No sir. Education shouldn’t be a great business, nor do some USA students want to take someone else’s money. They simply want for government to stop lavishly spending the taxpayer dollars, including the taxes already paid by the rich and poor, in stupid multibillion wars, policing the world, controlling other governments and SERVE Americans primary needs FIRST! Health and education in America is pathetically u-n-a-f-o-r-d-a-b-le. Americans shouldn’t be force to leave USA because they can’t afford to live here.

People are only upset and entitled over the cost of schooling because it's largely the government's past actions that contributed to the reasons as to why college is unaffordable. Then society demands that students have to get a degree if they don't want to be an HVAC or construction worker, and whether you can obtain a college education or not helps contribute to class divides. You want educated people to make decisions and lead society, but if college is unaffordable, then it's only the rich who have the knowledge.

IKEA, LEGO, Ericsson, Volvo, Pandora jewellery, H&M, Electrolux and more. Then consider all the Nordic countries combined only have a population of 27.36 million it’s quite impressive how much wealthy there is in the Nordic regions. Such a blind American view.

I'm an American white woman, 71 years old. As I remember it - Grades 1 through 12 classes are "free" to all students. I say "free" as local property in quotes as local property taxes are typically set apart to build schools, hire teachers, approve curriculum and teach students. No tuition is paid by students. There are federal and state programs to help students if they don't have a packed lunch or lunch money, to make sure they are fed. The school curriculum that I went through gave me a sufficient background that I was able to attend University of Florida where I graduated with honors in 1976 with a Bachelor of Design from the College of Architecture where I majored in Interior Design. I worked part to full time throughout my University schooling, with help from my parents (even though I got married part way through). Who taught this kid that education was free and you didn't have to do anything to get it? Levels 1-12 are offered freely to students. But not everyone needs university level training to do the work that they want to do. Many trades and professions can be trained on the job. So either this young man is entitled or he is narcissist in thinking he must be given more than the rest of the Americans. Or has everything changed since then?

I want to invest in our society. People with Bachelor’s make 20gs more a year on average than a high school graduate. More money =more taxes and less uses of long-term welfare. The taxes for education are an investment that betters society. Therefore Logically its better to have for society.
If you only care about yourself obviously you might not care about others in society, but eventually society will effect you whether its through crime, more taxes used for welfare, or having to suffer from an abundance of uneducated people. Education is one of the most important parts of a society. If you know how much education benefits society and, therefore, you and you still dont want to be taxed for it, there is nothing can say other than that's part of a consequence of being in a society. Specifically a democracy. Although we are a republic, the same thing applies.
Members of a society make laws and legislation to benefit a society. That's why we tax people for social security, welfare, military defense budget, infrastructure, etc. I might not use any of the previously mentioned, but I am still taxed for them regardless. Just because someone might not ever need social security, welfare, military protection, or road infrastructure because they work at home and live in the woods does not mean they can refuse to be in society. The reason why they can't refuse to be taxed is because society forces individuals to invest in society, which helps society. It is for the greater good. It also indirectly helps individuals who do not directly use the previously mentioned programs. It could result in said person being less likely to be affected by crime, less likely to be taxed for other social programs, having an easier time getting a doctor, etc. It's a chain reaction. There are plenty of indirect positive consequences for investing in society through education. If you're against just educational grants but not all the other previously mentioned taxes, you are a hypocrite. Dont be a hypocrite and only be okay with taxes that directly benefit you. If you're against all taxes, then go live in the woods and do not use any of the services or products that society creates through taxes.
Also, entitlements are rights. If im taxed, im entitled to reasonable compensation. If society abolished all taxes I will not expect anything as I would not be giving things. Until taxes are abolished I will expect fair compensation. Right now we are not being fairly compensated considering social security will run out by 2033 and we have a massive military budget for irrelevant foreign affairs.

I received grants and scholarships to go to school but it was because of merit and because my household income was very low. If we start handing out free education to anyone and everyone, do people not see how that could end badly? Especially when you consider that you can learn almost anything for free online but that education doesn't come with the degree. Obviously a trade is different it requires actual material to learn with and somehow a trade school ends up being cheaper. Like how is it cheaper to teach someone to weld than it is to teach someone accounting, They need welding machines, equipment, materials and a facility that's outfitted for all that. Accounting is taught out of a book so how is it more expensive to become an accountant than a welder? It just doesn't make sense.
