Maddie Tannie There are a lot of amazing schools in NYC that offer great out of state tuition (a lot of them are free, just boarding.) Business is huge in SUNY and CUNY. Colleges like Baruch offer an amazing business course, and have an extremely high acceptance rate. Look into it and good luck :)
I work in an admissions office at a small liberal arts school and not all admissions offices work like that. Don't stress about it, college shouldn't be scary. It's an exciting new adventure. Carpe Diem
I was accepted into an ivy league school. I celebrated like crazy. After one year, I was $50,000 in debt and had to drop out to focus on paying it off. The college systems are so screwed up and money hungry. This needs to end.
I can't think of any Ivy League institution that doesn't offer to meet all your demonstrated financial need if they accept you. Unless you're parents are making more than 250k+ a year, you shouldn't be paying 50k per year at an Ivy.
@@HughJazz13 Those from families with a lot of money, or median income of 100k-150k, etc dont get as much help. People are missing the point of this video. It isn't really about race, but poverty. All the wealthy kids of color in my high school got into big prestigious universities. Most of the other kids of color didn't go to college or went to community college. Most of them were poor. Im Hispanic and grew up from a poor immigrant family and i was one of the 10 kids of color from my high school class that went straight into a university. That is 10 out of about 250 kids of color, excluding the wealthy ones. This happens, because most of the people of color dont come from wealthy families, so people assume its about race when its actually about income.
I was valedictorian when I graduated, but because of racial tensions between me and the administrator in charge I didn't speak at graduation. I was also offered admissions to an Ivy League, but refused in exchange for taking care of my elderly mom and went to community college. Overall where you go affects you but it doesn't have to break you. "Its not about where you go but what you do when you get there." Regardless- systemic discrimination is absolutely rampant in the U.S. Its awful.
wtf how was your mom elderly when you were in high school. That means she would've been like 55-60 at least when she gave birth to you. How is that even possible...
@@SwagDawg Um, no. Elderly is a huge category. She might have been ailing. Maybe she got dementia, or alzheimers. Maybe she got injured. It might not seem old but people even in their late fifties to sixties can sometimes need extra care
To a degree I do think it is a cycle that is hard to break- wealth breeds wealth, poverty breeds poverty. It's hard to break these cycles sometimes. If your parents earned masters degrees and went to an Ivy league school chances are you will follow suit because of having the advantaged to afford good education, your parents will probably lay the ground work for wanting you to succeed, pay for SAT prep and things of that nature as mentioned. When you grow up in poverty your priorities may be different from a very young age. Its sad.
+RobinOrzo Every family had a generation that was self-made at some point. The generations that followed took advantage of that generation's legacy by continuing it. A bunch of black entertainers today are self-made and grew up in poverty. Now their next-generations will have a huge advantage over the others. So if a family is living in poverty, the younger generation has to take the initiative to succeed without family financial support.
on the flip side Asians are systematically disadvantaged cause they compete with other Asians instead of the general pool.. we're all American kids, we should ask compete as American kids. I agree with affirmative action for reasons you've mentioned but it should be spread out instead of singling one race out
+BRBallin1 it's absolutely not impossible just harder. I personally grew up in poverty and my priorities in high school were different then a lot of my friends. They didn't have to worry about getting a job to not only pay small things like their cell phone bill, but to help support their household. I didn't grow up with discipline on my education, or a push to go to college like others may have gotten. Those are some of the realities of growing up poor. I did still go to college, it was just a totally different struggle then many my age. It isn't impossible, it just makes it a lot harder.
RobinOrzo Totally agree. Also the older generations who ended up being self made have a huge advantage over current generations where their expenses weren't nearly as high as ours are. They didn't have to pay for a lot of things that we pay for because they didn't have them back then.
Cons about community college: (1) Inconsistent curriculum (2) Lack of familiarity with the university you transfer to during your 3rd year. (3) Will lose 2 years of time that could've helped you build friendships at university. (4) Cannot do most of your major's coursework until you transfer, so you're stuck with a bunch of math and GE classes for the first 2 years rather than building your knowledge to succeed in your field. It's a great option for summer classes, but a lackluster college experience for the first 2 years. You will save a lot of money and also have a higher chance at going to your first choice since the GPA standards for transfer students is lower than HS students.
It also depends on your extracurricular activities, SAT/ACT scores, background/family/income, teacher's recommendations, and essays. I know a friend who had a perfect GPA and ACT/SAT scores, but he didn't get into the Ivy Leagues cause he wasn't really active/social.
I wonder the same for myself.. Only 3 people from my class were allowed into the game art course, and 4 applied. Three guys and me, the only girl. Their grades were 7, 8, 9 and I got an 8 as well. The guy with a 9 DID NOT make it into the art class but I did. Gender also plays a huge role. We graduated as a group of 27 guys and 3 girls.
I will tell you how it is done in EU. You wanna go to university... you list for exam, you take the exam and X amount of people are passed in. Depending on the course it will be 90-120 people. Now there is no interview process, no racial profiling, no photo. Just the exam, if you do good one exam you have a fair shot of getting in.
+the Void That's false My husband is French and he said the exact opposite. It's funny how the EU claim not to have racial tendencies but when I go to France I see so much discrimination towards Arabs, muslims, and black people so please get over yourself this is not an American problem but a world problem
Besides colleges and universities, there is only one other industry I can think of that turns away a significant percentage of their potential paying customers. This is night clubs, and it is for the same reason. In both cases, they feel that the experience at a university, or at a night club, depends on what other people you are going interact with while attending, so they only want to admit the right people.
well to be honest if in America you need a private tutor to get a good score on SATs (which I'm assuming are very important but I don't know) then teachers clearly aren't doing a good job.
Nah you don't need a tutor. But you need to be very self motivated to study for the SAT's by yourself if you don't have a tutor. I know loads of people that've done well though, without any outside help
You don't need a tutor, you just need to be extremely self-motivated. I'm not American, but there's no need to blame everything on America. SATs are one of the most important exams for college.
Anusha Riaz I'm not blaming America but this video said that poor people don't do well on their SATs cause they cant get tutors so I'm simply saying that if you need a tutor to do well on your exams then teachers aren't teaching well enough. I'm not American either, I'm British so I'm assuming SATs are GCSEs or A-levels/BTECs. But loads of people here get the grades they need and you only get a tutor if you're getting really bad.
It's depressing to think of how much I've spent so far in college applications, exams and sending scores... it's even more depressing to think about how much I'll spend prior to the loan, paperwork and living expenses.... man, and that's all prior to the huge loan I'll be paying off for probably my entire life. One would think that after all of this bs, I'd get a decent job but these days they ask you for either lots of years of experience (oh the irony) or "at least" a Master's degree.
It doesn't have to be that way. In my class, most students do not take loans at all because internships pay enough to cover everything, and I along with most people I know will be graduating with multiple full-time job offers to choose from. Stay positive :)
YES! Agree. I know it is hard these days but internship is the way to go. keep trying to find as much as u can. Remember the world owns you nothing. Keep trying and accept any opportunities that come your way because u never where it might take you
You still have a chance given the right variables and some luck. I'm Asian and graduated from a high school with about 30% Asians and got into an Ivy League school (I did take a non traditional route to college though and grew up going up schools from both the inner city and the suburbs so who knows what was important).

