Thank you, thank you for this post! October 20, 2022 was Béla Lugosi’s 140th birthday. He, I believe, was the most beautiful man ever to grace the Silver Screen. He was tall, handsome, graceful in all his movements & gestures, & possessed a compelling intensity that has been unequalled. I never tire of watching him, & his hypnotic character interpretations. Béla, wherever you are, we love you!❤🍷💋🌹
I have ALWAYS APPRECIATED Mr. Bela Lugosi!!!! When I was small and first saw Dracula I was hooked. He was not only a very accomplished actor but also a great humanitarian. R. I. P. Mr. Bela Lugosi ❤
Had he been alive in the late 50s and throughout the 60s, his career would've been revived as horror films were making a comeback with the Hammer films, as well as Roger Coremans films. He would've done so well in those films. Him appearing in films with Vincent Price would've been magic. But I also thought he would've done great with playing fatherly roles. As Ive seen interviews with him, he always acted very fatherly, especially as he got older.
As much as I am a huge fan, I don’t think so. Many actors with his stage training were seen as too dated in their technique on set as by then, there was less need for stage trained actors since the talkies had been around long enough to produce a different breed of actor.
The only man that was Dracula no one do it like Bela 🦇👻⚰️love that immortal lines " listen to them... Children of the night what beautiful music 🎶 they make .. RIP 🕊️
….but he wasn’t. 😂 He was an amazing Dracula on stage for years and eventually the first on screen and so good at it. He was born Blasko (sic) in Lugoj when it was still Hungary. It’s in Romania now. Lugoj is about 360 km from Transylvania. Besides: Wallachia is south of that.
He was only one of many who was addicted in Hollywood; however, he was one of the rare stars who was forthcoming regarding his methadone/ morphine addiction.
Lugoj îs a city in Romania 🇷🇴 all day long, not Hungary. That part of Romania was a part of the Austro-Hungarian empire though at the time. Era drăguț când era tânăr. Fiul lui seamănă tare mult pe el.
Overrated! A good actor but nothing compared to Klaus Kinski or Gary Oldmans Dracula... not even close. Even Frank Langella delivers a much better performance.
Thank-you very much that's a very nice autobiography of Bela Lugosi life and career.
Thank you, thank you for this post!

It’s not every day an actor becomes immortal but he did
