I wonder about the homestead and allotment videos. I have an allotment garden and I appreciate everybody’s ideas - even if I don’t follow their advice. I think gardeners are all nerds (myself included) and we love to share our knowledge with others. I have a total black thumb but through the magic of UA-cam and the advice of other gardeners, I am able to eat from my garden all year. I still think I have a black thumb. It’s the soil, sun and seed that feeds me. I’m just the lady who comes and stakes things, and talks to my plants while I give them a drink. I would like to think the criticism is just friendly knowledge sharing - forgetting that you are quite knowledgeable on the topic of gardening to begin. I like your homestead videos. I hope you can find a way to not let the comments bother you. 💖 - Tania
I haven't noticed very much criticism . Just the how to make tea debacle ! Every channel i watch gets the odd Negative Nancy. I wouldnt let it bother you Sean.

Hello Sean. Your place, your rules! Homestead or home. I wanted to thank you as your videos kept me happy and sane for thirteen weeks after a burst appendix. No spring for me, but your walks along the river were delightful! I believe people mean well, but I can see how it could feel as if one is being ganged up on. I myself noticed if you need advice, you do ask! 😂 Thank you, Sir, for all you do. Much appreciated.

❤ the homestead videos. Keep posting as I like watching how you plan your garden. I understand the frustration of people saying do this, plant this and don't plant that as I'm slowly working on my garden and everybody has an opinion. It's my garden and I'll do what I want.
With your fridge freezing things, I had a similar problem. Maybe you can eliminate it by just reading this. I had a repairman come out, and he told me the fridge and freezer have vents on inside. Sometimes, there might be something obstructing the flow, like a plastic bag against the vents. There also is a switch that the thermostat controls, that switch on and off, and opens a flap (that is in the back where you can't see) to allow cold air in or closes it when fridge is at temperature and so regulate the temperature. Sometimes, a piece of ice forms on that flap, preventing from closing properly, and then cool air keeps being circulated into the fridge, when it already reached temperature. To fix that, you have to defrost the fridge completely, and then it should work again. If both those things did not solve the problem, the switch may be faulty, which was the case with my fridge.
It reminds me of the classic Morecambe and Wise sketch!! To Andre Previn….. “ they ARE the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!!!” Do it your own way Sean We love your uploads

Let it cool down and keep it in a pot It looks a lot of work but you can make a lot of breakfast with the granola Enjoy ❤

I so enjoy your videos, Sean, keep up what you're doing! Everyone has their own way of doing things and when UA-camrs put themselves out there, they're bound to have dissenting opinions expressed by viewers. LOL, now I have a word to say about the placement of your kitchen tea kettle! I found that after several years of regular use, the steam from my kettle had started to buckle the laminate on the underside of my cabinet, even though I shut it off promptly. Now I make sure I pull it out away from the cabinet whenever I use it. I can't tell if the underside of your cabinet is laminated like the sides and front are but, considering you have an under-cabinet light and an electrical plug there... well, just something to think about! ;-)
Sean, it might be an idea to invest in a cheap steamer to go on the hob. I live alone and only ever use that. The spuds and root veg go in the bottom pan with the water and the greens go in the steamers. Mine has the base pan plus 2 steamer tiers. I don't have space for an electric one

It costs more than £3.50 for me to drive to the supermarket and back, add to that all the in and out of the packing and time - it’s a bargain! (I get £3.00 delivery from Tesco if it’s not a popular time). Keep up the good work Sean.
Started to watch this 2 hours ago, then got sidetracked. Its Sunday evening here, 9:15, and still need to take my shower. But watching this first. I've gotten some really nasty potatoes lately. I've grown my own before, from grocery store purchase. I grew them in a tower cage I made. They were the whitest, firmest potatoes I've ever had. They were russet potatoes. I also grew sweet potatoes once, 4 plants from 2 sweet potatoes that were going soft after a year in the cellar. Just cut them in two and planted like a regular potato. I got about 10 pounds of spuds outta those 2 potatoes.
