We're gonna take good care of you here. Thank God we found you floating around in that sea of darkness. 😊 May I buy you a coffee and suggest something I know will fry your brain some more? Two brothers, Johnny and Edgar Winter. I believe most of their careers were spent solo but this here collaboration with the two of them together will blow your mind. It's called Tobacco Road and is an old delta blues song written I believe in the 20's and covered by several. You'll see that in the first 30 seconds your face will already be gone - melted - just gone. I dont believe I've subbed yet but I will today. If ya can't get around to it for a while, that's ok. Oh yeah, it's a fusion of jazz and blues - maybe some other things too. Not a musician, just a fan like most. ✌🏼❤ Couldn't find where I could buy you a coffee so I bought a tshirt for myself instead. Just became a grandpa 6 months ago so I had to get the Grandbruh shirt. 🤣🤣 love it. The kids will get a kick out of it too. ❤❤
Hey there. I’m so glad you got the Grandbruh shirt lol my grandkids call me that and I designed this myself. I looked up the song that you mentioned and saved it. Thanks for giving me some guidance, Lord knows I need it. Glad to have you here with me ❤️🥰❤️
@@thequestionqueens Hello Ms Debbie. I'm glad I came across your channel. Keep being you and you'll have a million followers by end of year. 😊 God bless. Stosh
Johnny Copeland is an absolute legend in the world of blues and his vocals are magical! When you listen to Stevie’s collaborations with all those legendary musicians you can see how Stevie was just on another level. All of the greats bring something unique to the show but Stevie was the Prime Cut Above All!!❤
People talk about his guitar playing and his singing but the one thing I really love about Stevie is his great big heart he never let his success go to his head and respected all the great artists that inspired him. He would sometimes have them perform with him not about of charity he did it so the people that enjoyed his music could enjoy the ones that he loved . I rereading one time in the book called Texas Flood he and BB King was performing the same night and they had BB as the opening act Stevie lost it and told them to change it BB Kong is nobody’s opening act and would not perform until they changed it and put them as co headliners
Love your reaction to Stevie Ray Vaughn and Johnny Copeland, Tin Pan Alley. Your eyes and facial expressions really bring out the drama and the pure genius of these two artists. Just really enjoy watching your reactions.
PLEASE PLEASE check out Stevie and Jeff Healy playing look at little sister. Jeff lost his eyesight to cancer as a child. His guitar skills will touch your heart as well. Love your reactions. Your a beautiful soul
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley, Wisconsin. The next morning when I heard the horrible news was one of the saddest days of my life. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray and Buddy Guy. I think Stevie's brother played that night too, but that was a long time ago. I do know that Jeff Healey played with him the night before. RIP SRV!🎸
"Tightrope" on Austin City Limits is amazing as well. The song is about his addiction, that he overcame. Oh yea...and "Riviera Paradise" at the same show really shows his soul and guitar skills blend together. Amazing.
Even if your exposure to the blues has been limited in the past , I am happy to see you enjoying it now. No other music do you "FEEL" it as much as hear it. It is never to late to enjoy the blues .
I can’t even imagine what kind of journey we would have been taken through if we could have seen Stevie performing into his 40’s 50’s and 60’s ! My God I miss him so much ❤
Your facial expressions throughout this put a big ol' smile on my face! Sometimes awe, a lot of outright grinnin', and a little stank-face now and again...priceless. Welcome to Texas Blues!
All music touches the soul. Blues however, reaches far deeper into that place. How can anything so sad, make you so happy? What intrigues us about music that is so tragic and mournful? What compels us to want to hear more of the Blues?
Loving these SRV reactions!! Check out "Lenny" live @ the El Mocambo if you find a chance - it's a song Stevie wrote for his wife at the time. One of the most beautiful instrumentals ever in my opinion.
Lord have mercy Debbie. You make my day with your reactions! New to the blues is really exciting to me For YOU! I’m a 61 year old native Texan blues musician and have been a huge Stevie fan forever! His collaborations with these legendary blues players are priceless! Keep em coming PLEASE!❤❤
Love it towards the end when Chris Leyton hits the rim tap perfect at 13:29 and Stevie turns back and points at Chris and laughs, probably thinking your a bad cat!
The blues came out of the fields of the southern share croppers and slaves of the 19th century. Blues then moved out of the fields and up and down the Mississippi from New Orleans to Chicago. The blues was interpreted by so many in so many ways, that eventually, some of it started sounding like jazz. Other blues started sounding more country, and yet others made it sound jump and jivey. The blues is the grandparents of country, rock, jazz, rhythm and blues and even rap. It is the fountain from which all of modern music came from. You can hear the blues in almost everything.
All a boy like me can do is shake my head. if this maestro has this effect on the soul of every pretty lady such as yourself, what chance do we mere mortals have? LOL It just ain't fair.
Anyone who learned to type in school can equate that to the guitar. Practicing everyday, you eventually type without thinking about it without looking at the keyboard,. It is the same with the guitar, you eventually get the muscle memory to 'speak" through your fingers. You've done every trick, scale, and fingering pattern you can study, and it just comes naturally after a short time.
You keep getting your mind blown by Stevie. A completely different kind of mind blow is Stevie at the El Macambo playing 'Third Stone from the Sun'. It's wild.
That's the blues for ya - it is the root of all music we listen to today - you can hear the old 1920s- 1940-s delta blues and it is a totally different style of it, but it is still the same, just one performer, their voice, and a beat up acoustic guitar - foundation for all popular music to come. Equally great - say Robert Johnson would be the SRV of that style (so so very many others, just the easiest comparison as far as the best of the best). But yeah, there is something about a nice long slow blues electric on the electric guitar which is singular within the larger blues world, and in my mind, nobody ever did or ever has done it like Stevie. Mind you, there are so many great, insanely amazing players who Stevie emulated, admired, copied, and he'd probably not put himself in the top 20. He knew he was a bad bad dude, but he was way too humble and respectful of those who he learned from and those around him to ever do anything but pay respect. The "Little Sister" video everyone likes to see is just Stevie, live at Austin City Limits - he does yet another one of his legendary moves that will just continue to cement his status as a soul master blues magician wizard. Stevie had a zillion influences, so many genres to backup his Texas Blues - one of them was Surf Rock, pioneered by Dick Dale, and it had that style of fast strumming he did in this solo - it is called tremolo strumming and is integral in the surf rock sound in the 60s, especially Dick Dale (see "Pipeline - Stevie and Jimmy Vaughan" another video that'll blow your mind, plus you get to see him with his big bro who was his ultimate guitar idol and the trick they pull off is one of a kind - you'll love it!). But it is a great example of how Stevie was unique amongst so many truly worthy and incredible blues players - he mastered everything from Chicago and British electric blues, to old school country blues, to psychedelic rock (Hendrix was the master in that arena, throw David Glimour of Pink Floyd in, but even he was at his heart a straight blues player) to jazz (that is where I am sure you will soon get to "Lenny" from El Mocambo and "Riviera Paradise" from Austin City Limits to hear how the great jazz guitarists were also pivotal in Stevie's quest to be the best.) All those words....in the end, the blues is just a feeling - words aren't even necessary. This video hasn't gotten old the hundreth time I've watched it for the reason you stated, they were having the time of their lives and Stevie looked up to Jonny, an little bit older Texas Blues icon, so to him, it was like a dream come true any time he got to play with the people he admired and took his path from listening to and watching. The blues never gets old, never gets tired, it is with you when you are happy, it comforts you when you're down, it spans 100 years of individual stories and people who each play what is so simple at it's basic musical structure, but they inject their own soul and technique and feeling, and so every one makes this 3 chord song structure into a lifelong journey that will be with you for the rest of your life. It is a pleasure to have you share this experience, thank you truly!
I absolutely have enjoyed your reactions to my beloved Stevie Ray Vaughan. I think you’d really enjoy his earlier 1982 Montreux show before he even had a record contract. Hideaway & Rude Mood, he oozes cool!! It’s a must see.
8:49 Off camera you can hear Stevie shouting his appreciation a particular riff from Johnny. 8:20 Stevie does it again, only with a couple quick upstrokes rather than his voice. 12:17 Johnny forgets the lyrics but his guitar remembers them, so he went with that.
@ marker #12:07 ... Copeland, I understand, had forgotten the words to the song. They all seemed to get a good laugh out of it. You must watch the entire concert. Its next to none. After #Tin Pan Alley they we're about to do a tribute to Jimi Hendrix with #Voodoo Chile.
So glad that you're taking the blues journey! Let me introduce you to another blues master, the late legendary Rory Gallagher. Rory was courted by the Rolling Stones when Mick Taylor left, and Clapton credited Rory with getting him back into the blues. Rory played with blues masters such as Muddy Waters and Albert King. Rory interpreted the blues through his unique Irish spirit and the result was nothing short of amazing. A nice place to start would be "I Wonder Who?" performed in Belfast 1984. The video has a small glitch in the sound level for about 20 seconds, but it doesn't diminish the 9 minutes of guitar heaven. Another amazing blues piece is the 1977 Hammersmith Odeon performance of "Calling Card", one of Rory's own compositions. Stellar guitar work from a master. Enjoy!
I commented once before I don't know if you caught it. But there's a song out there called Riviera paradise original video live. When you get a chance god check that out you wanna see some great guitar player
Any reaction to SRV is so appreciated. I would say next should be Look At Little Sister, live at Austin City Limits 1989. Stevie had gotten sober at this point and you can tell the difference. Not only that, but Reese Wynans had an awesome solo on keyboards. Plus another little surprise. In this video, Johnny did forget the words to the song so Stevie wound up finishing the last verse. I have seen Johnny's version, and the words are a bit different.
*Debbie beautiful Debbie* ( referring back to an earlier video ), I for one appreciate your makeup regimen....:) So.... I'm commenting before watching as I've seen this but I KNOW.... your gonna be blown away...., *Have a significant Thursday* .....

