I'm totally stoked about the C5 unit's design! The snap-in overlay is simplistic, comprehensive, and such a great upgrade to what's available otherwise! I already cut my center bar from my bezel to fit my double-din head unit in years ago. I haven't invested in a custom bezel to date, and to be honest, I've been lying in wait for a product like this to become available. It's awesome to know that those ugly GM HVAC controls from that era will finally be replaced with a modernized product! Also, good on you for inspiring Emma to go shooting when she got home! Staying tuned for the latest greatest developments of this on the horizon!
Excellent work, it gives the c5 a modern look. No more welding resistors ahahah. In the same vein, it would be great if one day these engineers could work on a solution for the EBCM 1997-2000. Cheers from France

Definitely interested in this. I have not wanted to cut/modify the console of my 50th anniversary model. I have found that most aftermarket radios look out of place in comparison to the old school HVAC controls sitting right below them. Having an entire replacement option where everything looks consistent, that is easy to pop into place, is reversible and also should go well with my shale interior is a perfect solution.
Yes, this is 100% why I think the cutting/chopping solution should be avoided. I'm ENTERTAINING two mounting choice options here...but...I'm not sure I can make that work financially.
It's odd about the negative comments on the c6.. Maybe c5 owners are younger and c6 owners are a lot older? I love the c6 unit and I would love to own one in the future but living in the UK bit expensive to ship to me.. Keep up the great work and hopefully business wise you keep going with the c6 side of things
@@KnightDriveTV the only problem for us UK people is tax.. The unit will cost min of $2500 which is way to much for anyone in the UK.. Of course the UK import duty is not your problem. When I'm in NY in Dec I might order a unit to my hotel and save on the import duty of 20% and then 10% on the final price including the shipping fee. Yep UK gets screwed

Are "new releases" still a thing with the limited print magazines sold? Motortrend, Hot Rod, Corvette Magazine, Vette Vues, etc.? How can we help with getting more C6 press (and C5 in the future) to buyers that dont sit on social media? Hope to bump into you and Lace at SEMA this year.
@KnightDriveTV Is there anyway you can put volume buttons on that left side of the panel? Cause the C5 don't have the steering wheel control and the volume buttons on the screen might be blocked a bit by the stick shift or gear shifter. Thanks in advanced! Great progress! ❤
Congrats on all of the success you've had with your business. I definitely plan on buying a set of your headlights when I buy another C5 soon. You have BY FAR the coolest design on the market. With that being said, I'm coming to you with this info because I think someone like you would be well suited to pick up where someone else left off on something great. There was a member on Corvette Forum that went by Full Beans Racing and even became a vendor for a brief period. He designed a really good looking set of infinity tail lights for the C6 Corvette. They are gaining popularity recently and utilize a regular mirror and a one way mirror along with an LED ring to create the illusion of an infinite row of lights within the lens. He manufactured quite a few sets and even had a set for the C5 in development, which he posted some pictures of, but due to a job switch and him moving he stopped making them. Someone really needs to pick up where he left off, because those tail lights look incredible and I would LOVE to have a set for the C5. I think you would do an amazing job if you gave it a shot.
So while I get what he's saying about the not trying to go for the OEM look on the C5 because of packaging reasons, I really think he's going to miss the boat ... maybe in the future someone will have a better idea. If It can be installed full recessed then I might get someone to modify and leather wrap the center console.
Its a prototype first. Second, you aren't going to see someone develop this any time soon, for a variety of reasons. As I state, if you want it fully recessed and are willing to cut/chop, then you can do that with my unit if you wanted to.

Emails are going out on the bezels...all the bezel stuff is in the next video. The C5 development has to continue, but I'll be updating on the first 30 beta tester opportunities, during the bezel update. It all ties together.

Will you open source the drivers so people like me who want to run a different or more up to date version of android can? Also will you open source the packages for ac control so I can integrate it into my flavor of android (lineage os) also, will you have a usb port for the system as well? This would be awesome for hooking my phone up as well as flashing it.
I know 99% of the aftermarket Android and Linux based head units fail miserably at one giant thing when it comes to the audio interface.... the audio. So you end up spending all this money, just for a screen, and then have to buy converters, DACs(yes, I know), DSPs, having to split signals, the Bluetooth is junk, the actual tuner is junk, ECT. It would be nice to at least have the bare minimum for those who actually enjoy audio and are wanting at least 6 channels of 4+v preamps, digital/optical output, good decoding of FLAC, ALAC, DSD, LDAC ECT, legitimate fading of the preamps, built-in phase adjustment, built-in time alignment, built-in assortment of highpasses, lowpasses, and bandpasses for each channel along with a competent 10 band parametric equalizer with gain and q-value, along with 4 channel hi level input for those still wanting to use their stock changers ... and of course, at least one USB-2.0(if not 3.0 or better) and a 3.5mm input for those with digital libraries. There's one "Android head unit" maker that does provide all this and more now , manufacturer's name is Joying, and their "top" units that list DSP have everything a simple to audiophile car guy would want in a replacement head unit.... including Qualcomm Snapdragon CPUs, good DACs, 48band equalizers, 4G LTE, GPS, and wireless Android Auto and the lesser Apple Carplay built-in....oh, and OBDII functionality. I'd highly recommend including this 👌🏻

As always love your work, keep going, but I am one of those c5 guys who wants a c6 like flush smooth design, redesigning the center console all the way. In fact my stock unit is broken anyway so what do i do... I will need to buy an aftermarket double din.... and im hoping this will still work with it.
This wont mount into a double din console configuration I dont believe. It may but we would have to test it. Design isn't finalized and we are still discussing things. C5 has complex challenges with multiple hvac systems and an odd console, so its tough. Cost of everything has skyrocketed...so cost to make this, mold it, ship it, assemble it, has also gone up. People are looking at the world through 2019 glasses, but we cant even get a new base model corvette for under 100k or a Z06 under 250k. Its tough to take this venture on.

I am shipping internationals direct from our chinese assembler so it will save you a lot.

The stock stuff is pretty light and simple so, not sure. If there is a difference, its minimal.