Just an idea but would it help if you have some dried milk or coffee mate at your shed so you can always have a cup of tea without having to remember fresh milk. Talking of potatoes, I was recommended by my friend of the variety called Cara. They are a late one and grow well nice and big great for baked, roast and are a very tasty potato flavour. My dad always grew pentland javelin I didnt like the bland water flavour.
That "wet my plants" is a garden flag. Here in the US everyone has them.. Small stake that goes in the ground. Change them out for the seasons.. Love your videos!

💖 - Tania
Please don't allow negativity to affect your channel; I find your subjects quite soothing and relaxing. Some people are just miserable no matter what.
God bless all who sent the presents
I haven't noticed very much criticism . Just the how to make tea debacle ! Every channel i watch gets the odd Negative Nancy. I wouldnt let it bother you Sean.
Hi Sean, I enjoy your channel and love the homestead videos and seeing you plan and create your new garden.
Sean, I started watching you back in the Rusty Garden videos. I was new to gardening and learned a lot from you. I liked the way you shared your part of the world with us all. I never knew about allotment plots. Now, that you are back in Wales, I'm seeing that part of the world, and the people and lifestyle there. Thank you.
Debbie from Rhode Island, USA
Thank you, Sir, for all you do. Much appreciated.
I love mint jelly, which I have made in the distant past, but am unable to find any in my local supermarket. We used to make mint sauce at home, with vinegar and a bit of sugar. I apoloise if any of my well meaning comments have displeased you.
Please don't stop the homestead videos. They motivate me to tackle things on my homestead. Even your puttering around your house helps me in organizing things I've put off...love your channel...very humanizing...Sue from Arizona
You are so right Sue. Love watching Sean puttering at home and in the garden. He does make me giggle!
Your plot, Your way, Sean. Don't listen to the 'know it all's because they don't know it all! There is also so much more to our lovely visits to the Rusty Homestead, like when you check your fantastic clock and tell us the temp, I never tire of seeing the wonderful relaxing views from the plot and love it every time you open the gate and show us the state of the river.., I can feel the wind, hear the trees, smell the roses, you make me feel I am there - thank you ❤❤
The dirt on your homestead looks so dark and lovely.
Please keep posting your homestead videos. I'm a novice to gardening so find your videos helpful. I also love the variety of your videos.
Hi Sean. Thank you for another wonderful video!
Just a thought with your post - you could SAVE THE USED STAMPS on your mail and post then at end of year to BRANSBY HORSES Charity. Bransby Horses rescues horses, ponies, donkeys and mules and gives them sanctuary care and finds them new homes so giving them a second life. Used stamps help them raise funds for their charity’s welfare work as they sell the stamps to raise money. You just need to cut 1" around the stamp and postmark and mail to:-

“ they ARE the right notes, but not necessarily in the right order!!!”
Do it your own way Sean
We love your uploads
That's a good book you bought there by Elizabeth Luard, if I remember rightly she did all the art work in it, she once worked on the satirical magazine Private Eye and married the proprietor Nicholas Luard who co owned the magazine with his friend Peter Cook.
@user-it3ct3fc5f I love reading little, unexpected snippets of information such as this! 😊
I love the homestead videos! Please keep them coming!!!!
Sean you keep doing you! People may have forgotten its about slow living and doing you! Love my sweet potatoes you can bake them they don't take too long and fab stuffed with cheese if you like that sort of thing. 🙌🏿 take care
Here’s a granola recipe
200 gr oats
125 gr mixed nuts
1 large spoon coconut oil
2 large spoons of ahorn or maple siroop
2large spoons of cinnamon
A pinch salt
Make the nuts a bit smaller with a knife
In a little pan on very low heat until it melts the coconut oil cinnamon salt and the ahorn or maple siroop
Poor it over the oats and mix it together with the nuts included
In the oven on 180 degrees for 10 min then stir and 10 min again in the oven.
