new one in and button it up. Save yourselves money and DO IT YOURSELF! My vette had an aftermarket radio and Damien is right, the previous owner had a shop do it and they f***ed up a ton of crap that i had to fix. This unit is PLUG AND PLAY from start to finish.

    Man, am I glad I installed mine myself. I love my Max Din. It looks fantastic, works great. Super easy to install. I found this video because I'm looking for information on setting up some stuff on my unit.

    I got a quick question I got a 2005 C6 and I have OnStar could I use the existing mic that’s in the car already versus the mic that comes with the radio

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  3 місяці тому

      Some people have made the oem mic work. Sirius XM requires massive licensing fees I could never afford to pay. You can use the xm app or an separate micro receiver through aux line

    In a world where "if it's too good to be true, it usually is", these are too easy to install. It can't be that easy, can it?

      I'd definitely categorize changing brakes as a much tougher job, that's for sure.

    Where can I find the instructions that show how to get the backup camera to work? There is a "rear" wire that is not connected….. that needs to get a signal from the backup lamps I would guess? The Kenwood I pulled out has a PAC RP5-GM11 interface that supplies the reserve input voltage. No explanation that I could find on your site on how to make this work. Honestly a little disappointed with the lack of an owners manual with a comprehensive wiring diagram. Totally fine if it’s online somewhere but as of yet I haven’t found it. Every thing else seems to be working fine….. I can even get the backup camera to work when I go to the video settings but the unit is not getting a trigger from the car that the car is in reverse

    • @mad7stringer
      @mad7stringer 6 місяців тому +1

      Ok I figured out that the “rear” wire needs 12v to change the screen to the rear camera. I think I’ll tap off the reverse fuse in the passenger footwell. Somehow the PAC translates the signals on the stock harness to a 12v signal to feed most radios. I would suggest adding auto detect (instead of a wire) as a future upgrade. For now, please update the online docs to let us DIYers know that the “rear” wire needs to be connected to the reverse lights trigger

      @KnightDriveTV no worries.... the system is working great! I took it to a friend's house yesterday about an hour away and it's like driving a new car. lol I'm getting the rear window tinted soon though...... the angle of the glass to the dash causes a really bad reflection on the screen. This has always been an issue in the c6 though. I had the same problem with the factory unit and a double din Kenwood..... its just how the car was designed and I'd much rather have a glossy screen than a matte one. Anyway, the MaxDin is working awesome! Super happy so far and I haven't even customized anything yet..... just ran Android Auto yesterday.
      Yes please update the online docs...... more info on where to get 12v switched and the reverse lights. Also, how to use the "back" , "key1", "key2", and "amp" wires.
      I figured out what back does and I know from previous experience that amp is for aftermarket amplifier trigger input (or I guess output from the MaxDins perspective). I'm curious about what "key1" and "key2" are used for?

    • @mad7stringer
      @mad7stringer 6 місяців тому

      I found the reverse lights as a light green wire (the only one) coming out of the BCM in the passenger footwell. However, not sure where to get switched 12v without using a fuse tap (hate those things lol). Right now I have it hooked up to the cig lighter which I believe is 12v batt. On a battery tender so hopefully the kenwood rear camera I have doesn't drain too much power until I figure this out.
      I'm hoping that I can use key1 or key2. 😁 Please let me know if that's a good or bad idea..... not going to try anything until I hear back.

    Will these units be able to be upgraded to 5g and so on as the network grows?

    • @KnightDriveTV
      @KnightDriveTV  6 місяців тому

      Like phones, 5g requires new hardware. 4g data, due to business networks, seemingly will be available for quite a while, but that said these will always be compatible with wifi/hotspot/bluetooth connections. Its hard to keep up with the newest, but also keep development affordable. This has been tricky due to low volume manufacturing for these.

      Thanks for the reply, I was curious about how that will work. Always do the work yourself if you want it done right, fully agree with you.
