If you did not (and you would know), don't be so proud because you could do better.
This actually makes me want to go back to China for that exam-oriented education. Cuz if you don't get it, it is only because of scores. And for American colleges, you throw everything you have, all of you into that admission, and then they will deny you as a whole. That hurts much worse.
Im in a state i hate my life rn too.. I missed my conditional offer to med school by 3 points. and got rejected to all the other med schools i applied to.. I know how it felt. you can see his soul crushing down inside.... I have to study for 2 months and retake my exams just for those 3 points.
Jeez I give you props on applying to all these schools. It must've taken you so long to finish applications. I'm thinking about applying to Dartmouth but the application process is what's making me rethink it. I can't even imagine what it would be like to go through that many Ivy League apps and then see them all just fail in front of your eyes

OMG, I know how you feel. I'm in undergrad now at like the least school on my list. I didn't even apply, my counselor applied for me, luckily I got a full ride to go there, so according to my parents, I had no choice but to come. Oh my, I HATE those we are so sorry emails, it's like adding salt to a deep deep deep cut, especially when you worked so hard and your friends that weren't as qualified as you got in better schools. I swear the whole admission thing is like playing the lottery. With all the rejection letters (internships, college admission, scholarships) I've gotten in my short life, despite perfect GPA and really good SATs, my biggest thing is to sit on the admission committee someday, I just wanna see for myself how hard it truly is to decide who to accept. Next step for me is medical school admission, although I have a full year to go, I'm already having anxiety. Mehn rejections make you feel so worthless, but in the end, life continues right, you just gotta keep doing until you make it someday.

I can feel his pain, but the thing about all these denials is that they're from highly competitive schools and Ivy's. If he'd applied to a couple targets and some safety schools, he would've at least gotten a couple acceptances.

I give you credit for taking the chance and even applying to those schools. My only real reaches are Darthmouth College and Wellesley College unless you want to count BC & Northeastern here in MA as reach schools. I kind of gave up on these big name Ivy-league schools because I knew I probably stood zero chance anyways. I was going to apply to Brown and then just decided against it. Honestly my number 1 and my dream school is Emerson College in Boston and while I will probably get in with flying colors (It's not like super hard to get into or anything), I'm just praying for financial aid. Applying to all reaches is def not smart lol. The mistake in this is that you believe that applying to 20 reaches will increase your chances of getting into one of them. It will not. I have a 35 ACT, 4.0UW/4.36W and I applied to 4 reaches and 1 ivy: Amherst, Dartmouth, Pomona, Williams. Since I'm Asian, (a lot of affirmative action against me) I applied to like 12 matches that I would love to go to if I don't get into any reach colleges. And also, once the quantity of reaches goes up, doesn't the quality of your essays go down?.... With a perfect score, you definitely would have gotten into a top liberal arts college or even Georgetown/USC/Notredame.......if you had applied to those matches.