Let it cool down and keep it in a pot
It looks a lot of work but you can make a lot of breakfast with the granola
Enjoy ❤
I wouldn’t stop doing videos of the homestead just ignore the negative comments some people just haven’t got anything better to do. I really enjoy watching the progress you’ll get there eventually keep up the awesome job 👍👍
If you had a pot of mint growing near your back door you could knock up some fresh mint sauce for much of the year. The fresh mint gives a superior flavour.
The square cloth is a garden flag. U need a steak/hook and thread it through. And put it in the garden.
Thank you so much for sharing your Sunday morning with us: your conversation is so interesting and funny and entertaining. I could NOT take my eyes off of that handsome tea mug. Was that a red griffin on it? The gnome has a griffen on his mug, too.
I can understand turning off the comments on the homestead posts. People are such experts. 🙄
It’s too bad because if you therefore decide not to post them, the rest of us miss out on your greatness. We get it; and we’re here for YOUR doings and expertise, not theirs.
The Welsh red Dragon.
Based on that theory I never go to the toilet because you don’t see it. Cracked me up . Thank goodness for that haha.
Love your curtains with large lemons and your blinds anything by the fabric designer Morrison🙌🏿🙂
William Morris not Morrison.
@@seanjamescameronand you think other people leave rude replies!? This is considered a rude reply Sean. Basic politeness seems to missing from you these days.
I’m loving the homestead development slow and easy does it. You have your health to remember as well. And maybe those who haven’t been following you for years don’t realise all your experience in growing!! I’ve always loved all your seed sowing in the past then i would zip to the plot to sow mine as well!! At the moment I’m making very slow progress on my plot trying to defeat bindweed all amongst my fruit area. I was going no dig but it’s just become rampant so I’m back to digging as much out as possible- it certainly lives up to its other name of ‘devils guts’!!! I hope you haven’t got it on the homestead.
You do what you want ❤❤❤
I so enjoy your videos, Sean, keep up what you're doing! Everyone has their own way of doing things and when UA-camrs put themselves out there, they're bound to have dissenting opinions expressed by viewers.
LOL, now I have a word to say about the placement of your kitchen tea kettle! I found that after several years of regular use, the steam from my kettle had started to buckle the laminate on the underside of my cabinet, even though I shut it off promptly. Now I make sure I pull it out away from the cabinet whenever I use it. I can't tell if the underside of your cabinet is laminated like the sides and front are but, considering you have an under-cabinet light and an electrical plug there... well, just something to think about! ;-)
Love the Louis Wain and allotment pictures. Beautiful❤
Sean, it might be an idea to invest in a cheap steamer to go on the hob. I live alone and only ever use that. The spuds and root veg go in the bottom pan with the water and the greens go in the steamers. Mine has the base pan plus 2 steamer tiers. I don't have space for an electric one
Sean. I am going through some really bad times at the moment.Yours is one of the few channels I can watch as a distraction from things.
Do not let negative trolls effect you.
❤❤❤
My granny used to Cook the potatoes in their skins on an old range top , they would be like balls of flour , just beautiful with half a pound of butter.
Cat meets plate, cat wins! My Tort kitty, she learned how to shut off my alarm clocks, so have one inside of a metal tin and one with a very heavy drinking glass over it. And all pens and pencils have to be out of sight, she chews them up to bits. Love the kitty print so much , looked up Louis Wain.
😂 Love cats…
Ahh please keep the homestead videos. As with all your videos, we enjoy the homestead snippets,,,,,,,,And lets be honest, you have done a hell of a lot in the short time you have had it! As always, thank you.
Tell ‘em all to bog off
It’s YOUR channel
Keep doing what you’re doing
Keep being you 💜
I've been an RN for 40 years and I am tough. Don’t let these pantywaist people get you down. You are fine the way you are. Some people just love to whine and cause trouble. Now you are fine young man. Kiss each kitty cat for this old lady in Upstate NY in the beautiful fall 🍁 Mohawk Valley
'pantywaist ' ? That's a great word!! Never heard that before! 😅
😂Pantywaist. 👍❤
@@diannevenner-kc6guwonder if she means panty waste 😂 never heard that saying before.
