Hi Sean, what a lovely tribute to Rusty with the gate sign, I thought that segment was so touching it brought a tear to my eye. 💚 I must admit we've been lucky with Meg she doesn't get fleas perhaps she's too fast for them! 😂 You are so lucky having such good soil on the Homestead, now that we have finally had a day's worth of rain yesterday I might be able to do my own weeding today as the clay soil should be soft enough now to dig into! Here's hoping! Take care! 🙂👍🏻
I had a big lump in my throat just seeing the images of Rusty🐈. ❤ He was so beautiful and wonderful. I love everything you’ve done and everything you show us. I hope Amber and Topsy get some relief soon! 🐈⬛🐈⬛
Tearing up over Rusty, goes to show how special he was to your viewers Sean, so must be so much more sentiment for you. He had what looked like a nice life, venturing around the allotment and a bed in your shed.
How can a plaque bring me to tears? Even hubby wiped away a tear. So precious to have Rusty’s plaque on the gate Sean, it’s like he’s arrived home and I personally believe spiritually he has. The whole Rusty Homestead is looking amazing already with all your work and personal touches. Beautiful. ❤ J&J
Sean I saw you with tee shirts ,I hang mine on hangers, and put them on an airer, if it looks like rainleave them on an airer in the bathroom, shut the door open the window a litt,le. As winter draws inyou can put the airer inthe loungewhere you have heating. I put my weeds in a barrel, put water tocover them, you can use the water as fertilizer.😊
Rusty was such a special soul...makes me cry. Thanks for the catch up Sean...feeling fallish here on Oregon coast. U.S.A. The most black berries ready today here. Apples starting to fall off yellow transparent 100 yr. old apple tree.
We lost our beloved JackJack this past January; we're both very sad still. His bondmate, Miss Snoop, is still quite subdued. Rusty was a special one! Like our JackJack. Beautiful montage of him. You sure got a lot done! It's really looking fab!
unless youre living in a city or near a busy highway with air pollution I wouldnt bother...when I hang my laundry they're there till they dry...no pollution around me..very country
I shed a tear for dear old Rusty - I was also reminded of my boy Jeff who I lost to cancer almost 4 years ago. I still miss him terribly, and I've a bench and a cat statue in my garden where he's buried so I can sit and remember him. I too have bits of paper stuck to my fridge with recipes on which my late mother wrote for me when I first went off to university. Thank you for a lovely video which has triggered some bittersweet memories for me today ❤
As well as enjoying what you are up to each day in in your home or homestead, I love when you reference village life eg how you hear about the fish van, the men’s shed and gardening club. It’s heartwarming to hear how you are part of the village community, somethings that has sadly died in many areas.
Loved the way you put up Rustys sign on your gate. Picture of him as well, loving memories of him. Regarding your wet washing I usually put them on a rinse in the washing machine just to freshen them up.Homestead looking good.
I watch all your videos Sean. This one was the most interesting and seeing the new gate as well as the plot gate PLUS the weeding in readiness for the plug plants has recharged my enthusiasm . I, too had a tear in my eye at the way you edited the gate sign with rusty himself. Well done that man. hope you've had a good break in my favourite sea side place, Tenby.
Lovely to see Rusty's plaque of honour being put on the gate, both of which hold fond memories for me ..a very nice touch. The gate into your land is perfect.Nice job on the weeding, you know once the weeding is done it will make the space look bigger,I had a shock when I took on a weedy allotment and cleared it,it seemed to double in size 😅 Im off to tackle bindweed on my plot.
You don't half know how to pull at the old heartstrings Sean. Had me in tears with Rusty's appearance. Really starting to see a change in the homestead now.
4 almonds is enough for each day, rich in magnesium, and other vital minerals nuts are a good healthy choice, walnuts ,brazils are good also, don't bother with peanuts.
I felt emotional as the spirit of Rusty was overlooking the sign. You paying homage to him is a wonderful way to keep his memory alive. It is really starting to take shape the Rusty homestead. 😻 x Take care and see you soon.
I'm 25 mins from Newport RI. You would love it there. I love Wales. Having Welsh tea this morning. It's a great tea to drink in New England. Have a great week.
You were one busy guy today Sean. Lots of weeding done. Great! Love that sign for Rusty. A special remembrance for a very dear garden pet. Always in your ❤️
Rusty looks a very knowing and a very intelligent and wise cat 🐈 . Many years ago I had near identical cat and is name was fudge also a few dogs and they all leave a very large imprint in your heart and soul .
I had the same trouble with our washing the other day. We were going out and it looked a bit dodgy weather wise so we finished drying them on the airer in the dining room and they were fine. Your new metal box remimded me of my dad's snap box he had for down the pit. I had forgotten all about it and it was me who had to wash it. 😂😂
Hi Sean, My 4 cats tend to self medicate to eradicate when it comes to fleas. Lovebug has been known to "Summer" under the back deck, sleeping on the cool ground and coming in for meals. Boo seems to be responding to the prescription flea med and spends a lot of time sleeping in my catnip garden. Lulu has taken over my top bed sheet and enjoys a cool breeze when the bedroom door is open with a cross breeze from the back windows. Stanley, the only boy, grooms incessantly after a liquid flea treatment and then takes long naps. Guaranteed that all cats will forget about fleas if you salt their day with a few Dreamies now and then. 😅
