I almost cried bc I imagined my future self crying from getting rejected by Stanford. Edit/Update: So it's August 28th, 2019, and I posted this back in 7th or 8th grade. I'm now in junior year of high school and I'm doing alright, I think lol. Taking the SAT next month for the first time and I'm scared because I actually have to grow up now. So much time passed. Stanford is still my dream school, but over time I realized that I'd still have student loans even if I got in in the first place lol. So I probably wouldn't be able to go, anyways. I'll update next year (senior year, 2021) which colleges I get into lol (if anyone still reads this comment). Edit #2: March 31, 2020! Idk why this comment is still alive lol. So it's been a small while and yes I'm still in love with Stanford, but my ideas on college have changed. I actually have a college in my state I'd really like to go to now because it is great for what I want to major in (computer science) and they give lots of scholarships (the school is UCF). Plus my state has a scholarship called Bright Futures (the top award takes 100% off tuition price to any college in the state), so I'm currently trying to work towards that and it's unlikely that I'll go to a school out of state now since the scholarship takes off so much money (Stanford is out of state). My goal now is to pay the least amount of money to go to college. Getting Bright Futures and a good scholarship from UCF would be amazing and now I'm aiming for UCF. I can get in with the stats I have now, but I want to get to scholarship status and possibly the honors college lol. Also anyone who's reading this through the coronavirus craziness, please stay safe! I'm a bit worried because this summer I planned to volunteer and maybe get a job so I could add a bit more to my college applications but I don't think that's possible now due to the virus. Be careful everyone and stay home! I'll be back to update (again) during senior year lol. Edit #3: January 10th, 2021 :)) Sooo.... guess what? I GOT IN TO UCF!! I know it's not Stanford, but to me, I'm so happy to have gotten in! It was my top choice and I chose UCF out of all my in-state schools because there's this scholarship that only applies if you attend a school in Florida. So yeah, that's why I didnt aim for what would be "better" schools out of state. Did I apply to Stanford? No, because honestly, I didnt want to spend money on the application fee when I most likely wouldnt be going there because of the cost and very low chances of me getting in. But that's okay! My story may be a little underwhelming because I didnt get into some top prestigious university, but I dont care. I'm so happy to have still gotten into a great university that I will be attending this fall, and now I'm just going to be focused on getting scholarships. I didn't know so many people would be this invested lol, and this may be my last update. This comment feels like a really cool time capsule haha. Anyways, bye bye and thank you for following along
These are the kind of girls that deserve to get into Harvard because she was surprised and shocked and emotional and grateful. A lot of girls who get in think they were entitled to get into the school and it doesn't really phase them.
what do you even mean "deserve" nobody deserves to get into an ivy, you earn it or you don't. Some people aren't emotional about it because they know they worked for it and will be accepted and aren't that surprised, doesn't mean that they "deserve" it less
When she said "Dad I got into Harvard", that just made me cry too coz I always dream of the day when I would say that too my dad too. I've never really did anything in my life that did my parents proud and I right now I'm gonna work so hard to get into Harvard (First in my family :D), I'll be crying just like that and my dad would be on the other line running around his office screaming my son got into Harvard :) Good Luck to all other kids aspiring to go to Harvard and God Bless you Aubrey!!
SinisterMinister not right ,harvard is a very rich university so if the accpted student couldn't afford it ,he still able to attend it with a full scholarship just imagin the fact that between every 5 students who got accepted to harvard litreally there are 1 student who attend it free !!!

EKKKKK MY FAVE UA-camR!!!! HIII SIENNA!!!😊 I absolutely love your vids 🥰.... I also am hoping be accepted into Harvard lol.... im only in 8th grade rn.... but I hope I will be able to hit the pot..... hopefully🥺🤧🤞🤞💓
For the haters- Try staying up every single night studying taking the SATS going all through this stress and than finally realizing once you Open up that letter of your dream college that it was all worth it. And opening that letter was probably one of the hardest things cause she had no idea what it said . I am so happy your hard work paid off! Congratulations again and good luck in the future !