Totally love your SRV reactions! The one you gotta react to is Stevie Ray at Soundcheck..... it's literally a soundcheck before a show. Stevie is wearing a full length cheetah skin coat with snakeskin boots..... it'll knock you on your ass lol...... Please do it soon!!! ..... you can thank me later ;) ...... and when you get up off the floor from that one, check out "Cold Shot" LIVE from Austin Texas in 1989..... it'll make you sweat , I guarantee it!
You seem to have a thing for Texas blues men. Try Johnny Winter. "Mean Town Blues" or "Be Careful With a Fool". Live versions. I'd love to take you to my local blues bar for one of their open stage nights. You'd be amazed.
I Guess Master Stevie Has Successfully Recruited You! Welcome To The Wonderful World Of The Blues! You'll Never Go Back! Try Some Things Like All Blues By Eric Clapton, BB King, Buddy Guy Bonnie Raitt & Even Pat Benatar Kicks Its ASS on Blues!
Me again! If you like slinky, give "Killing Time" by Jimmy Witherspoon. Some brilliant female blues artists: Bonnie Rait, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Samantha Fish. Beth Hart (she has an interesting back story, it you can realy hear it in her voice, and try some of her stuff with Joe Bonnamasa. Also Dr John.
Behind the scenes-still amazing. ua-cam.com/video/grBmQwLSlDw/v-deo.html A tired SRV and band drag themselves into a soundcheck; it’s recorded by a handheld camera. Some of the songs are not structured like performance mode and cam doesn’t pick up vocal mics-yet, still fire. The band is laughing when the keyboard player’s bench breaks and interrupts the last song
Thanks for this one -- those vocals (from them both!) -- deep... I think for Look at Little Sister, people are probably requesting his version with Jeff Healey (amazing - Jeff is blind) - I love your reaction!! Keep it up, Girl - you get this! (BTW, I hope to hear more "expanded" stuff from you -- I really wanted to recommend Queen - they have an amazing catalog beyond their "hits" - but in the spirit of the blues/instrumentals - maybe Doobie Brothers - early stuff... like "Black Water"... ua-cam.com/video/m4oZCtfmh44/v-deo.html)
Just for your information blues if it wasn't for that music rock and roll. Which of course a lot of genre's of music came out of it Would have never came into existence.because rock came out of blues
Blues is all about feeling. Johnny is not very familiar with this song. His first vocal part he improvised the lyrics on. When Stevie reprises he incorporates one of Johnny’s lines, “what kind of place can an alley be?”. On his second vocal part Johnny just said “to hell with it” and did a small solo instead of singing. You can see Stevie looking at him, just smiling and enjoying it. This is as bluesy as it gets. Two masters at their prime. God I miss SRV!
Anybody that plays the blues knows this song.....,he WAS too high and forgot the words and I don't mean any disrespect to him I mean hey I high and can't remember what I stood up for LoL
I believe you should react to some jeff healey, he is every bit as good as stevie is except jeff is blind... may I suggest jeff healey playing as the years go passing by, I just know you'll love it
Johnny probably didn't like this being popular because he couldn't remember the song so he just stands there looking confused. Oh, this about the music district of New York City.
Hi Southern Belle, now you start to feel what blues can do and how the guitar playing is completely different then other genres, try another GOAT of GOATS. He’ll surely amaze you as well. The also to early died Gary Moore, song Parisienne Walkways m.ua-cam.com/video/vkUpfw4Hf3w/v-deo.html Believe me, you won’t be sorry 🤘🎸🤘
I love her too Swang💕 She makes my day and have really enjoyed her free fall into our beloved Stevie's rabbit hole. The Blues💙🎶💙🎶 have grabbed ahold of her and she has found a home✌️💙

