📖📚 Thank you for the wonderful videos y’all put out! I am a quilter, but found your first “most expensive” video and was hooked! I have started my first cross stitch about 3 weeks ago and absolutely love it! Thanks for yet another craft that I am completely obsessed with. Keep up the good work, with love from your southern neighbors of Texas!!
You are so welcome! We are so happy you're getting into cross stitch! It's an easy one to get obsessed with! 📚❤️🌎
That was a wonderful watch, thank you for taking the time to research, compile and share these :) I've got 10 of the books you listed, and I've added 7 to my wishlist, thanks for the enablement lol I first discovered L'arbre de Noe back in 2020 when I came back to cross stitch. Back when I stopped stitching Julia wasn't well known, so discovering her work in 2020 and then seeing the charts in this book, well of course it became a unicorn. I love her designs but because I am such a slow stitcher, the designs in this book really appealed because they weren't as massive. I was lucky to be able to get this book two years ago from a Facebook de-stash group, but thankfully didn't pay that much. Like you mentioned, many of these books not only have designs, but have beautiful spreads and information on the history of stitching. As a stitcher, learning the history of stitching enriches my own experience while I stitch; it's very personal of course. One thing I will say is "never say never." That unicorn book or chart or kit will come along at a price that you will be ok to pay
I see the cover of the L'arbre de Noe, but not the charts?
I knew you would have some! And I think I saw on Instagram you just got another one right before this video was published? You basically have your own cross stitch library!
I love these videos so much! I'm Also going to need follow up videos with all the stories you guys are getting! 😊
Glad you like them! 📚❤️🌎
📗 Love this series you guys are doing! I actually found your channel via the Most expensive patterns video! Thank you for the time invested in creating these, they are a lot of fun to watch!
Glad you like them! And I'm loving your channel too! -Stephanie 📚❤️🌎
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe Thank you so much 😊
I absolutely love these videos. Thanks for all of the hard work you do put into them. Love and blessings xx
Thank you so much! 📚❤️🌎
Wonderful video with sooo many infos about books I never heard of and some I have :)
Great research and devotation to the topic ! 📚
Some people must have treasures they’re so not aware of.
Great extra 🎉 📖
Thank you so much! 📚❤️🌎
The Proper Stitch has some of the best stitch directions and diagrams of any book I’ve ever seen. Worth the $ as a reference in addition to the included pattern.
📖 Great video! I love LDS and have been looking for L’Arbre de Noe’ off and on for about a year, ever since I saw a flip thru of it on one of the first floss tubes I ever watched. I don’t remember who did the flip thru, but that is how I first learned about Long Dog Samplers and found Julia’s website from googling looking for the book. I have a couple of her patterns but haven’t stitched them yet. If I ever manage to find the book for a “reasonable” price I will buy it, but there are so many wonderful patterns on her website that I know I won’t live long enough to stitch all the ones I’d like to (I am 68 years old). Happy stitching!
I have started one of her smaller ones, and they're beautiful! Did you see the reel going around where someone is knitting a LDS? It's incredible! 📚❤️🌎
Love this series! Thanks for all your work! 📚
You are so welcome! 📚❤️🌎
Great series of videos, this one was very interesting to me since I don’t have as many books in my collection as I do leaflets and kits. Thanks for sharing! 📕💕
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
🤩🪡📘 thanks for this series! I really enjoy your videos.
Glad you like them! 📚❤️🌎
📚 that deserves multiple books. Loving this series!
Awe thank you! 📚❤️🌎
I appreciate all your research. Very eye opening. 📘
Thank you 📚❤️🌎
I actually have two copies of the Teresa's fantasy themed books because both my mother and I got copies from the store when I was in highschool. Neat. I haven't stitched anything yet, but I've been wanting to for many many years. They're gorgeous patterns.
Super interesting as always - and I was very surprised by the first book on the list being one of the very few cross-stitch books in our own collection! The Donna Kooler one. I refer to it sometimes when I need references for shapes and figures. Thanks for the intense amount of time and research that go into these videos! 📚
Thank you so much! Glad you found a hidden treasure! 📚❤️🌎
Fun video. So interesting. Thank you for spending so much time researching info. Loved listening to it all.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Rock Chalk! This was so interesting- what a wide variety of books. I have a variation of a couple of these I was surprised to find out but none of the really expensive ones. Have a great week.