Picking students based on financial income and your parent's education isn't going to help predict how successful they will be in a class. I'm so glad change is being made now.
We all can die at any moment...Death doesn't care if you went to an Ivy League school...Just attend a school that isn't full of sneaky, stuck up prudes and an atmosphere that isn't miserable and stressful. If you're going to complain about Ivy League school, then don't go. Live life and be happy.
I agree with you, but I think it's unfair to just lump high ranked schools in this group. The way my cousins describe UPenn, I honestly don't think it's miserable or stressful. You'll definitely have people like that (sneaky; stuck up), but the majority seem to be nice people, like the woman in this video, for example.
+I Chanksplooned Ur Mum No it wouldn't. Neither of my parents are college graduates and none of my family is either. I really hope that even with all that that I can get into SCAD :I
It's the same story in the UK. Different universities have different standards, and Russell group unis (similar to Ivy League) can be pretty ridiculous since you're also buying the right to have their name on your CV. But Cambridge and Oxford? Forget about it. The process is so intense -- involving top grades, essays, their own exams, interviews, and the little detail that you can only apply for Cambridge OR Oxford -- even world-renown humanitarian activist and Nobel Peace prize winner Malala Yousafzai wouldn't have gotten into Oxford by name recognition alone. She suffered through the admissions process like everyone else, and was lucky enough to succeed.
+Stupid Elephant I wouldn't say that it's a waste of her education at all... she was predicted to be a high impact writer and she's doing exactly that. :) and in truth, where you go to college doesn't determine your success, it's rather what you do during college that will impact you most. so even if you were to graduate a non-Ivy school, but were proactive and productive, you can make something of yourself.
Ivies *Pros:* The obvious - good financial aid and support. Ivies want/need you to graduate. If you have high academic goals, these are the best schools to reach them. Better than most state/other schools by far with faculty and resources. *Cons:* A lot of students seem miserable and depressed. These problems are likely worse for poor and minority students. It's not as though those traits disappear on campuses. Note - There are basically two strategies for approaching Ivies. One involves networking with the right peers for career/business insight and opportunities. Your ability to do this is largely predetermined by socioeconomic status. The other involves excelling academically above all else - getting to know the right professors and making the right grades. It's probably best to avoid Ivies if you "just want a job somewhere" that isn't Wall Street, consulting, or academia. N.B. - College is awkwardly placed on the edge of adulthood. If you're behind on the maturation curve, spend a lot of time observing before you engage in certain activities. You may have regrettable experiences if you go too far too fast. College will have a huge impact on the rest of your life. It will change you. Proceed with caution.
+Alexander (xSPARTAMAN80x) well it's more like "damn why are y'all so pasty and uncultured" Some girl asked me whether I was Chinese or Asian and I smacked the culture out of her
+Dorfdude8 CSU's and UC's are just as good as Ivy Leagues honestly. I currently attend a CSU and love it. But then it all depends on your major and stuff. Good luck!
Can everybody accept the fact that this is an Ivy League school she's talking about? If you wanted to go to a regular public university, they are much less picky.
+DizzyGEICO what if you want the best of the best? it's not normal to be this "picky" (ie, discriminatory). instead of students changing their standards, schools need to change theirs.
+MistahF for and undergrad degree in anything worth having ie STEM. all you need is an accredited program because accredited programs are all required to teach the same stuff. The real world doesn't care where you went because after your first job they just look at your work. You've just been brainwashed to think that there actually is a best of the best by the very people who are lining up to take your money. These schools get to be picky because there are so many sheep lining up to go there. Those schools are desirable because of their reputation, and their reputation was built on the quality of their students, so it is in their best interest to choose students who will succeed. Study after study has shown that income and parental involvement determine (more than any other factor) the success of a student. Don't hate the player, you can hate the game, but it benefits you more to play it than complain about it. #truthsux
So you're basically saying it's ok to take a white person coming from a wealthy family and let them into Yale every single year. It's not fair to the minorities who have worked off their butt trying to get where some of the successful ones are. Minorities shouldn't have to settle for less
Johana Camarena I don't think you even know how college admission works. Ivy colleges do prefer rich and smart people because of the image that it creates. This has nothing to do with race. A rich African American female with the same grade would have easily taken her spot at Yale.
Quality education is a right, not a luxury, and should not be treated or priced as one. There are so many changes we need to make in the education system, starting with elementary and public education, to award students the same opportunities, regardless of their identity or background.
