I take a tablespoon of coconut oil, local honey (about half teaspoon), and sprinkle of salt.
This helps a lot with allergies/sinus, acid reflux and sleep. The few carbs in the honey are totally worth it.

Supports my theory that whole foods are best. Using coconut oil along with cream in my coffee has been a game changer. I also use coconut oil on my face at night, in a blend with essential oils. I have made body butters in the past - you are inspiring me to do so again.
Love to watch your videos! The way you present information feels like friends having a conversation. Too many loud-mouthed, know-it-all peeps out there. Thank you for sharing the science and the practical/human aspects with us :)

Avocado oil is not very stable and often has many other oils added in. Buyer beware esp as it is very pricey.

Becky it is also good to use on your hair. Use it as a mask before washing it. You can shave your legs with it and remove makeup and sebum from your pores. Just make sure you double cleanse after trying this. It’s really so versatile. Even use it as a moisturizer on your body when you turn the heat on for winter. Don’t use much because it will spread a very long way. Just wanted to share the beauty side
    of it also with you.

So, since it only has 12% MCTs, the initial boost in ketones is lower than pure MCT oil. But, the C12 and other fats do still get converted into ketones later after the complete digestion process. Just like butter or tallow will do after digestion. So, i personally think coconut oil is the best thing to add to your coffee. It has some quick ketone production and also delayed (time released :D) ketone production. Whereas pure C8/C10 only produces the quick ketones that are gone by the time the majority of the coconut oil kicks in. Just my thoughts on it.

Thank You. I would also like to mention that I use on My Maddie (Carin Terrier) for her itch patches. It seems to be helping her. She likes to lick the plate that I put it on and the cats like to lick her coat after I apply. Her itch patches are clearing up.

Consider oil pulling as a good use of this natural oil. It really cleans your mouth and sinuses. The music coming out from your good quality headphones sounds so much better after a 15 min. oil pulling.

Hello! Thank you so much for all your wonderful guidance,
and funny self experiments ( incredibly clear and helpful). I need your advice or anyone within this thread, I have lost 120 pounds on Keto Mediterranean diet and most of my bio markers are fantastic-I was told last that I had the blood pressure of a teenager!
But......my lipids have really gone up, HDL 270 from 206. My doctor knows I am on Keto. But from everything I am reading, the Keto community understands this will happen under a ketogenic diet and dismisses this fear. I want to take a deeper lipids test and review it with my Keto expert to determine if I need to be worried, or what I can do reduce my cholesterol levels. My doctor wants to put me on a short term statin to protect my heart until I loss the last 50 pounds. I will not give up Keto, but maybe I can cut back on things like butter and use Coconut oil and or more Avocado oil. Sorry for the long question.

What do you do if your Ketones are too high? If you start out at a good level but after exercising and eating a salad for lunch my ketones shot up to 3.8. I'm drinking a lot of water to hopefully flush some out but should I be worried? I don't have a sugar meter, only a ketone meter.

  • @hikerJohn

I never use MCT because it does not taste good. It does not taste bad either so I use coconut oil for the taste knowing it's also full of MCTs. But using a lot of fat if you need to loose weight or if you are insulin resistant is not a great idea. See Nadir Mir Ali's UA-cam channel for some discussions on this topic.

I ordered MCT oil on Amazon a couple months ago, turns out it is your product, had no idea until today.
    Questions:
With regard to MCT and Coconut oil, should I take both or wait until I run out of MCT and buy coconut oil as a replacement to MCT?
I noticed there are two Kirkland coconut oils, Organic and Organic extra virgin. Which one do you recommend,?
    Thank you