📚 can't wait to see the magazine video! I may need to look through my books now!
You should! Maybe you'll find something special. 📚❤️🌎
Love this series ladies - thank you! I have 2 of the books on the list and am very happy to have only paid a fraction of what you found they went for, one of them was in a shop bargain bin! 😀
You are so welcome! And yes, that's fabulous! 📚❤️🌎
This was another interesting video. I'll have to update my inventory list to reflect market values on these lol. Just a thought - for books like the Paula Vaughan quilt book, the stockings, and especially the 101 Best Loved book - when you divide out the total price by the number of charts, you're still getting a good deal.. for the 101 Best Loved book, it's less than $1 per chart. And even allowing for the fact that most folks wouldn't want to stitch EVERY design in the book, the price isn't as staggering (IMO only, of course!) as it might seem.
TW's Fantasy books and charts are selling for more than her other designs because, as you said, she pulled her dragons from the market. Many of her other designs that she has the rights to are available on Patterns Online at a pretty reasonable price. For a collector, it's still a "thing" to have the books, of course, which probably helps keep the price of the Christmas book a bit higher.
I was actually surprised that you didn't find more reference type books or books about sampler collections and reproductions in your list; I know when I've been looking for some I've seen mentioned from time to time I thought they were pretty high priced. I can't swear that many of them were out of print, though. 🪡👠
I agree most of these books are still not much money per hour of enjoyment you'd get if you settled in and stitched most of them! I wonder if some of the books are not classified as cross stitch books but larger embroidery books (which I wasn't looking for). Good to think about when it's time to update this video in a year or two. Thanks for sharing! 📚❤️🌎
The Cross Stitch Garden by Kazuko Aoki was published in English in the UK in 2016 and 2018 and is available on UK ebay ranging from £20 to about £100 - it has a different cover to the one released in Chinese
That's so interesting! Thanks for sharing! Now that you say that, I *think* I've seen in on a Flosstube before, but I can't remember which one and it was definitely an English copy.
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe No worries! She also has a few satin stitch books with similar names
very cool!@@MariaTheGreenStitcher
I have a Palestinian cross stitch piece my dear friend brought back from his last Israel trip. It is a geometric pattern on 11 Count Aida made by students in the school he supports in Aboud. Made to be a pillow, I put on a board to display in my craft room. I visited in 2014, it’s such a treasure.
Now I need to find my Teresa Wentzler dragons and Paula Vaughan books!
Wow, you have first-hand experience with so many of these interesting genres and book! What a treasure your friend brought you. 📚❤️🌎
Hi Ladies. It was so fun to watch your video of the most expensive patterns. I was really happy to have one of them in my stash and I’ve only been stitching again for the last four years. Lucky me. Looking forward to see what else you have up your sleeves. Catch you in the next one. Linnie from SABLE Stitchers. ❤❤❤❤❤
I just started a piece from that Long Dog Book for Leap Day.
Ooh that's so exciting!
I love this series ! I may be French but I can't pronounce Véronique Enginger either. She's particularly popular among Japanese and Russian stitchers
Oh that's so interesting! Apparently she has some inprint books you can buy through Target in the US. I might check out her work. 📚❤️🌎
These are so fun and interesting!
Thank you! 📚❤️🌎
I am loving this series! And wishing I had some rare charts or books in my stash 😂📕📚📖
Maybe one day! Never say never! 📚❤️🌎
I can't believe one of the books I have is on the list - the 101 Best-loved designs from Cross Stitch & Country Crafts! It has a lot of great patterns! I didn't realise it was so expensive, I was lucky to find it at a flea market for £2 😱 I was actually planning to do a flip through video some time soon
Wow that’s amazing! Great find ❤️
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe I just had a search on UK ebay and it's available for £45
📚 I’m pretty sure “a cross-stitch Christmas season of memories” may or may not have been my purchase😂 I can’t remember if I bought it on eBay or used on Amazon for around that price… all I remember is Pam and steph did a flip through and I HAD to have it…. A ton of adorable patterns from well known designers only available in the book….definitely well worth it!😁😁 loving these flosstube extras! Great job ladies❤
Love that! Thank you so much for sharing! We love hearing the stories behind the purchases. It's so fun! 📚❤️🌎
📚 Thank you for the interesting video. Ot is always crazy to see how high prices can get. Funny enough though, I have the Theresa Wentzler book that you showed. I purchased it 15-20 years ago and I got a bargain @ $5.00. It was wild to see how much some people are selling the for now.