Pro tip: don't waste your money on an expensive school. Go to a community college for your two year degree, then go to a FAIRLY priced university for your bachelor's.
I would say it depends on income. If you're low income and you get into a top tier school, it could very well be cheaper to actually attend the 4 year university than the community college. Obviously it doesn't apply for those that aren't low income but can't afford college either, or are not getting to top tier schools, but I just wanted to put that out there.
Samaa Mohamed Ali Yeah it's really different between people to people. But it would be nice to know the general trend of exams and what the examiner wants to see.
Samaa Mohamed Ali You have a really good point tbh. Living in my circle (the asian circle), your hard working ness is measured by how many hours of extra tutoring you do. However I know a lot of people who doesn't do any tutoring and still get good marks and still work very hard.
Wow, I love her. She deserves to be where she is. She’s a very smart and articulate woman who also sees where she stands in comparison to other people instead of ignoring it. Great young lady.
oh my...... this is extremely heartbreaking to think of...? all the poor kids who are more than intelligent and able to enter but cant bc theyre lacking on these dynamic extracurriculars and SATs and all that... :((((
I really like this girl. She seems like a well rounded, humble, educated, sweet girl. Who doesn't judge people based on their background. She's even trying to help these kids who aren't privileged but very hard working. ABSOLUTELY love her ideas and especially her! We need more people like her !!
This both: -Relaxed me because what goes on in the admissions office is way out of my control so I should give up stressing about it -Gave me more anxiety because I JUST WANT MY DECISIONS AND LORD LET FAFSA BE KIND Love your videos BuzzFeed ❤️
They are only talking about prestigious colleges. Most students who did well in high school can get into a college, but it's usually a state sponsored one.
+Mylou Joores Well this might be true for some european countries like Germany where there aren't huge tuition fees, but when you look at England for example, going to University is still pretty fucking expensive and even with student loans or scholarships a lot of students can't afford it... (of course it isn't as severe as in the US but still...) And when you take a look at France the highschool (collège) you went to pretty much determines to which University you will be allowed to go, so it is very hard to get to the top schools (for example the École Nationale d’Administration) when you live in certain areas. Just wanted to put that out there 😌
It amazes me how she seems so shocked by all of this. Like, all this information has been a secret all this time and she's the first person who's stepping out and tell the truth. We've known it this whole time, it's nothing new.
College is what you make of it. Ivy leagues are great, yeah, but if you don't get into THAT state or private school, there are plenty of other good schools with GREAT programs that might accept you even if you aren't deemed the "perfect" applicant
Im a senior waiting for my admission decisions, but I'm really glad I saw this. The entire time i've been applying, I was told all those things to get in, but I have sooo many friends that I KNOW would do just fine in those higher-ups but arent even gonna be given a second look. She sums it up just fine when she says it bull.
I doubt I can get into a college. They probably don't want book worm who also wants to be a dancer, scientist, and author and loves tossing (more like viciously shoving) irresponsible people under the bus.
I don't think it's possible to get rejected from a community college. If you are struggling, maybe you can go there for a little bit and then transfer. But by what you stated as your interests, I'm sure you can get into a university you want.
+Katie Hastings Well a person i ran with on track and cross country applied to Harvord and Yale. He was rejected. He was black, an amazing runner and always qualified for sectionals, His band got invited to play at disney in California. He participated in National Honor Society (he was the president), Student Newspaper (As the co-editor in chief), was on the varsity speech team, was a Public Relations and Community Outreach officer, ran Track/Cross Country (3 miles in 15 mins). He graduated with the Summa Cum Laude, he was an AP Scholar with Distinction, earned the National Merit Scholar, and was a Ron Brown Scholar. He had a 4.6 gpa. Tell me what hes missing to be able to qualify for Yale and harvord. White skin and alot of money? Anyway, he got into stanford on a full scholarship for free.
미셜비 When you take honor classes or AP classes, sometimes they are weighted. Which means an A in an AP class or an honors class will equal a 5. B=4 C=3 D=1 F=0. Thats the scale my school uses. He took alot of AP classes and got lots of A's which means he got lots of 5's so his gpa was more closer to a 5.
Katie Hastings Actually, I read somewhere that Affirmative Action only worked effectively in the favour of white women like Molly, and not so much applicants of colour.