i decided to eat seeds on my porridge to be healthy. I didnt realise how calorie dense they are and how small the portion size should be. So in my efforts to be 'healthy' I ended up gaining half a stone 🤦🏼♀️ Summary is that seeds and nuts whilst healthy nutrients are only a tiny portion and high calorie!
Sean, I miss Rusty. He had a great life at the allotment. The little tribute made me happy and sad at the same time. Hey Sue from Newport RI, Nice magnet. I'm Debbie and live in Westerly, but play music every Sunday night at the Fastnet Pub in Newport, if you're around, pop in and say hi
Good evening Sean Beautiful tribute to rusty, so poignant.😢 The end of an era but the dawn of a new day for the gate sign. You did well with the weeding and im sure your plans are starting to come into fruition for you. Sending hugs 🤗 Take care Sean 💜
I wish I could come down from Scotland and get you a petrol mower and a rotavator to clear your homestead patch all at once for you ❤ maybe ask around the village for something to hire?. Have you had a thought about just outside your back door to the right side putting some corrugated plastic panel up between the wall and your roof bit so you have a dry sitting area for yourself and the cats and also somewhere to hang your washing on rainy days ❤. Just a little thought for you xx. I use bephar flea and tick treatment from Amazon and not had fleas for 10yrs. When I tried vet treatment years ago my shadow had fleas weeks later. I wasn’t happy 😂. Bath the cats in a little fairy liquid, flea comb them then add treatment and you’ll be sorted . Hoover all the edges around your house each week for a month as fleas lay eggs there and could be previous tenant that had the issue. Then add few drops of olbas oil in corners of the rooms. Helps prevent all sorts of little beasties lol😂. Fab to use in the shed too.. sending love from Ayrshire xxx
Watching in tears now as you put the sign The Rusty Homesteading on ...floods of tears seeing Rusty and his spirit - brilliant filming and the music too 🐈🧡🧡🧡
This made me cry. I had a stray cat ( orange ) at my workplace who I took care of for years. I named him Fer-L. Sadly, he just never came back one day, so I was not able to "bring him home".
It’s been below 10C here recently (Zone 5B) so I’m considering my turnips done and will harvest them here soon. I don’t think the Japanese cucumber will bear fruit before it gets too cold. The purple sweet potato is flourishing so I’m hoping it produces before first frost. The sunchokes are still strong so I’ll hoping I can harvest them after first frost. I have so much seed grass and bindweed that I’m considering either getting or making a hot composter. In theory that should kill the seeds but I’ve never used one before. Either way I’ve learned much this year so next year will be better. Seriously considering hydroponics in the house if I can dedicate a space for it.
Just wanted to pass on to you, that Waitrose (in the West of Devon anyway) have an offer on at the moment regarding a water filter jug to put in the fridge, of £14 - and so I bought one with my last online order, and it has taken away the horrible chlorine taste, and although it does not taste as lovely at the Highland Spring bottled water I have been buying, I think I can tolerate it! I hope that you will be able to get the same, so you do not have to put up with the horrible tasting tap water in your area? It made me cry seeing the beautiful Rusty. I wish he was still with you, but I know he belonged to someone else, and that he has now passed over the rainbow bridge, but he will always be with you Sean, as you had such a close bond together. It is so lovely that you have named your Homestead The Rusty Homestead, in his honour, he was such a beautiful cat. xxx
A wee hack measure our your almonds put them in a wee snack bag then put them back in the original container then when you take a snack out with you put them in your lunch box I used to do this with cereal weight them then put them back in the box and when I need them they were all ready to use 🐝❤️🐝
I left my towels outside on the line and it rained heavy that night and the next morning, ive not had time to wash them again so i left them in my porch and ive just put them into the washing machine 15 minutes ago. I did um and rrrr as to should i wash them again, really i dont think it is necessary to wash them, but i am more faddy now im older.
Watching you change the sign to The Rusty Homestead and seeing a photo of him brought tears to my eyes ..it was so touching seeing you stroke his name...❤...the homestead was meant to be for you and him...

That was beyond precious, the picture of rusty and his little plaque, very sweet. When cats leave us, we have little paw prints in our heart ❤️
Rusty really was the most handsome of cats ❤ His face had such character, and it's easy to see why you loved him so much.
Hi Sean, what a lovely tribute to Rusty with the gate sign, I thought that segment was so touching it brought a tear to my eye. 💚

Cats are so wonderful and their memories will live on with us for ever until we are once again reunited as soul clusters. 💞💖 Beautiful Rusty's sign.😻x

I was weeding a tonne this afternoon and then I watched your video and watched you speed weed and thought “that weeding is so satisfying!”
The soil looks so good in the homestead - whenever Sean digs, it looks rich, dark and nice and loose.

Don't make more work for yourself. As long as the clothes don't stay wet for days just get them dry. Think of the rain as an extra rinse cycle.
Aww wee Rusty, had tears in my eyes...😢