That motion is a circular strumming pattern that is one of Stevie's trademarks. It is a trick he learned from Spanish guitar playing, and flamenco.

Just Epic , what else
You have to watch Little Sister from Austin City Limits. They do the smoothest guitar change out.
Debbie, definitely do “Look at Little Sister”. Here’s the link

Theyre laughing at the end because Johnny forgot the words after his first verse.
Buddy guy danm right I got the blues
Reason they were laughing at the end is because Johnny forgot his place and words so he improvised.
😎👍
"Look at Little Sister" with Jeff Healey Please!!
Check out Alvin Lee doing The Bluest Blues or Help Me (baby).

A tired SRV and band drag themselves into a soundcheck; it’s recorded by a handheld camera.
I believe you should react to some jeff healey, he is every bit as good as stevie is except jeff is blind... may I suggest jeff healey playing as the years go passing by, I just know you'll love it
I’ll look that up. Thank you 💙
I alsays got pregnant to this music 😅
Srv was the blues
Johnny probably didn't like this being popular because he couldn't remember the song so he just stands there looking confused.
Oh, this about the music district of New York City.
Hi Southern Belle, now you start to feel what blues can do and how the guitar playing is completely different then other genres, try another GOAT of GOATS. He’ll surely amaze you as well. The also to early died Gary Moore, song Parisienne Walkways

Believe me, you won’t be sorry 🤘🎸🤘
The Austin City Limits performance of this song is far superior to this one.