I never cared about which college I went to but my high school counselors were all into getting us into 4-year universities. I got accepted to a few even though I BS'd the applications - I knew I couldn't afford them anyway since I'm an AB540 student and my counselors never talked about community college as an option. I realized later they forced me to apply to these 4 year universities because it'd look good on their list of achievements... they didn't care and I knew they didn't but they put so much stress on me instead of letting me just apply to community college. To this day I still hate that I went there.
Literally all we have to admit here in Scandinavia is our grades and any relevant work experience. That's it. I'm so happy I didn't have to apply in the US
Applying to universities is so stressful... that's why I went to a community college first then transferred! Best decision ever - money wise & education wise
In the U.S., community colleges are like a second high school - it's a 2 year plan w/ an associates degree. It's a cheaper tuition! Everyone can apply and get accepted. Universities are a 4 year plan w/ a bachelor's degree, and have grad school (masters) etc. They can be very expensive. Also, you have the option of transferring from a community college to a university. :)
in my opinion, it won't even matter where you go to school. I'll be ready to start next spring at a university after two years of community college but what I've learned is that you don't get the career of your choice right off the bat anyway. You have to work your way up to it even after all the hard work you put into it in school, because now everyone wants at least two years of experience. This just opens my eyes even more and this is why I never cared much for attending a prestigious school like Yale, my masters degree won't mean any less than one from Yale.
In finland we have an amazing school system. firstly, it's completely free, from first grade to the end of college. the only thing that affects on which school you go, is how smart you are.
In Australia our ability to attend university is pretty much solely based off of our school grades in combination with the results we receive from our HSC Exams. I remember one of my teachers bringing in an SAT exam for us to have a look at and to be honest it looked so much easier than what we have to do. Basically with the SAT you guys have one test thats between 3hrs-3hrs 45mins and is broken up into three sections; math, reading and writing. In Australia we have an exam for every single subject we take so usually its between 5-8 exams that are between 2-4 hrs each including two english exam papers- one thats about 2hrs 10 mins and the other thats about 2hrs 5 mins. We have a system here called ATAR- a marking system that combines your school ranking against every other school in the state, your rank amongst your peers, your school assessment results and your HSC exam results. The highest ATAR you can obtain is 99.95 (idk why it isn't 100) and the marks are based in increments of 0.5. In order to attend our equivalent of an ivy league school you need to obtain an almost perfect score especially if you want to study law or medicine where in order to do either one particular university here requires you to obtain that perfect score. It is almost harder to study law here than it is to study medicine.
In Australia getting into university (college) is so easy. You get a score from how well you did you subjects in senior year. You fill out a form with 6 courses you want to do and then a couple months later they tell you what course you got into. We don't have to get student loans because we have HECS which is basically a loan but they automatically take it out of your pay if you are earning a certain amount of money each year. You can pay it over as long as you want and you're not forced to have a job to pay your student loans during your time studying at UNI.
I wanted to address at the end what she stated about being poor and getting into college, really quickly. Taking AP Classes is a very good plan to educate yourself and get college credits and even if your school doesnt offer that many take them. Scoring decent (or even high for that matter) on the SAT doesnt require an expensive tutor there are plenty of free online resources and study guides that I used and they are very helpful. And having dynamic extracurriculars is definitely a huge plus and honestly it isnt that hard to be involved while having a steady job (i did) but even if you cant maintain extracurriculars and a steady job, colleges love seeing work experience and "real life" experience (it shows that youre well rounded) be sure to work that in (essay, resumé if the have one) and dont worry youre gonna be great!
Can we just talk about the fact that in my part of the UK, I will get off Scot free (pardon the pun) after uni/college, and people from the other 92% of the UK will be left with student loans of up to £63,000? Not fair.
+Connor Doogan It's fair to us in Scotland because there's laws about it that our MSP's voted in. It's nothing to do with Scotland what the other countries in the union choose to do with their education systems because they have their own parliaments to do that, and it would apparently be in public interest for them to not vote those rights in if they haven't been done or aren't a priority. (personally I believe education should be free for everybody in the world and would be beneficial to everybody) but even in Scotland student loans are available. I believe you meant fees, as anybody can get a student loan.
I love that poor kids are finally getting a chance to go to amazing collages. My dad was from a low income family but he was really smart and ended up going to Northwestern and then Stanford for business school. Now he's a CEO which is pretty cool. It's amazing what having a shot at a great education can do for someone.