I had an allotment with a little house on, here in Sweden. We were 213 allotments and there were always people telling you what to do and how. It was so annoying. I hated it.
Hi Sean British queen potatoes are floury once they are boiled.
"I'm happy with what I am doing" And this is all that matters. I get the need to shut out the haters, turn off the comments. But at the same time you miss hearing from people who support your pursuit of your happiness your way. I have watched you on and off for years and I am proud of you for so many things, but putting your happiness first is the thing I am most proud of. Carry on, Sean :)
Have people forgotten that you struggle with chronic illness? Everyday can be an enormous struggle just to do the basics. Watching your channel I try to keep in mind that you'll do things in your own time when you feel ready. No sooner, no later. Please ignore the haters.
I live in Virginia and my deliver charge is about $10. - your delivery charge is great 👍
Hi Sean, I am having the exact same problem with my stove. Or rather I had the same problem. I simply have a red dot above the buttons for the back and a blue dot for the front. The funny thing is that I remember the colors: blue for the front, red for the back😊
Kia ora, Greetings from New Zealand. Please keep doing the homestead videos. They are most enjoyable! Karene
If you want my advice on the comments: you could leave them on, but don't look at them. So you leave that space for people who like writing comments 😉 while you don't have to worry about them anymore.
My father (72) my son(7) and myself have been following you since your older allotments when Rusty was walking the lots. I hadn't answered your previous question when you asked who had remembered him, so I am making sure I mention that now in case you do close comments one day ❤ I just bought a greenhouse too, to replace my older one I could afford 10 years ago. I will be working on the foundation this fall, or next spring. 🎉 - A "Hello" from Vancouver Island, Canada.
You ignore then sean its your homestead you do as you like you keep posting them its your homestead please dont stop filming i look forward to watching them i like your little cottage you have git it so cosy i have seven cats all strays i have taken in as im on my own after loosing my husband and they are company for me please dont stop posting 😊
Love the gnome!! Hope you enjoyed your dinner. And all the other things you shared with us.
I have 5 of those *amber eyed* beings 🤦🤷🏼♀😂😂
I know all about breakages 😂😂
I know all about destruction 😂😂
I don't care if you turn them off or if you just don't read them, but please don't stop doing what you like and what gives you an income because of some pratt's comments. We'll still watch. ❤
Glad you explained the potatoe thing as i never knew that.Just harvested a small bowl of pots that had self seeded in a tub. They had been in the pot for 2 seasons.Me being the best gardener ever managed to get about 12 poatoes varying sizes from a very small new potatoe to the rest being marbles lol.super chuffed with my harvest festival lol
Please put spaces between the . and start of the next word otherwise your comments end up in the spam box by YT.
Lol I am the best writer on utube added to my best gardener. Never knew the space thing either.
The thing you couldn't figure out what it was, could it be a type of welcome flag for the garden? The kind you put a rod through and stick in the ground??? That's what came to my mind
I think that piece of material is actually a yard ornament that is a flag. You put it on a decorative flag holder.
I think that "I wet my plants" sign is a flag - hence the opening on the top. Displaying garden flags in your front yard (as they call it) is very popular in the USA!
If I had commented on the allotment video I was just going to say taht you are right..when we get still and listen..the answers come to you. I think the gate would look better where you said. If people get too rowdy with their advice just block them. I enjoyed watching you plan the path and planting the rose. I can't wait to see it this time next year. Did either of your cats own up to breaking the dish during the night? Have a great Monday!

Have you no mint in your garden to make mint sauce?
I love the homestead videos and your helped me lot i love the way you do your garden and i now just put my plants in and not worry so much about the weeds(and some weeds we can eat ) i am from Bridgend so love seeing home ,as i am now living in New Zealand.
Cemaes Bay is in Anglesey, North Wales Sean, I went there a few times when I lived on the beautiful island!