Thanks for sharing! Yes - some of these books have risen in value so much it's wild! 📚❤️🌎
Very interesting! I have tons of books----but none on the list lol
Hold onto them - some of them might pop off down the road! 📚❤️🌎
PS the one pattern I would have to think twice about is a Blackbird Design ‘America the Beautiful’. I’ve been looking for that one. Have a great week ❤
Great video ladies 😊 📕
Thank you! 📚❤️🌎
That was fun! Veronique Enginger books are delightful. French cross stitch is very different than American styles. It’s very delicate but quite beautiful. 📚
📖 I have alot of beautiful cross stitch books, including the BHG 101 book mentioned in this video. I'm surprised that "The Best of Paula Vaughn: Book Two" is not on this list. It isn't wildly expensive, but I've seen it between $50-$100. I am looking for it because I have vol. 1 and want to complete the set.
📚Please do a follow up with all the follow up information.
We will! Thanks! 📚❤️🌎
So much fun! Nice to know my Paula Vaughn book is worth more than what I paid for it back in the day! LOL Thank you for sharing your Stitchy Joy! 📙
Great to see your updates
📕 this was so interesting!! Thank you for all your research!!
You are so welcome! 📚❤️🌎
📚 yikes 💵. I can be thankful that none of them peaked my interest 😁. I am looking forward to your future magazine video. I have heard so many FlossTube channels complain about a variety of magazines containing absolutely nothing they would care to stitch. And I can only think of one magazine that a variety of people speak highly of. But when they show that magazine it didn’t appeal to me personally, but I can appreciate others liking it 🙂. I have never bought a cross stitch magazine since I have heard so many poor reviews. Maybe your video will inspire me to try one!
I've pulled a bunch of the research for magazines and it's interesting. Some I get, and some I don't get. But I might when I look into them more? We'll know in about a month lol 📚❤️🌎 -Stephanie
📖 so interesting!!
Thank you! 📚❤️🌎
📕 📚📖 Awesome job!
📚 great video!
Thank you! 📚❤️🌎
Very interesting series of video. I am surprised that Helene Le Berre's book Icones de Mode did not make it to the top. It is in the same style of Veronique Enginger's designs, and this book is currently sold sh at prices between 90 and 149 euro, so a little bit more in dollars. Or maybe it was mentioned in this video and I've just missed it. I wanted this book, but when I saw the price ... luckily there are a lot more wonderful designs that I can afford to buy. :)
Ooh we will check her out! We didn't see them sell on eBay, but maybe eBay France doesn't come up when we search as much?
Teresa Wentzler - gorgeous cross stitch but I HATE BLENDED THREADS!!!
I don't mind blended but I don't love them! Thanks for sharing. 📚❤️🌎 -Stephanie
i have actually stitched number 8 - Theresa Wentzler dragon when I was a kid. have no idea where it went. I no longer have that xstitch in my possession or the book.
That's very interesting! Thank you for sharing! 📚❤️🌎
And now I’m going crazy for Palestinian cross stitch!!!! Fascinating
It's beautiful! Definitely check out the link to the initiative on Instagram. Lot's of beautiful free patterns and education about what's going on now.
Erm, soooooo I may have just ambled on to ebay, not actually bought but I have a new unicorn. The Theresa wenzler (put a bid in on a kit, but also watching the book)
📖 I’m with Allison on a lot of these - get out!! If only I knew back in the day. I’m obviously not Marty McFly or I’d be back to the future making me some cross stitch money.
Are you ladies going to the Wayne retreat in October?
I’m looking into it. Are you going?
@@Allisonatthemoment yes. If you want info let me know.
I am trying to figure it out, but not sure because I'd need a lot of child care. One day I'll be able to go to more retreats. There are some that look really fun! 📚❤️🌎 -Stephanie
@@CrossStitchtheGlobe I understood! My boys, now a senior in HS and a College Freshman, are 23 months apart. I did kids during that time and nothing else.
Now i need to know the most expensive booklets 👀

Hi I watched your video and I found it interested in most expensive cross stitch book. I find that I must be way off the mark as most of the books did not interest me. The only ones that did were the ones in French. I love the European designers as they give a lot of depth to their projects. They do take a lot of time because of their complexity. The Eastern European and French I have found are the most complex and most lovely