+Diana kinda
+Diana Yes, but thats another conversation. The schools themselves dont discriminate racially, they do it by financial class.
agree, but the income problems root from racial ones. ppl of colour generally have less opportunities and this leads to the low-income (not all ofc)
+Callie Naiden yeah i agree my point is that you shouldn't blame the unis, they dont care. The problem is other institutions

Overall where you go affects you but it doesn't have to break you. "Its not about where you go but what you do when you get there." Regardless- systemic discrimination is absolutely rampant in the U.S. Its awful.
It's not the school that makes you. It's you.
Not at all. There are several routes to the same destination. wish I'd known that in highschool...
wtf how was your mom elderly when you were in high school.
Yeah it's hard to break. But that doesn't mean we shouldn't try. We NEED to try or our country will just spiral further and further away.
Community college it is!
SAME
I'll see y'all there
Same and I have to test for it next Saturday 🙃
You save more!!! I have like 10 or 9 classes to go! Then maybe transfer to a university.
Cons about community college:
(1) Inconsistent curriculum
(2) Lack of familiarity with the university you transfer to during your 3rd year.
I am in college and I thought that I was going to get a girlfriend and many friends, but no, no one wants to hang out with the heroin addict.
Yeah, no one does

I wonder why I was accepted to some schools and kids that were way smarter than me didn't
The school where I am applying to in the fall is so unpredictable when it comes to applications....
intelligence isn't the only thing schools look at.
Ashley Villalobos I love your profile pic
Just the exam, if you do good one exam you have a fair shot of getting in.
yup.
UK's in the EU yet many unis have interviews
+the Void where in the EU is this? Its not like this in the UK.
+TheSomeawesome thank you :) I completely agree with you (especially about standardised tests)