Trying doing that and getting rejected at the same time. Too commonplace these days. I know people who have jumped through hoops of fire for their dreams and they still got rejected. Not everyone gets a happy ending.
5.6% Acceptance rate, and she got in. Knowing her life is made, and that she will probably get whatever job she wishes to have? Yes, I think the tears are completely called for.
I'm crying so much! I'm 12 and Harvard is my dream. It has been my dream ever since I saw legally blonde😂 I have been taking summer classes and even high school classes to get ahead. I got straight as all quarter and I'm really working for it. I wish I could be like you one day. 2019 UPDATE: hi so there is no way I'm getting into Harvard but my old comment is so cute. I've found a passion for theatre and I am currently working towards the goal of being an actress:)
Kelly Theatre hey I just saw legally blonde. I know I'm late but whatever. I have been dreaming to go to Harvard since 9, and it means a lot to me! I wish you get accepted when you apply in the future! 💗
you don't need to go to harvard to 'succeed' or to be happy. But if you really want to do it, your grades don't really matter ATM. Especially last 2 years matter
Good for her, and grats to her mom as well for raising such a wonderful daughter. A good momma makes a BIG difference. My parents never once talked to me about college. They never cared what grades I got and hated having to do anything school related like parent-teacher conferences and back-to-school night. Because of this I grew up hating school and the only thing I planned for was graduation. I never thought or planned past graduation. Anyways, A decade later I am finally getting my degree. Finally.
Forev Competitor Yeah, she wouldn't go out with a perverted and sexist individual like you. I bet that you thought she was weird. I'm kinda like her (I'm a guy and no I'm not homosexual) except I only cry when I get severely bad grades and my jock friends always find me weird.
A VERY BIG (ALTHOUGH BELATED) CONGRATULATIONS!!!! This was a truly very touching video. I cried and smiled omg it was lovely!!! Thank-you for making this video! It not only shares ones endearing journey to achieve ones goals but also motivates many viewers like me! So thank-you and have a wonderful and joyful future! :)
So great to watch this. I just got accepted into Fieldston. This is exactly how I felt, waiting and waiting for the letter. I almost cryed when I got accepted.
Sorry some people had to have such a crappy attitude. This is such an awesome moment and really inspiring. I hope to get into Harvard and if I do, I'll probably be just as much in shock. This actually made me cry. Just thinking about all the hard work and studying that was put into it.
This is one of the most inspirational videos I've seen and it makes me want to do well in school and life. Congrats to this girl as she is going very far in life.
This was my reaction getting into the performing arts school of my dreams :) nothing beats that moment when you realise that all the work you'd put into getting in, all the long hours, the pressure etc etc was all worth it, because from this point onwards your life is going to change for the better
Congrats!!! Her reaction totally made me cry because I am in the same situation right now! Got accepted to my dream university 2 days ago and I bawled my eyes out too! Congrats again!!!
not gonna lie, i was so close to tears watching this. i recently applied to the university of arkansas, which is my dream school. while watching this, i imagined me getting accepted into arkansas
Safiyyah K thank you! i did get accepted! that's the school i will be attending next year! woo pig sooie :). i get extremely emotional thinking about being at my dream school next year
Wow if I was her parents I'd be so proud and start bawling my eyes out too Like imagine seeing her through life and listening to her dreams, and finally see them a reality and see her crying, I would've be able to handle myself I wanna go to college too lol I can't wait I wanna learn stuff
Well... You are looking forward to college, yet you want to cry for the success of your kid. Isn't it better to first persue your dream before wanting to have kids, and encouring them on their dreams? Best of luck, either way!
I think what's most beautiful from this video is how much love shines through. You can tell your kids are who they are thanks to your love, and as a mommy to a now 3 year old it makes me SO emotional. I only wish to be as present and giving as you seem to be of a mother. Congratulations! Your daughter is beautiful, Sabrina. Just like you.
Great video- I just found out a lot of my students just got in Early to their top choices like Penn and Princeton. Keep studying, be nice to your teachers for great recs, write killer honest essays, and you really do have a shot at Harvard, Yale, Penn, Stanford, or whatever is your top choice :) Just don't let the process get you down and keep at it :)
This is my favorite reaction video ever. Whenever I need any motivation for studying, I come back here. Also, Congratulations! Because you're graduating in a year!
