Funny enough, the ps1 version gives a more horror vibe cause everything is so dark and creepy, on the dreamcast everything is so clear and smooth it kinda makes it look a bit more cartoony
you can see how the power of the hardware was made a big difference here., the ps1 just couldn´t render that many polygons and also had a hard time moving everything in an open space, there is a lots of textures too., but the ps1 had problems when the levels were too open or large, on Tomb Raider games for example there were always frames dropped when the scenes involved large and open fields with lots of details, the dreamcast on the other hand had more power, could render and move way more polygons and besides the textures have different effects layered between each other, that´s what i call a real generation leap
Heard PS1 port was rush out, If fans mod/hack, fix/patch and can rebalance and optimize game to run and look close as the N64, then it might been a more decent port.
Mother of Neptune... I'm glad I checked the reviews and saw a massive disparity when it came to the PS1 ver, that's the one I was gonna get XD eegh! The way everything's rendered on PS1 adds to the horror feel, I think, and that the low rez makes it harder to tell how simple the models are... that and it's a lot darker lighting wise. But man, it looks like a literal nightmare to play.
The Dreamcast version was the original pc version, the dreamcast got ports from the late 90s pc gaming., that brief 98-2000 where the PCs started to do real 3D beyond quake, games like unreal, omikron and others like that., those pc games were inferior to what the Ps2 and Dreamcast could do, the consoles had better developers, the pc was always a more "indie" space, less pro., but still those PC games were technically superior to the ps1 and n64, and the Dreamcast got all the ports., i don´t know if those games helped the dreamcast cause at the end of the day the games made by the pro devs from the arcades and console space were the memorable ones, but still made the library of the dreamcast more rich for sure

My thoughts exactly!
N64 is the best balanced version, and the game was originally developed fot it.
The dreamcast port has better framerate and graphically than both N64 and ps1 comparison.
Of course it's has. Dreamcast was a next gen at game release ;)
Boy, do I love the Dreamcast!
Alright ;)

The main word is "if". But still not worst port for PS1 though.
I have the Ps1 version. The framerate is so bad it makes the game almost unplayable. The other port are legit.
Yup. Framerate really unstable in PS1 version.
Dreamcast was awesome at the time. The semi-recent re-release from Nightdive is excellent.
Yup. Nightdive did a good remaster.

Sur Dreamcast, c'étaient les plus beaux graphismes (le plus lissés et les moins pixélisés) et une meilleure fluidité.
Okay ;)

The Dreamcast version is the definitive one.
The N64 version is close second.
Stay away from the PS1 version. I mean it.
Okay ;)
PSONE version is horrible, very bad graphics and terrible frame rate, that version must be running less than 15 fps
At the expense of frame rate - yes, it's really unstable at this version.