Charlotte Carson no you don't
Charlotte Carson You don't. If you really WANT a high score you'll make it happen
Keep trying and accept any opportunities that come your way because u never where it might take you
go to Germany, you will learn German, get great education and it is so much cheaper

Lol
You still have a chance given the right variables and some luck. I'm Asian and graduated from a high school with about 30% Asians and got into an Ivy League school (I did take a non traditional route to college though and grew up going up schools from both the inner city and the suburbs so who knows what was important).

Picking students based on financial income and your parent's education isn't going to help predict how successful they will be in a class. I'm so glad change is being made now.

I guess they changed it because I don't know what you're talking about.
So to get into college I just have to:
-be white
-have parents who are college graduates
- be rich
-profit?

+Patrick please tell what non-ivy leagues are like than
+Sammy Kim Then..... it's then......
+League in Na lol I'm running on an hour of sleep sorry bruh
@@sammykins4151 public schools are way more stats based, they don’t look that hard to build a specific campus

+cameii77 for buzzfeed news ????
This really proves that the poor can only stay poor, even if they have the potential.
Deep
Wrong. Liz Murray was homeless and earned a full ride to Harvard.
Kelly B one piece of anecdotal evidence doesn’t prove anything. Look at the full picture and how many white rich people got in.
Well it certainly disproves the theory that poor people cannot go to Ivy League Schools, even if they have potential.
You don't have to go to Yale to not be poor...
Ivies
*Pros:* The obvious - good financial aid and support.
May the odds be in your favors.

+Johana Camarena they didn't even say any of that but ok
Johana Camarena I don't think you even know how college admission works.
Ivy colleges do prefer rich and smart people because of the image that it creates. This has nothing to do with race.
A rich African American female with the same grade would have easily taken her spot at Yale.
The U.S. education system ladies and gentlemen.