Oh for Gods sake Sean you will always have “so called experts” that know it all just ignore them do your own thing when and where you like. We will watch you and enjoy the generosity you show to allow us to watch ❤ Rosey
wasn't there a Harry Enfield character 'you don't want to do it like that, you want to do it like this!'. I enjoy the homestead vlogs, it doesn't occur to me to comment how to do anything bcos its your plot, maybe others will learn something new in how you do it. Have a lovely weekend.
There are members on UA-cam that frive sean by winding up people like yourself up! Carry on don't let them get to you😊
Sean, its sad💓😎but its a sign of your success, that eveyone,is commenting. You are much admired.Take care,do your thing x God bless you and keep you. Have a lovely day,in beautiful Wales x
Hey Sean... Just for your health, you really should go to the toilet! Lol... 😂 People area a pain for sure. Just more reasons for me to consider a cabin in the Montana mountains sooner than later.
Please keep your Homestead videos I think they are really insightful it would be a shame to lose them! 😔 In terms of comments only you know what's best for you at it is your Channel at the end of the day but I think I'm right in saying turning off comments would affect your Channel so perhaps just ignore the comments that get to you and go for a walk and count to ten...?😉 From what I have seen the majority of people on here are really kind and supportive and look at how many pressies you get - so you must be doing something right! 🙂 I do love being part of your community it was the first thing I noticed how people were towards you! 💚 Hope you're having a fab time in Tenby and take care!
Its like christmas morning all your mail and gifts
I quite enjoy watching your videos from the Homestead! 😊
If I were you - and this is not me telling you what to do! - I'd turn off the comments so that you don't have to deal with annoying commenters, but you can still share the videos. And those of us who enjoy watching them don't have to wait until Christmas. 😄
Oh bless Sean, I’ve just ordered a one click climbing rose for the front door for December. Thanks for there review. 😊
P.s. just ordered a copper gas kettle, with a whistleblower after hubby knackered the other 😂
There are always going to be horrible people out there Sean. They don’t appreciate and love you like 98.5% of us do. But I know it must be hurtful to read anything critical or negative when we can see you do your very best to inform, entertain, and show us your beautiful surroundings. Yours is my very favourite channel and I have a great respect for everything you do in spite of suffering from CFS as you do. Let them work their land in their own way, but leave our dear Sean to get on with things in his own good time. Each to his own, as they say. Carry on darling, just as you are!
Well said !
Exactly.
It costs more than £3.50 for me to drive to the supermarket and back, add to that all the in and out of the packing and time - it’s a bargain! (I get £3.00 delivery from Tesco if it’s not a popular time). Keep up the good work Sean.
Loved this video Sean and All of your posts including homestead posts please don't turn off the comments!..youve got a great following.
Where do you find the time to read comments and do all the stuff you do? If they bother you, turn 'em off!
I love your accent 😊 Greetings from Averill Park, New York ❤
When in Tenby, go to Saundersfoot & Amroth close by
Please keep the Homestead vids, we love to watch everything you do there and at home. You do what you want to do and not what people tell you to do. X
Loved this video and the last. I am always inspired by what you said back on the original allotment videos: do it little and do it often. Excited to see your vision for the Homestead emerge at the pace that feels right for you and completely understand the need to turn comments off sometimes to keep the noise down. Thanks for sharing so much of your life with us Sean. I enjoy your company, inspiration and insight very much.
Lol, luv the toilet analogy! Funny way to put it.
I enjoy and appreciate your homestead videos. I love gardening also and I enjoy watching and learning new tricks in gardening. Your backyard garden with all the different levels is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your gardening journey with us. 😊🌺🌸🌻🌷
Hi Sean, my wife Anne and myself have followed you since last year when you were in London. We always enjoy your videos whether you are at home, walking the mountains or on the homestead. Although this is my first comment to you I always click the `like` icon. Please do not be put off some peoples comments. There are those that hide behind their keyboards and would probably not dare to say it to your face. I do believe some get a kick out of it as well. Other peoples channels we follow on YT have also had the same thing happen to them so best to ignore the `keyboard warriors`. Your channel is like a friend dropping in and Anne & I look forward to each video.
Best wishes
Andrew & Anne
