For marination
prawns 1 kg
salt 1 tbsp
a pinch of turmeric powder
For masala paste
25 red dried chilies
vinegar 1 cup
pepper 1/2 tbsp
cumin seeds 1 tbsp
2 pieces of cinnamon
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp ginger
For the seasoning
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
10-12 curry leaves
5 green chilies
1 tbsp garlic
1 tbsp ginger
2 onions

It’s summer here in Connecticut so it’s time for me to make pickles for the winter. Shrimp was on sale so today I tried the shrimp pickle. I used jalapeños instead of Indian chilies and ginger garlic paste instead of chopped. Added a little sugar so my kids can enjoy it as well. Your recipe is simple and the pickle came out delicious. A great recipe for prawn pickle. I was comparing your Mackrels Pickle Masala and Prawn Pickle Masala. There is abit of difference in the ingredients used in both recipes. Both are high class recipes. I made the Mackrel pickle last weekend. Turned out great. Thanks. I washed mackrels with white vinegar. Just one question. You say no water is to be used. So what happens when water is used to wash prawns.wont the pickle spoil. Let me know please. Thanks for both yr recipes.👍
Notice it has been fried in oil to make it free from excess water n other ingredients like vinegar salt n oil in proportion will keep it in its preservation

Use little more sugar to neutralize d vinegar taste ...yes it has long shelf life no problem ....plastic bottle use only for travelling but do empty in glass bottle at ur final destination its healthy n safe so

Sefra would'nt it be better if we use awooden laddle to stir. as while stirring u feel the iron is scraping. I hpe u dont mind.besides I enyoyed making the neuris n baath it came out nice . ThankU.
since its an anodized vessel we didn't find it a need to use wooden ladle, yes but I will definitely consider this. Para fish and king fish mole lets see if mom knows we'll put it up next time

You may use any oil of your choice, but we prefer to use this oil so we prepared the recipe with it.