Brutally honest. Gah, I hated that part of senior year. Thanks for the post, guys!
Quality education is a right, not a luxury, and should not be treated or priced as one. There are so many changes we need to make in the education system, starting with elementary and public education, to award students the same opportunities, regardless of their identity or background.

I would say it depends on income. If you're low income and you get into a top tier school, it could very well be cheaper to actually attend the 4 year university than the community college.

I'm very happy Europe isn't like this. You graduated high school on a certain level? Boom, you got into university!
(of course it isn't as severe as in the US but still...)
And when you take a look at France the highschool (collège) you went to pretty much determines to which University you will be allowed to go, so it is very hard to get to the top schools (for example the École Nationale d’Administration) when you live in certain areas.
Just wanted to put that out there 😌
I didn't really realize those things no... I still feel like it's better here tho, and I'm happy we have universities here and not college
PLEASE DO MORE OF THESE
Im a senior waiting for my admission decisions, but I'm really glad I saw this.
Nah, they do want smart people who do a variety of things.
That description fits me perfectly lmao
Amanda Stevens public universities literally accept anyone with 21 act and 2.5 gpa lol anyone with half a brain can do that
I don't think it's possible to get rejected from a community college. If you are struggling, maybe you can go there for a little bit and then transfer. But by what you stated as your interests, I'm sure you can get into a university you want.
ayyy shadowhunter fam
Your background tells them you can afford the tuition. That's why they take it into account

Minorities have a better chance of getting in and getting scholarships actually, if you are up to par academically

Applying to universities is so stressful... that's why I went to a community college first then transferred! Best decision ever - money wise & education wise
What's the difference between a community college and university? :)
+Sophie K I wanna know that too.
I'm leaving a comment here to see the replies.
A community college is a low tuition(very low tuition compared to university) 2 year plan collge which allows you to get an associates degree.
this is scary as hell because im a senior in high school
in my opinion, it won't even matter where you go to school.
+Vilja S It cannot be free. That is logically and economically impossible. If it was there'd be no school.
+HunterBow1 it's paid out of general taxation. Like health.
The only thing you're going to miss in those IVY schools is some full body elitism.
Does anyone know if Canada has similar laws? I would love to see my university admissions files as well.
I don't know, but I do know that universities are free there

+nerdyjock lol yeah uni is super expensive here but i know that american schools are a bit more pricey
It is almost harder to study law here than it is to study medicine.
thank you for adding on to the anxiety one week before decision letters start flowing in
I'm so happy she told them off at the end, it is utter Bull
I wish I could see what was written about me 💀

Hey! She went to Minneapolis school! I was an exchange student in Minneapolis- love that city! lol
I just got accepted into the college I wanted, makes me wonder what they thought of me... Hmm.
+SpiritWolf yooo congratz
teto Thanks! It was honestly a great moment for me c:
Can we just talk about the fact that in my part of the UK, I will get off Scot free (pardon the pun) after uni/college, and people from the other 92% of the UK will be left with student loans of up to £63,000? Not fair.
What part you in?
+Connor Doogan Well, somebody has to pay the loans... And it sure as hell be the one using them that pays em off
+Connor Doogan It's fair to us in Scotland because there's laws about it that our MSP's voted in.
Welp. This made me nervous since I'm waiting on 3 Ivy League school decisions. April, where the hell are you?
Good luck! Hope that you get in!
+Gabby Avery Good luck!
+goduxunike if she is anything like the reporter in the video we just saw... She most likely will
Lol you need Oprah not April
I really wish you a lot of luck and success !!!!!!
I love that poor kids are finally getting a chance to go to amazing collages. My dad was from a low income family but he was really smart and ended up going to Northwestern and then Stanford for business school. Now he's a CEO which is pretty cool. It's amazing what having a shot at a great education can do for someone.
i watched this years ago, and now watching as a senior i’m getting severe anxiety
