I found this in the search and yet again grimmlifecollective you don't disappoint, I first watched the Bela Lugosi version of Dracula in the 1970s when I was 4 years old, even to this day its so vivid. I came downstairs as a small child as I couldn't sleep, my father was watching this old black and white film and so I sat on my dads lap and started staring at the tv screen, I remember my mother saying that this would scare me and my father answering if it does he will go back to bed. I sat there through the whole movie not moving, just captivated by this figure from the shadows with his flowing cloak and hypnotizing voice.
From that day on I was captivated by the horror genre, I was a huge hammer horror fan growing up being from the UK but I have always remembered this movie that started it all.
Thanks for walking me down the road of a happy memory from my childhood, its been a pleasure to watch....

I can really relate to what you said in this message ..I was born in 68 so fond and scary memories of being allowed to stay up in the mid to late 70s to watch the old universal and hammer horror movies they used to show on the BBC late at night. (remember the horror double bill ) my 3 brothers and I squeezed together on the sofa and my mum and dad on thr chairs. Me and my younger brother used to draw crosses on the condensation on the windows to keep dracula out when we went to bed 😂...my strongest memories are of Oliver Reed breaking out of the cell in his werewolf movie and of course the music they played just before Christopher Lee entered as Dracula...you knew he was coming so it was hiding behind the sofa, Peter Cushing was my first hero.. 😂..and then when Salems lot first aired in 2 parts in 1979 it was all anyone talked about in the yard at school the next day..a modern day vampire....mind blowing.....I still watch and enjoy those films to this day at 55 .

@@Filmbuf-g2k I first watched Salems lot when I was 8 years old on my own on holiday as it was on British tv. It reminded me of a mixture of the Bela Lugosi Dracula and the even older Nosferatu, the music and the way it was filmed always kept you involved and wanting more.
I can honestly say the horror movies of today pale in comparison, cheap jump scares and hardly any story, I definitely miss the older times when Hammer half hour was on a Thursday night and used to watch it on an old monochrome TV.......

@@HoldSimp I'm from UK too...yeah hammer house of horror was a revelation too..early 8Os...I think they are on one of the streaming channels ITVX I think......agreed...modern day horrors aren't much kop....was a bit disappointed in The last voyage of the Demeter was really looking forward to it too....

Vasquez Rocks are visually stunning, ground level, and from on high. I enjoy how you take pains to find and simulate the same camera angles from the movies, and especially incorporating the mat-painting of Borgo Pass from Dracula. Those extras make your vlogs outstanding and anticipated. Besides countless westerns, the rocks also served as the Planet Mongo in the 1930's Flash Gordon serials.

O.M.G. A beautiful video with some amazing footage. And to get the actual shot lined up from Dracula was PHENOMINAL. Speaking as someone who is terrified of heights even when you pointed the camera down from the peak of Vasquez rocks my stomach lurched. I'm just so pleased you got down safely.

Also, for a lover of grimm things, he is always talking about how beautiful things are. A very interesting, positive channel.

I love it...I live right by these famous rocks (for varied films) "Borgo Pass!" and Aqua Dulce is the area...see that road you're on (its next to the 14 freeway. You probably passed the ranch of wild animals owned/lives there Tippi Hedren of the Birds. I have been there too. I can imagine how you feel seeing this because its magnificent. On that Sierra Highway you most likely took to get there is a cafe called Halfway House and its used in many films PLUS a few of Clints. And.....in Santa Clarita (same area) on Railroad Ave near Lyons...is the Saugus Cafe (famous for films for many years) And...oh I love this one, by that Saugus Cafe is Clint's old trailer court he used in both Every Which Way But Loose films. And Valencia, (this same area) we film NCIS plus many more shows.

I don't know if you already know this, but the Vazquez Mountains are named after a famous 19th century Mexican bandit, Tiburcio Vásquez. San Andreas fault line. Has fixed the place up a bit. This looks like a fun day trip. Todays vampires are good. A true classic never go's out of style. ❤