I'm 13 years old now, and I'm getting motivated because of her. I'm also dreaming that I would be accepted in Harvard University. I'm so happy for her!!
This video made me cry :) As a senior applying to my dream schools after literally killing myself in APs all four years, I needed this video to remind me WHY I'm doing this to myself. This moment. Congratulations
I wish kids in poverty had more of an opportunity like this, it goes to waste when a parent doesn't have a high education background or was born into poverty themselves(I'm not speaking for all kids in poverty). I'm pretty sure Aubrey's parents was strict on her when it came to education and it all played out well in the end. Congrats even though this is two years later.
+Gizelle Blanc I am a son of parents with a first grade education, I grew up in South Central Los Angeles which is synonymous with gang violence and drugs. My parents were not "strict" on me but did place a high value on education. I currently have a 3.97 GPA in graduate school. My point is that education can transform ANYONE'S life, even if their parents are poor and uneducated.
***** Some kids don't even have a person to encourage them. My parents also wasn't strict on me and education wasn't a value in my household. So should Harvard hold you back because you wasn't taught?
My parents aren't educated either. My mum only went to school (in India) for 3 years and then she had to leave to help out at home. My dad moved to England when he was 4/5 and went to school until he was 14. He didn't even do his gcses because he had to start working to help my grandad. However, I think that education is super important. People laugh at me when I study and say that's all I ever do (it's not, but I do study more than the average person.) I have to work very hard because I haven't inherited fab genes (whereby I can do a test and get an A with minimal revision.) I've found that when you're in an environment with amazing teachers, you're more likely to reach your potential and do well. It doesn't matter whether you go to a state school or a private school... If you have a good teacher (and work hard yourself) you'll do better. Granted, there are (probably) more amazing teachers at a private school; which is unfair, but it just means that I need to work more effectively
+Gizelle Blanc ....I was born into poverty. I wish I knew schools like Harvard and Stanford existed while still in middle school so I could've prepared for high school or at least applied.
OMG! I'm so happy for you. That made me cry because it was so beautiful, seeing somebody work hard to achieve what they wanted and they succeed. Success is a beautiful thing. ❤️
When i got accepted it didnt hit me until a few months later. I was so calm about it when i got accepted that i actually lost two friends who were rejected because they said i was "cocky". It was really funny, it was the middle of the night and I couldnt sleep for what ever reason and suddenly i started thinking about my life and my dreams. Its always been my dream to go to this school you know? And it just hit me then and I started crying like it was stupid. You go through so many emotions in so little time after you get accepted its crazy.
Hey Sabrina, just letting you know, don't know if you know this already or not, but the footage of Aubrey at her graduation accepting her diploma is in that new trailer for the horror movie 'Unfriended'. Check it out.
+Nessa X Why would parents do that? I am a parent of 3 kids and I wouldn't want my child's important moment used as footage in a trash movie. So weird.
I literally started crying when I was watching this video. I set the goal of going to Harvard since I was 10, now I'm about to be a freshman. I'm really nervous about entering high school because everything will go in my GPA from now on. Harvard is such an competitive school, it is one of the best universities in the world! This video really inspired me, it's telling me that if I work as hard as Aubrey, I would have a possible chance of getting in! Thank you for sharing this video, it always reminds me of how much I should work in order to achieve my goal. Thanks:)
+Ink Memory If you put in the time anything is possible, but make sure it is not just grades you worry about in HS, extracurriculars and just growing as a person are important too. I am about to graduate HS with a 4.0 and great standardized testing scores, but I know that multiple times in high school I worried just about grades and did not put all the effort in I could have.
I'm so happy for you. From what it seems, you worked so hard to get into that school. This is so awesome to see because people don't really appreciate getting into an AMAZING college anymore.
She even cries like an intelligent girl.
isabelle belle With no tears. Intelligent ppl shed no tears.

hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Aubrey Stoddard what was your major and are you going for a masters or what? tell us tell us !! lol
"And they don't say congratulations when you don't get in, so I'm in"
So true. When I got accepted to medical school, all I read was, "It is a pleasure," before losing it.

Well... You are looking forward to college, yet you want to cry for the success of your kid. Isn't it better to first persue your dream before wanting to have kids, and encouring them on their dreams?
Best of luck, either way!
Whoops edit time: change would've to wouldn't
And first step towards college completed: I got accepted lol
Migster
Congratulations, sir.
Ah thank you, I am a ma'am tho :)
Migster Sorry baby, joking.
oh my god this made me cry. your parents were so proud of you and i loved hearing your dad scream "yeah" over the phone lol
Can we get an update now that it has been 4 years?!!! :D
Just like you.
this makes me feel guilty for my grades.
I just wonder how ppl get such good grades wow
@@preciousmatlapeng9497 they study and don't procrastinate
Congratulations
for some reason i was crying through this entire video
I’m so proud of her! She’s so beautiful and probably worked very hard ❤️
i saw this in my recommended and i don't regret watching... this made my heart so happy!
this video made me cry. lmao
+Gizelle Blanc
I am a son of parents with a first grade education, I grew up in South Central Los Angeles which is synonymous with gang violence and drugs.
People laugh at me when I study and say that's all I ever do (it's not, but I do study more than the average person.) I have to work very hard because I haven't inherited fab genes (whereby I can do a test and get an A with minimal revision.)
I've found that when you're in an environment with amazing teachers, you're more likely to reach your potential and do well. It doesn't matter whether you go to a state school or a private school... If you have a good teacher (and work hard yourself) you'll do better. Granted, there are (probably) more amazing teachers at a private school; which is unfair, but it just means that I need to work more effectively
I studying more and better than I ever did in my life and hard work really does pay off.
Teared up a bit. Great job Aubrey. May you sail through college smoothly.
I am crying watching this because I am going through this process and it's painful.
Did you get in???
Congratulations on performing well in your academics but we regret to inform you that...
oh thats the rejection? :p
Omg could you imagine
When i got accepted it didnt hit me until a few months later. I was so calm about it when i got accepted that i actually lost two friends who were rejected because they said i was "cocky". It was really funny, it was the middle of the night and I couldnt sleep for what ever reason and suddenly i started thinking about my life and my dreams. Its always been my dream to go to this school you know? And it just hit me then and I started crying like it was stupid. You go through so many emotions in so little time after you get accepted its crazy.
this is so amazing! i'm actually crying while watching this! congrats girl!
I cried watching this! ❤ I really wanna attend UCLA and i'm just thinking I have to wait 4 months....pray for me!
Hey Sabrina, just letting you know, don't know if you know this already or not, but the footage of Aubrey at her graduation accepting her diploma is in that new trailer for the horror movie 'Unfriended'. Check it out.
that's so weird!!
omg she actually is
They sold the rights for it to be used. Aubrey said it on her Twitter :)
+Nessa X Why would parents do that? I am a parent of 3 kids and I wouldn't want my child's important moment used as footage in a trash movie. So weird.
+Janie Hannah Wow its actually is.. Isn't that like a copy right fragment?
this has me in tears. dreams do come true if you work hard for them and never lose sight of what you want. congrats Aubrey
I CRIED SO MUCH THIS MADE ME SO HAPPY!!! EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO ACCOMPLISH THEIR GOALS
Why am I crying??!
Haha I cried watching this, congratulations !!!!
Same! I would be so excited!
Ikr me too
It's 2017! Wishing you the best Aubrey!
Oh I know this feeling so well, even watching it made me cry!!
I started crying so hard because this is my dream too.
I started bawling, too :,)
I feel so good when I watch these videos it really gives me hope.
+Zack Martin that's a great advise, thanks:) by the way I'm sure you are going to do great with that perfect GPA and amazing grades!!!
I cried like a baby watching this 😭 So happy for you!
I'm so happy for you. From what it seems, you worked so hard to get into that school. This is so awesome to see because people don't really appreciate getting into an AMAZING college anymore.
